Welcome, follow me as a Samsung Galaxy Fold 4 and today I will show you how you can enable
0:06
and also set up your portable hotspot. Now to get started, you will need to pull down your notifications, extend the list and
0:16
locate the hotspot toggle, which for me is right over here. Once you locate it, you will want to hold this the first time around
0:24
This is only for the very first time. The reason for that is once you hold it, it takes you to the settings where you can
0:30
number one, check your current hotspot password and number two, you can also change it
0:35
Now I do recommend actually changing it by tapping on configure and removing this one
0:41
Now your new password does need to have at least eight characters in length
0:45
It can be letters or numbers and obviously both. I'm just going to stick with just numbers
0:52
Very simple password. Obviously you can set it up to be whatever you want. That is just mine
0:57
And from here we can select done. Additionally, you can also change the AP band
1:03
It is set to be 2.4, which is what I recommend for the most people that, or for everybody
1:09
that doesn't know what this is. So if you know what this is, you can change it to whatever you know your device will support
1:17
But for everybody else who is not sure what this is, I recommend keeping it at 2.4 gigahertz Wi-Fi
1:22
If you don't know what this is, this kind of band right here will be utilized by virtually
1:27
every device from very beginning of like smartphones all the way to what is being used right now
1:33
at the very top. Obviously if your device for instance supports 5 gigahertz Wi-Fi, go ahead and change it
1:40
to 5 gigahertz. I will warn you, your phone might be marketed as 5G
1:47
This is not what this is. This is strictly for Wi-Fi and not for mobile network
1:51
These are completely different, but if your device supports 5G connectivity, there is
1:57
a high chance it also supports Wi-Fi 5 gigahertz, though it's not necessarily, you know, guaranteed
2:08
The reason, the way you can actually check it is you can change it to 5 gigahertz and
2:13
once you turn on your hotspot and you try to connect to it with the other device and
2:18
that other device does not see this hotspot whatsoever, not a single hotspot by this
2:23
name right here, that means that it just doesn't support it. Now also give it a couple seconds, sometimes it takes a half a minute or so to show up
2:31
but if it doesn't show up after like a minute or so, it just doesn't support it and all
2:35
you would need to do is drop it back to 2.4. Now that's basically all the things that I would recommend changing here
2:42
You could also change the hotspot name if you wanted to, but that's completely optional and this is something that I can see, so usually it's the name of the device, so it's quite simple
2:51
So anyway, from here, whenever you want to utilize your hotspot, simply find the toggle
2:55
top on it, select OK, and there you go. You can see the icon showed up right here, so it is right now running in the background
3:05
and you can connect to your hotspot. Now I do urge you to try and remember to turn it off once you're done with it
3:13
It does consume more battery life when it's being enabled and if you're not using it
3:17
there's really no reason for it to be running in the background. So to turn it off, simply find the toggle once more and top on it again
3:25
And there we go. So if you found this very helpful, don't forget to hit like, subscribe, and thanks for watching
