How to Activate Portable Hotspot in OnePlus 8 – Network Access Point

Welcome, in front of me is a OnePlus 8 and today I will show you how to enable and also

set up the portable hotspot. So to get started let's pull down the notification panel and from there go to the second page

where you should find the toggle for hotspot, that's where it's by default

So let's just tap on it and once you tap on it it will be enabled but you also want to

probably change the password or figure out what the password right now is so hold the

toggle and this will take you to the settings. So you want to tap on the WiFi hotspot and from here you have the hotspot password so

once you tap on it you will have basically the password right here but you can remove

it and for instance type another one that you wish to use, something that might be easier

So once you change it it will disable it and re-enable it back up and from here you

also have a couple of other options like a type of security so you can change that, hotspot

name which will be just the name visible on your network list, then you have turn on hotspot

automatically or turn off I meant, so when it's inactive meaning no one is connected

to it for more than 5 minutes it will automatically just turn off so it doesn't waste your battery

and then you have the AP band which basically has only two choices, you have the 2.4 and

5GHz one. Now when it comes down to this 5GHz will be faster but not every device can support it

so majority of the old devices like I don't know the beginning of 2010 I would say so

about a decade ago might not support it so if you have some of those devices that just

don't see your network because when you tap this and you don't see the at the moment 1

plus 8 in your network list that means that your device is not supporting the 5GHz so

you want to drop it back to 2.4 and then it should be able to see it

And once you set all that up you can just leave this and forget about the settings and
