Welcome and in front of me is an Honor 8 and today I will show you how to transfer files
0:12
from your phone to an SD card and vice versa. Now to get started you will want to open up the files application, which for me is right
0:20
over here and before I actually do that I'm just going to cut through a couple screenshots
0:26
of just one should be good enough. Let's open it up and in here for some reason I only have local storage, oh no there we
0:35
go there is also the SD card. So as you can see you have to go to the local and you will see both of your storages so
0:41
the internal SD storage of the device and then SD card obviously the memory card that
0:46
you have inserted into the device. So I'm going to start off with the internal storage and in here we have even more folders
0:55
than I'm used to but again as basically almost every Android device majority of these folders
1:00
are basically useless and empty. Now the worth mentioning folders are folders like the DCIM folder which contains pictures
1:09
and videos captured with the device itself and below that we have the downloads folder
1:13
which will contain anything that I have downloaded and below that we'll have pictures folder
1:18
which contains screenshots which also is where my files are or a single file
1:26
So once you find it whatever it is that you're looking for simply select it by holding it
1:31
and once you select it as you can see you have this checkbox and you can then quickly
1:38
select multiple files after that by simply just tapping on them quickly but I have only
1:45
one so I'm not going to... that's basically how I can show it
1:50
So anyway once you have your files selected you have two options so you can either copy
1:54
them or move them and the choice is completely up to you
1:59
I'll go with move and once you have selected one of the two options you want to navigate
2:04
to where you want to move them to so if you want to change the location to something like
2:09
an SD card as I will be doing then select local which will show you the storages
2:15
I'm going to select the SD card and from here we can navigate to a folder that we want to
2:19
drop it into. So I could either drop it into the pictures folder just to keep it organized or slap a
2:25
trade in the middle here without putting it into any specific folder which is what I will do
2:31
Move and there it is up to bottom now as you can see
2:36
As you can see fairly simple process. Takes really short time assuming your files are in gigabyte sizes
2:44
The more you're trying to copy in bigger files the longer it will take but a picture like
2:48
this just a couple megabytes or even not even a single one is almost instant
2:54
But as you can see that is how you move any kind of file and if you found this video helpful
