Welcome! Everyone on me is a Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus and today I'll show you a couple
0:07
tweaks and the tricks you can do on this phone. So let's get started by opening up our settings application
0:17
and here we can navigate to the display where we'll find several different things
0:21
that I'll showcase. So number one we have the light and dark mode. Now this is the typical thing that you would find probably
0:27
film correct throughout the setup process but you also have additional option which
0:30
isn't visible throughout the setup process which is scheduled dark mode. Once enabled allows you to select either from sunset to sunrise or on a custom timer
0:38
and this will make it so the phone switches between these two modes automatically
0:42
based on your selection. Now moving back we have also color scheme
0:48
This allows you to change how vibrant the colors are on your display
0:52
So for instance if you find that the colors are a little bit too overdone
0:56
on the device you can change it to something else which will be a little bit more toned down
1:01
You also have advanced settings which there we go but you can actually customize it on an RGB basis or also pick from the two
1:11
predefined color supposedly accurate options on the P3 gamut or the sRGB
1:19
Now continuing on we have refresh rate. Here we have two different options. We have the default refresher which will utilize both of the accessible refresh rates
1:28
which is either 60 or 120 depending on the need. So the way that defines this is if there is a moving something on the screen like for instance
1:39
this ball jumping through then it will automatically crank up to 120 hertz
1:44
Now this does consume a little bit more of the phone's battery when it's running at a higher
1:47
refresh rate so when you're not doing anything it drops it down to I believe 60 or possibly
1:53
I'm not sure if this is an LTPO display don't remember it
1:58
If it is it can drop it all the way something down to something like
2:02
one hertz meaning one frame per second to preserve as much of the battery as possible
2:08
Now for the people interested you can also go into the custom and here you can select a custom
2:13
refresh rate so you have a choice between the 260 or 120 and this will lock it to that refresh rate
2:18
So for people that don't really need the higher refresh rate for the you know eye candy maybe you
2:24
just read a lot of books you probably might be interested in 60 which will give you probably
2:27
a little bit of a better battery life just with screen on time. Now continuing on let's go a little bit further down where we have the control center and status
2:41
bar and we have a couple different toggles associated with our control center or more prime
2:47
for me more like the status bar. I personally like the device to have as clean of a look as possible
2:53
so what I like to do is get rid of the notification icons. Now it completely hides them though if you
2:58
pull down your notifications they are still present in here so you can still access them read what the notifications you have. Additionally you have also things like the carrier name which
3:07
I believe is disabled by default so you shouldn't see your carrier name but if you do you can turn
3:12
that off in here and you can also I think change the name of it might be that I need to have a
3:18
SIM card in to actually do that. Now below that we have also battery indicator we have three
3:24
different ones so if you want a little bit more clarity you might be interested in the last one
3:29
will be a little bit easier to see with the percentage being outside a bit bigger for people
3:36
that just want again like me something that looks cleaner I like to have it set to the percentage
3:43
that is inside of the battery. Now moving on we have home screen and in here we have the home
3:52
screen style basically so we have three different options right here light mode is going to be the
4:00
the one that is designed for probably elderly people that are a little bit more visually
4:03
impaired with the icons being significantly bigger less of them being able to fit on the screen
4:10
Then we have the two more normal modes so we have the classic one which it's classic but for iPhones
4:15
so not sure why Chinese companies always do this. Now this is the default one for Xiaomi which what
4:24
it is is basically all your applications smack in the middle of your home screen on spread throughout
4:29
the different pages but we do have the option to have an app drawer which is classic for Android
4:35
which this is by the way and once enabled give it a second it needs to reload and now you have all
4:41
your applications below here. Now one thing that Xiaomi has done with their app tray they actually
4:49
added columns in here or categories more like so we have communication entertainment and you can
4:55
edit those you can create your own new categories if you want to delete ones that exist and just
5:01
move them move them around which makes it significantly easier to find certain applications
5:06
Now that being said when doing this I probably recommend to make something like a very short name
5:12
so you don't have to scroll through this this makes it a bit less convenient and in all honesty
5:18
there is better ways of having this done as an example I will show up how it's done on my device
5:26
or not really on my device this is a custom launcher smart launcher and what they did is add
5:32
categories at the bottom as an icon which you can just flip through and automatically when you
5:36
install applications it does get sorted to its category and there is no all apps option so here
5:44
by default you are always in the all apps as you can see when you close it and reopen it it goes back to all
5:53
so moving on to the last option it's going to be the gesture navigation
5:58
which I will probably need to spend a little time to actually find it not in here
6:07
let's try to search for it oh my god come on let's try a different name
6:38
so Xiaomi tends to name their different functions in the most stupidest way possible
6:57
so they do sometimes work under the sort of gestures but as you can see
7:02
gestures gives me now finally how did I miss that the first time not sure but yeah it shows up
7:12
so here we have the two different methods we have the buttons and we have the gesture navigation
7:16
now I personally prefer the gestures just because it gives a little bit of a cleaner look to the
7:20
device and I do also like to utilize gestures with the curved display it makes the bad gesture
7:26
swipe so much nicer you don't have to you know do finger gymnastics to hit that back button
7:34
button somewhere below you can just while holding the device swipe like this and it works really
7:39
flawlessly and so generally in my opinion a much nicer navigation style and also feel to the device
7:48
now let's go back to that search so I can check we also have the option to hide full screen
7:55
indicator which is this little option or bar at the bottom if you toggle that on it just gets rid
8:02
of it again this adds a little bit more of a clean look on top of the already clean look
8:09
the functions work still the same so you swipe up to go home swipe up to swipe up and hold to go
8:14
to recent applications and swipe from either side to go back that being said the back gesture is
8:20
still visible when you swipe so don't worry it's just the bar that was visible at the bottom that
8:24
is now invisible now with that being said if you found this video helpful don't forget to hit like
