Welcome, FlamingZine Nokia 1.4 and today I'll show you how you can hard reset the device
0:13
through settings. So obviously to get started you'll want to open up your settings
0:19
From here, scroll all the way down to System, select Advanced and choose Reset Options
0:27
And in here you'll have the option Erase All Data, Factory Reset
0:31
Once you click on it, it gives you a message that performing a factory reset of your device
0:36
will result in you losing things like your Google accounts, system and app data, downloaded
0:40
apps, music, photos and other user data. Now briefly going into this, for the majority, or maybe not majority, but about 50% of the
0:50
things that are listed right here you don't need to worry about. For instance, Google accounts, why would you worry about that
0:55
It won't actually delete your Google account, you can log into it later on anyway
1:00
So this doesn't really matter at all. System and app data, again it doesn't really matter
1:05
Once you boot up your device, install apps and stuff like that, it will recreate those
1:09
files again, so those don't matter either. Downloaded apps, again, you can just re-download them through Play Store, so again it doesn't
1:16
really matter. But the things that do matter is, for instance, music, photos and user data
1:21
If you're not storing your photos on the Google Cloud, then you will lose them
1:26
Same with music, if for instance you don't use Spotify or any kind of cloud music, and
1:31
you just keep it locally, then you might want to back it up beforehand or you will lose it
1:35
And obviously user data, so any kind of documents, whatever you did, download on this device
1:42
you might want to back that out as well. Now once you have created a backup, assuming you want to, if you don't, that's completely
1:49
fine too. In any case, you can just proceed by typing erase all data
1:53
If you have some kind of screen lock, you will need to confirm it right here
1:57
And then select erase all data. Give it a couple minutes and this will continue through the process all by itself
2:05
Once it's finished, we should then be greeted with the setup screen. So I'll be back once that is actually visible
2:20
And as you can see, the process is now finished and you can set up your device however you like
