Welcome. And follow me is the Apopo Reno 5Z, and today I'll show you a couple tweaks and tricks you can do on this phone
0:11
So I'm going to begin with a couple really simple ones, for instance, starting up with the dark mode, which you can find under the settings
0:19
And then by going into the display and brightness, you will have the dark and light mode switch
0:23
But more importantly, you do have the option to select it to be out of switch. When enabled, it gives you two options
0:30
so Sunrise to Sunset to Sunrise or Custom which will allow you to set your own timer
0:36
And this will dynamically switch between light and dark mode based on either the time or sunrise to sunset
0:44
And that is probably one of the better options, at least I personally do like it, but if you prefer to just use like dark mode all the time, that's fine too, you can switch it right here
0:55
Now moving on to the another option is going to be the video color enhancer which is also under the
0:59
display on brightness. By scrolling down, you'll find it right over here. By default, it is off
1:04
And it does have this kind of like side-by-side comparison, how it affects the image. So it just
1:09
adds a little bit more brightness to the image and saturation, making the image look a little bit more
1:15
vibrant and pop out a little bit more. So I'm going to enable it. It might look a little bit better
1:21
than it does normally. Now, next thing that I wanted to show was the status bar notifications
1:28
or the icons more precisely. So this is accessible in notifications and status bar
1:41
Now unfortunately you won't be able to turn off all the icons if you wanted to
1:46
kind of like we were able to do on Android I think 10 or maybe even older one
1:53
There was a hidden option for that. nowadays it's completely removed again
1:58
I don't know why I personally really like that option but we do have a
2:04
bit more limited version but still one that you can access so by going into status bar
2:09
you'll see you have a bunch of different toggles right here obviously those not
2:13
those are not all the toggles but you can turn off some that you might not want
2:18
so do not disturb mode things like NFC I did turn off and if turn on NFC
2:25
just so it is visible in the status bar and I can just toggle it off
2:30
Now keep in mind the NFC is still running it still on So if you pull down your notifications and you check it you can see it is still enabled It just not showing up in your status bar anymore
2:42
To be honest, some toggles, if you use it, if you have it enabled all the time
2:47
you should have an option to just turn off the damn toggle
2:51
so it's not toggle but the actual icon, so it's not clattering your status bar
2:55
I personally do like a clean look on my phone, so this specific option is something that I really really
3:01
like to see on basically every phone. Sadly, most of them don't have it. And apparently if they
3:08
do, like in here, they're limited, but still, it's nice to actually see anything associated with it
3:14
So if you're the type of person who likes to clean it up, have as minimal clutter in your status
3:20
bar as possible, right here you can remove a bunch of those icons and have more clean look
3:27
Now moving on to the next option, which is also going to be in the notifications
3:31
and status bar is going to be the notifications history. So normally if you sometimes do clean all notifications
3:41
and maybe you just realize that he cleaned something that he didn't want to
3:45
got removed, you can enable the notification history by going into more settings
3:52
And you will have here notification history. You do need to turn it on first and from now on it will keep a history of it
3:59
I'm not exactly sure how far it goes back with the history
4:05
Is it like in days or how many notifications? So that's something that you need to test
4:09
And obviously I don't have any notification right now to showcase this with. Because none of these
4:14
Actually, I'm going to try this. If I interact with any of these, all that
4:24
No, that won't work. So unfortunately, I have no way of... showing this off to be honest
4:32
So yeah. But obviously it will just show you the history of your notification
4:37
so each one of these will be basically visible in the history right here
4:41
And one another thing if you're planning to view the history you'll need to go into these settings right
4:47
here to actually view it from here. I don't think it shows up anywhere else
4:51
So that is a little bit of a downside I would say but still
4:55
it's one of those options that you might need to utilize Not so often, so whenever you need to, you can just navigate it in there and check it out
5:05
Now moving on to the next thing it going to be the smart sidebar If you realize you do have this kind of like Samsung sidebar right here you can pull it out and it has a bunch of toggles right here and a couple applications You can see drag it up outside sidebar to open it and split screen which is a pretty
5:25
nice feature. We do have things like screenshot of screen recording as well. So if you want to customize
5:31
this or maybe turn it off, do whatever, you can do so by going into the settings and from here
5:36
you will navigate to special features. So let's go back to the main settings
5:41
And then scroll down, special features. And here you'll find smart sidebar
5:48
And obviously you have the toggle to turn it on or off. Show apps names, if you want to
5:53
You can select how visible it is. So you can make it a bit more transparent
5:57
where I can barely see it right now. Or you can make it just a bit more visible
6:04
You can also hide it. Though it didn't really hide anything for some reason
6:11
Oh, it's only when the video or game app is displaying a full screen
6:17
So it will hide it then. Though hiding doesn't mean that it can't access it
6:21
It just means that it won't be visible, which is probably a good thing to have it enabled
6:26
And it looks like we don't have much settings in here, so let's see if I want to actually edit this
6:36
I guess it will just probably show recent apps or apps that you might use often
6:47
because I don't really see a way to change what kind of apps show up here, which is a little
6:55
bit weird. So it just shows us how to use it. So yeah
7:06
next thing and leaving this one behind we have the screen of gestures so these will
7:14
allow you to set up as the name would apply gestures when the phone is locked so probably one of them
7:21
more one one of the gestures that i would probably utilize more would be the flashlight gesture
7:30
now let's actually find it it was in yes gestures and motions which is in special features you can get
7:36
redirect it and you have screen of gestures right at the top
7:40
You do need to first enable it and then it gives a couple different things that you can launch
7:44
Now like I said the one that I primarily would use would be the V which is for a flashlight But you also have a couple other ones like draw an O on the screen to open a camera double top to wake or turn off the screen
7:58
And music controls with, is it, use two fingers or draw? Okay, so you basically draw on a screen
8:08
just these kind of gestures to go forward or back. Personally, not my capability, but if you want to utilize it, turn it on
8:15
and you also can apparently add gestures right here so you have different choices
8:20
so I can select what to draw or maybe how to swipe a letter
8:27
and then you can actually assign a specific function to it outside of the ones that were provided by default before
8:33
here you can choose if for instance you want to unlock the device if you want to call someone or if you want to open up
8:40
and up so just to kind of showcase this I'm going to open up
8:44
or I'm going to select to open up Chrome, which is with W
8:50
Okay, so we have two gestures. We have the V for flashlight and we have the
8:53
W for Chrome. Now, one thing to mention, when it comes down to things
9:00
like opening up apps with a gesture, you'll probably see it tells you to enter a passcode just because
9:08
the device has a lock screen. Now, if it wouldn't have a lag screen, it would automatically
9:12
jump to the app. but if you have any kind of like fingerprint or anything like that
9:17
you do need to go through an extra step, which kind of defeats the purpose of it
9:21
But in terms of things like the flashlights, you can see it's off
9:29
And you can see it's right now shining. So you can see this kind of brightness right here
9:36
And there's also a little sound, not sure if you can hear that, so I'm gonna bring it up closer and draw the shape
9:41
Hopefully you will be able to hear it. So hopefully that was audible
9:58
There we go. So those would be the screen of gestures. Now with that being said, that's basically all the tweaks
10:08
or settings and stuff like that that I had to show you
10:12
