Welcome and follow me as a Google Pixel 5a and today I will show you how we can hard reset this device through recovery mode
0:11
Now, doing this through recovery mode will allow you to get rid of protection like screen locks
0:17
So as you can see, I do have a pattern set and this will get rid of it
0:21
Now, I am also going to showcase later on how you can bypass Google verification, which in the case of this specific device
0:30
will mean that the device will become locked. And that is due to me being signed into a Google account
0:39
So, just going to showcase this. If we go into settings and passwords and accounts, you can see I have a Google account added right here
0:48
So when performing a factory reset of the device through recovery mode, this will then make the device be locked
0:54
And after the process is finished, you will need to either confirm the pattern, pin, password or Google account
1:00
But assuming you don't know your screen lock, that only leaves you with Google account. And assuming you don't know either of those, I'm also going to show later on how you can just completely get rid of it
1:08
But this video will be strictly just resetting it without needing to put in your passcode
1:14
So number one, let's hold power key and select power off. Once the phone turns off, you want to hold power and volume up
1:24
OK. Once you see this screen right over here, Android with no command
1:44
what you want to do is hold power key and then press volume up once. Like this. This will then take you to recovery mode
1:51
So and in here using a volume keys, you want to scroll down to, in order to select wipe data, factory reset
1:59
confirm with power key, select factory data reset, confirm with that. As you can see, wiping data and data wipe complete
2:11
Now at this point, reboots now should be selected by default. So press power key once more to reboot the device and this will continue resetting it in the background
2:19
So it will take the device a little bit longer to boot back up. But once it's finished, we will then be presented with Android setup screen
2:25
So I'll be back once that is visible. Now, this is a pin for my SIM card
2:42
Actually, I'm not even going to confirm it. I'm just going to remove the SIM card
2:46
I can find a little SIM eject tool. There we go. So there we go
3:03
As you can see, the process is now finished and you can set up your device however you like. So if you found this video helpful, don't forget to hit like, subscribe and thanks for watching
3:18
And I'll see you in the next video
