How to Enable Portable Hotspot on Nokia G42 / Share Wi-Fi Using Your Smartphone

set up your portable hotspot. So to get started, we will pull down our notifications by swiping down from the top of our screen

and swipe down once again to extend the list of toggles. Now between those toggles on one of the pages, you should have a hotspot toggle

If you don't see it on the first one, swipe to the left and this will show you a second page and I still actually don't see it here

So anyway, I'm going to click on this pencil right here at the bottom

This will show me all the toggles that I can add as well, which we can see hotspot is a

little bit further down the list and it's right here under a little bit under the hold

and drag to add tile. So we're going to hold it, it gets lifted up

We're going to drag it, drop it, go back and now we have access to it on right here

So once you have access to it in your toggles, you can now hold it again and this will take

you to the settings. Now I do recommend navigating into the settings because hotspot comes with a randomly generated

password, which you can see right here. Once you tap on it, it's abominable

So I recommend removing it and setting up your own new password, which will need to

have at least eight characters and length that can be letters or numbers or both, at

which point you can then select okay to save the changed password

Additionally, we have things like hotspot name. This is typically the name of the device, which at that point, that's all you're going

to be looking for in the wifi list. And also below that we have turn off hotspot automatically

So again, turn that off if you don't want it, though I recommend keeping it on

Oh boy, sorry for that. Anyway, so I'm going to keep this on just because hotspot does consume a little bit

more of your phone's battery and when you forget about it, there's really no reason

for it to be running in the background. So this will be saving you and your battery from time to time

Now let's close this and find the toggle once again. And now all you need to do is simply tap on it to enable it

And from here, you can connect to this hotspot with any device

Now once you're done with it, you can obviously wait for the timer to kick in and turn it

off automatically, but you can also do it yourself by tapping on the toggle once more
