Welcome, my name is Xiaomi Redmi 9 and today I'll show you how to transfer files from your
0:12
phone to an SD card and vice versa. So to get started we'll need to open up the files app which I'm not exactly sure where
0:20
is so let me quickly find it and there it is, so file manager, simply tap on it, it's
0:27
allow and then new features cancelled, so from here you want to tap on the folder right
0:34
over here and by default it's going to go to the internal storage which means the storage
0:40
of the device itself and in here you can look for your files and now I believe mine will
0:46
be right in here and yep, surely they are here. So as a brief guide, DCIM folder will contain videos, as you can see, videos, screenshots
0:58
camera recordings and just camera photos in here, then you have things like the downloads
1:02
folder which will contain anything that I have downloaded either through a web browser
1:06
an email, everything that I have downloaded will be saved here, that also includes images
1:12
assuming they were downloaded and apart from that you have folders like movies, music
1:17
notifications, podcasts, ringtones, those folders are primarily empty assuming I haven't downloaded some kind of special app that just saves directly to those folders
1:28
So yeah, you can check it if you're looking for something specific or if it's in there
1:34
and anything else, things like the folders music or for instance music, if you place
1:42
something to one of those folders yourself you can, you will already know that something
1:46
is in there. So yeah, once you find your files you will want to select them, so let me quickly select
1:54
mine, as you can see once you find the files they will have this circle right here, you
1:58
can simply tap on the circle to select your files as such, so that is one way you can
2:04
do it or you can also select all of them basically along with the folder by just holding the
2:09
file as you can see, the file by the folder I mean, so if you hold it, it gets selected
2:15
and the outcome is basically the same, whichever way you do it is completely up to you, whichever
2:19
way is more convenient that's probably the way you should go with, but once you have
2:23
selected the files, folder, whatever it is, what you want to do then is choose if you
2:28
want to either move it or copy it. Now right here we only have the move option visible, under more we will have copy, so
2:37
select whichever one you want, move option will completely remove those files that are
2:41
selected from here and move them to a new location, while copy will create additional
2:46
set of the same files and move them again also to a new location, I'm gonna go with
2:50
move for this one and once you select one of the options it will bring up the storage
2:55
so we have the internal storage, the SD card and also Google Drive if you are logged into
2:59
Google, I'm gonna go with the SD card for now and from here you want to navigate into
3:04
the folder or location where you want to move them, now I'm not really gonna be bothering
3:09
with finding a specific location, I'm just gonna select paste and that will paste them
3:14
right directly into the SD card folder like you can see at the bottom here
3:21
Now also if your files are located on the SD card, to access that SD card I didn't actually
3:28
show it, so when you are in here, by default like I said it opens up the internal storage
3:33
and if you want SD card simply tap on the text in the drop down and select SD card and
3:39
from here we can continue the same way to select your files that you want to move and
3:45
then choose copy or move. So that is how you would move your files and if you found this video helpful don't forget
