Welcome in front of me as a Motorola One Action and today I will show you
0:10
unboxing along with an overview of the device. So starting off obviously the box
0:15
that comes in now the one that I have in front of me is I believe that pearl white
0:20
version of it so I just open it up nothing in here just the flimsy little box the
0:26
phone itself and set it up to the side and I'll also mentioned that the phone is already set up so yeah and some plastic paperwork along with the
0:37
receipt and more paperwork no one really cares about paperwork so let's just drop that to the side
0:43
and we get the cable um just a typical type 8 type c along with the charger now this charger will
0:50
probably be the most underwhelming charger of chargers that i have reviewed in a while
0:55
or at least phones that come with one uh so yeah I'll write out mentioned that this is a 10 watt charger which makes me feel like I'm doing an unboxing of the phone
1:06
straight out of 2010 so yeah nothing really else apart from the SIM inject tool in here and yeah so
1:15
just drop that in here get the phone in front it over so as you can see it comes already with a case on it
1:22
I'm gonna actually get rid of it the case is actually fairly nice but as to be honest we don't really care about
1:29
the casing we more care about the device itself so as you can see this is the back
1:34
of the device not sure if it's visible on the camera but the back isn't actually
1:39
purely white or like the pearl white color and does have like a tiny bit of a grain kind
1:44
like a grid to it which is barely visible honestly i didn't really notice until now and yeah
1:52
not sure if we can see that this i can't really see on the camera but yeah as you can see that's
1:59
the back. You do have a fingerprint sensor on the back as well. Kind of old style but then the
2:05
device was released in 2019 so yeah. Let me click quickly. Kind of get rid of, at least try to
2:14
get rid of most of these smudges on here. There we go. Almost worked. So let me turn on the device
2:23
apparently. There we go. And obviously you can see this gigantic. hole-punched camera. I mean, this has got to be the biggest hole punch I have ever seen on the phone
2:35
Look at that. It's almost the size of the fingerprint sensor. So yeah. Now while this is turning on, I'm going to mention the display. So this is a 6.3-inch display
2:46
It's a 1080p by 2520 LCD IPS display with a pixels per inch of 432, so just a typical 2020 spec
2:56
with an 82.5% screen-to-body ratio. So a fairly decent one, although probably the majority of that left over is the whole bunch of the camera
3:07
I mean, that thing is just huge. You can clearly see it right here
3:13
So, let's unlock it. As you can see, this is the display
3:17
Now the display won't be winning any words here. It's just an IPS display with..
3:22
It's already maxed out and it's already underwhelming. So in pure sunlight this thing will probably be barely visible
3:32
But I guess it's a downside of an IPS display and a cheaper price tag for it
3:39
And obviously it's a 60 hertz display. Not expecting anything better here
3:45
It's a budget device altogether. So I wouldn't be expecting much here
3:50
Let's also see what kind of Android it's running. So this one is Android
3:56
Android 10 version, so that is actually a surprising, nicely surprising, surprise that it comes
4:04
with the Android 10. So you will, at the moment, you're getting the best, or best and latest Android at the moment
4:12
although I believe there's already Android 11 for specific devices like Pixel, but I have
4:18
no idea if this will be rolling out to this device. It's probably highly unlikely, but who knows
4:25
Now, moving on, that gigantic holpont houses a 12 megapixel white sensor camera
4:32
that shoots at 1080p 30 frames. So just a typical selfie cam right here
4:39
Now I'm going to go soon after into the quality of it. So we're going to capture a couple photos and see how it looks like
4:47
So on the back we have three more sensors, or more precisely actually two sensors, I would say
4:55
On the sheet it does say that it has 3ст, so we have 12 megapixel white sensor, which is basically the main shooter
5:01
Then we have a 60 megapixel ultra wide and then 5 megapixel depths
5:06
Now that 5 megapixel depth, just the size of it, I don't think it's going to matter match
5:10
Probably you could tape it up and it wouldn't really change much in the photos. That just kind of a manufacturer way of trying to bump up the quality or the specs of the phone itself by just adding additional lenses And those lenses are kind of useless at times specifically if you see a 2 megapixel lens on any kind of phone you can basically forget
5:34
about its existence it's going to basically be atrocious garbage to be honest for instance
5:44
thing like 1 plus Nord comes with a 2 megapixel I think also that sensor and that thing is basically
5:50
or no, it was a macro. But that thing basically captures such a crap photos
5:54
that your main pixel shooter can capture just a normal photo and zoom in better
5:59
in better than the macro can capture. So I believe this is probably the same kind of thing here
6:06
Now the depth sensor is really hard to show off how it really works
6:11
So I'm going to try to cover it up and capture a couple photos in a second and see if that actually changes anything
6:18
So you can actually get a look at it yourself. So apart from the two and a half sensors that we have here we also
6:27
have the low dot a flash as you can see along with that fingerprint sensor that I
6:31
mentioned before and then find something that I can capture. I'm sure what
6:39
I just you know I'll take the box itself. There we go. So it's unlocked it
6:48
open up the camera. There we go. What we got? We got some kind of whatever tools, panorama, slow-mo, portrait, pot color
7:04
Let's see how that works in this case. Oh, that's interesting. I don't know if you can see it
7:14
It's kind of cool effect. It gives you this slider and you can kind of tone down the colors once you select one
7:19
ють as you can see it almost works maybe if I would have chosen a different
7:25
color might be a little bit better but a nice interesting kind of thing to have
7:30
here so you basically select the color and then you can tone down everything
7:34
else around it kind of interesting honestly I'm not gonna lie but yeah going back
7:40
so this is just gonna be the main sensor I believe this is the 16 megapixel
7:45
I also think that the depth sensor is the last one that is
7:49
the smallest one. So I'm gonna... let me first uncover it. Make sure that it's all clean
7:56
So there's no excuse for it looking blurry. Okay, so now I was covering it. Let's see if there is literally any difference in it. So this is the covered version
8:19
Let me go back to it
8:30
Let me go back to it. So..
8:49
So honestly, both of them look exactly the same to me. I was trying to see some differences in the little sticker that is right here, curled up, but
9:02
in both of them it's blurry. And as you can see, it basically does the same thing
9:12
So this is, this version is the covered depth sensor. And this one is uncovered
9:21
And to me, they're basically look identical in almost every single way, every angle
9:28
So, like I thought, it's basically a useless sensor, assuming I'm looking at it
9:32
correctly. Now, there is a possibility that I have no idea what it's actually supposed to do
9:36
But depth sensor would, in most cases, sense depth, which would probably
9:41
should be sensing the difference between the screen and the case. which I didn't really do a great job, let's be honest here
9:52
So that was the back. Now let's see how the front looks like
10:00
Let's flip it over, get my old smug here, and also blast it with light
10:10
There we go, that's a little bit better. The skin color looks weird at best
10:25
Stop it. Yeah, I kind of look like I'm orange almost, which is definitely not my skin color
10:38
But other than that, it did a fairly good job, honestly. I mean it is way too saturated, let's face it
10:47
face that idea. This cable looks almost here like it glowing which is most certainly not the case Honestly here let me I going to take out my phone right here
11:00
I'm going to quickly capture it or kind of flip it over and see how it looks like in reality
11:07
which this one will be a little bit more representative of more colors right here
11:19
you can for instance see the color which this is closer to well how it actually looks like it's
11:26
most certainly not glowing like this so yeah um so the colors i don't know they look like the
11:35
cameras trying to compensate for something by just saturating everything to ridiculous amounts and
11:41
not sure what that is i did some weird stuff but with lighting uh this is the
11:49
kind of like the foam padding that is all around here, but for some reason it's really lit up
11:56
which it should be basically the same color as everything else, so not really sure what was that happening here
12:03
And yeah, obviously the colors of it are just kind of just unusable in my opinion
12:12
The amount of saturation here is a little bit too extreme. Now actually let's in this case see if the back one captures anything remotely as hideous as this
12:27
So see now this will be probably harder because I want to capture myself again
12:32
So let's turn on a timer. Three seconds should be good enough
12:38
I'm not looking for anything special here. I'm not going to win any beauty awards here
12:45
Let's see, I've probably captured it. It looks a little bit better, but still the skin color is a little bit..
13:01
A little bit better, but honestly, like I said, skin color is a little bit weird here
13:10
At least the reddish isn't looking like it's trying to escape the screen here
13:14
So yeah, moving out of the camera department which is mediocre at best if not even less
13:22
we can go to the specification of the device. So the phone comes within Exenus 9609 and only one variant of
13:34
basically specs which is 128 gigabytes of storage along with 4 gigabytes of RAM. Now you don't
13:42
have any other choices between, apart from that. It does have an expendable storage so you
13:48
don't have to worry about running out of it, at least in certain cases. So you can slap in an
13:53
SD card and expend the storage by probably 500 to like terabyte of storage. So that is
14:01
really nice. Now when it comes on to storage, it comes with a UFS 2.1, which is well, for a budget
14:11
device it's decent that's what I'm going to say it's not the best but for $200
14:17
I'm not going to be complaining about it and then we have 3,500
14:24
milliamp power battery which is a fairly decent front display like this and
14:29
processor of this range I think the battery should be well good enough the thing
14:35
that I do have a problem though with is the 10 watt charger now this thing has just got awful
14:41
I don't really see why in 2019, when the end of 2019, when the phone was released
14:48
they decided to include a 10-watt charger paying, I don't know, $20 more
14:53
The price might not look as nice than when it's costing $220
14:59
We're missing that, like, the nice price range. But honestly, I prefer to pay more and have a better charger rather than pay $20 less or so
15:10
and have this just little garbage of a charger. So that is one of the biggest problems I have with this
15:18
If you're planning to charge this, for instance, quickly, you're not going to
15:24
I'll just put it this way. So if you really like to, I don't know, slap your phone into charging for like 10 minutes
15:32
and have it charged quickly to, like, I don't know, usable state for the rest of the day
15:36
this is most certainly not the charger for you along with the phone. um but if you for instance charge it once a day during night or something like that then the
15:45
charger should be good enough i mean if if it's not going to charge in like eight hours then
15:53
i wouldn't really recommend this phone to anybody but even with 10 watts it will most likely
15:59
charge throughout the entire night so yeah and like we already seen um there is a fingerprint we also
16:09
have something that you haven't seen which is a well haven't seen on this phone at least yet
16:14
which is a headphone jack we seen that before on different devices back in a day but yeah it nice that they actually included it The thing that they didn include is headphones with the phone itself which probably that for the better
16:28
At this price range, they would most certainly not include anything decent. So the fact that they decided to just not do it at all
16:34
and maybe spend the budget somewhere else is probably a better decision here
16:38
And then on the right side, we have the power key along with the volume rackers
16:44
about it On the left side we have the SIM slash SD tray
16:49
So you can have either two SD cards Or two SIM cards or one
16:54
Sim card and one SD card And then at the bottom Speaker Grill
16:58
Charging Ford microphone And that's it And at the front you already seen this Huge
17:04
selfie cam The back triple camera set up With minimal branding And that's about it
17:13
Now it doesn't look like it comes with that I always on display which on them
17:18
okay no reminder it disappears. So if I tap on it does it turn on
17:24
Nope it doesn't seem to. Oh it's a lift, okay so that's how it works
17:32
So when you lift it up it lights up. So that's actually a nice touch here
17:37
So yeah. So finishing this off, like I said, the first thing
17:43
phone costs $200 roughly. The price may actually be lower in 2020 when I'm recording this, considering this phone was
17:52
released in 2019, I believe, October. So it's approaching close to a year
18:00
And at this time range, I believe this phone probably sells for even less in this case
18:06
And even at the $200 price range, I have to say that the phone is really decent
18:10
I won't be winning any kind of spec sheet in terms of performance, so it is a budget device
18:18
at basically all the thing that it does. Or if it's not a budget, at least it's kind of like a mid-range
18:26
You do have a decent display, I'm not going to be complaining about it, it's an LCDAPS
18:31
with a fairly decent resolution. The size is also nice, and the fact that it does have a fairly slim bezels
18:40
I also really admire and well not my admire but like. So in terms of like the design, the phone looks really nice
18:49
and doesn't really look like a budget device if I'm going to be honest
18:54
So if you look at it at the stand, the only thing that kind of screams that unbudget is this huge selfie camera right here
19:02
and this a little bit oversized chin. But other than that, the bezels are fairly minimal
19:09
The back look also really nice. nice. Even though it's plastic, it doesn't really look like it is. It has a nice, nice color
19:16
gradient to it along with this pattern to it. Like I said, this grid which is barely visible
19:23
And the build quality obviously won't be anything mind-blowing here. I believe, I think this is
19:29
plastic as well. So the phone is basically all plastic apart from the screen. And even though it costs
19:38
$200 and well has this huge camera cat out right here which I for some reason can't not talk about
19:47
for some weird reason the phone does look semi-premium that's how I'm going to call it
19:55
it's not necessarily premium but it's like semi-premium and like I said for $200 I would
20:02
recommend this device it does the job if you're looking for a cheap phone that basically works well
20:08
to extent of basically its price. For the bug you're getting a decent device
20:17
I'm not going to complain about that. And the fact that it comes with an Android 10 and has a headphone jack
20:23
is also a really nice touch which really nice that it's there
20:28
Now in terms of downsides of this device it does have a god-offal camera
20:34
and the device isn't necessarily the quickest. quickest as you can see even from like switching the pages it kind of looks weird like
20:42
it's skipping a lot of frames to basically make it look like it's going smoothly from page to page
20:48
so you're not going to be getting much performance out of this if you're planning to game on this
20:56
device i probably i feel like it's going to not perform too well um so keep that in mind but for a day-to-day
21:04
use youtube browsing web calling it and doing all that stuff, the device should work fine
21:10
It's responsive to touch, as you can see, I can barely almost touch it
21:14
and it does respond to it. It does come with a protection on it as well
21:22
And, yeah, it looks nice. So to finish it off, again, I would recommend this device if you're looking for a semi-chip option of a phone
21:31
and not playing to capture a lot of photos with it. So thanks for watching
21:37
and see you in the next one
