Welcome, I'm Vladimir the RealMe8 and today I'll show you how to Harvey set the device
0:11
through recovery mode. Now this process will also remove a screen lock if you have one that you for instance
0:17
don't know. So let me lock the device and you'll see I did set up a screen lock and I'm going to
0:23
progress from here as though I don't actually know it. So to get started all you need to do is hold the power key, slide down to power off and
0:34
once the device powers down you want to hold power key and volume down, so both of them
0:39
at the same time. Once you see the RealMe logo you can let go of the power key but keep holding down volume
0:50
down and also once you see the recovery mode right at the bottom right here you can let
1:00
go, just simply wait for it to show up the language selection right here and obviously
1:05
you want to tap on the language that you wish to use so I'm going to go with English
1:09
As you can see we're now in the recovery mode. So from here let's select wipe data by simply tapping on it and then select format data
1:20
Now the option above called wipe data doesn't actually do what it says it does
1:25
As you can see below that, also in the blue text, retains contacts, messages and photos
1:30
which basically doesn't wipe data. I'm not sure what it wipes in this case if it retains most of the most important parts
1:40
So yeah, so make sure you choose the format data instead which will remove everything
1:44
from your device. Now once you select it, it will give you some kind of random code right here which
1:50
you need to simply type in so we have at least for me right here is a 5840
1:57
There we go. Now I'll also mention that this code will be random every single time so for you it's
2:09
going to be a completely different code. Now once you type it in it will give you this message format data, all user data will be
2:15
reset. So let's confirm that format and this will begin the process
2:22
Now this will take at least at this stage just couple seconds and we're trying to bring
2:28
you up with this little window. Wipe successful, click on OK and this will automatically reboot the device
2:34
Now it will be turning on for longer than it used to
2:38
That is because it's going to be continuing the reset of the device in the background
2:42
so just be patient. Now once it's finished it should be then greeted with the Android setup screen so I'll be back
2:49
once the reset is done. And as you can see now the process finished and you can set up your device as however
3:22
you like. So if you found this video helpful don't forget to hit like, subscribe and thanks for watching
