Welcome, in front of me is a Sony Xperia 1 and today I will show you how to go through the setup process of the device
0:10
So on the first step, when you boot up the device for the first time, you will have the choice to select your desired language
0:17
For me it's already select the correct one, but if you use a different language, just feel free to choose another one
0:24
From there, tap on Get Started, then Import Information, so I'm aware of Import Information, which you can tap on it to actually view what it is
0:36
Then I'm aware of Data Change and some other policies, so looks like we have to agree to them all before we can actually move on
0:49
Then we have Internet Connection, so we can connect to either mobile or Wi-Fi, or completely skip it if you want to
1:00
For some reason it just goes to an SD card, oh there we go, there is the Wi-Fi
1:07
So here you will have all the lists of Wi-Fi that you can connect to
1:11
From which you can choose your Wi-Fi and then put in a password
1:15
Now I'm going to skip this just to save a little bit on time
1:19
Then you have Date and Time. Now this should be normally set correctly by default
1:24
If you have chosen your country correctly or all the time zone where it asks for a region, or if you connect to Wi-Fi it will also set it automatically
1:36
So let's tap on Next. Then we have Google Services, so there are some things that you can disable or keep on depending if you want it or not
1:47
You can tap right here to basically read the entire list, but you have Location which will allow apps like Google Maps to know where you are located
1:58
So it gives you an accurate route for instance from point A to point B where you are trying to use it as a GPS
2:06
Then you have Scanning which just scans where you are. Also Google Maps uses it along with using it to kind of know where you are at the time
2:17
So it then asks you some annoying stuff like how did you like the restaurant, although I haven't seen that in a while now
2:23
And then at the bottom the last thing you have is Send User and Diagnostic Data
2:27
So again it just kind of scans what you do on the device and sends it to Google so they can improve the user interface and other stuff in terms of usability
2:39
Now you can disable all of them, but things for instance like Google when you disable location it will pop you up a message that it needs access to location and you will need to turn it on
2:48
You can tap on Accept here and set a screen lock. Now again this is optional, by default it looks like it caters to PIN, but you can also change it to be Pattern or Password
2:59
So you can choose a different one. Now again you can skip it right at the bottom here
3:03
If you're going to choose to put one in you will have to insert it once, then tap on Next and then repeat the same one and confirm it
3:12
And here it asks to also add a fingerprint. I'm going to skip it for now
3:19
And anything else? Nope, no thanks. You're ready to go. So let's tap Finish and we are now in the home screen
3:33
So that is how you would set up your device. And if you found this video helpful don't forget to like, subscribe and thanks for watching
