Welcome, I'm Fenom, this is a Xiaomi Redmi Note 9T and today I will show you how to go
0:13
through the setup process of this device. So when you boot it up for the first time, you'll be presented with this screen right
0:19
over here. And to get started, simply press on this tiny little arrow right here and select your desired
0:26
language from the list. I'm going to go with English. And then you can choose your region
0:34
Now this will bring you then to the terms and conditions. Nothing greets you better than a brand new device like agreeing to those, so you need
0:42
to select it and then we can move on. And this will then bring us to the insert SIM card page
0:48
Now this page is completely optional, you don't actually have to insert a SIM card. The reason this is here is so you can for instance skip connecting to WiFi and still
0:56
have internet connection which will then allow you to log into your Google account
1:00
throughout the setup process. But assuming just like me, you're not planning to log into your Google account right now
1:08
or maybe you don't have a SIM card, whatever the case may be, you can simply tap on an
1:12
arrow and skip this step along with skipping the WiFi connection. Now one additional thing is if you skip both of the network connections, so either through
1:21
SIM or through WiFi, date and time will probably not be correct and you will then need to fix
1:27
it manually because it is set by the internet usually. So I will skip this for now
1:33
And this brings us to the Google services, so we have location, scanning and sending user and diagnostic data
1:39
You can read exactly what these do and if you don't like them, you can toggle them off
1:42
and at the end go down and select accept. Then have set password, so this will basically allow you to set protection to your device
1:51
that would be a fingerprint and pin pattern or password as a screen lock
1:55
Now if you're planning to use a fingerprint, you are required to set up some kind of screen lock, but the other way around, a screen lock does not require a fingerprint
2:04
Now I'll set up just a pattern here. Now it does give us a 4 second block telling us that we need to remember our password
2:12
like no duh. So let's draw our password, then repeat it once more and this will then confirm it
2:19
Then I have some additional settings, location, sending diagnostic data automatically, automatic
2:23
system updates, personalized ads and user experience programs. So in general, some of those repeat from the previous Google services
2:33
Some of them are just, I guess, might be some decent ones
2:39
And some of them are just absolute garbage spying trash, like personalized ads
2:46
And just before I toggle that off, I just want to point that out because this is just like, so good
2:51
You toggle everything off, right? Literally everything apart from the personalized ads
2:55
You see, it just toggled off no problem. I'm gonna retoggle it just so you don't think that last toggle might have something to do
3:02
with it. Are you sure you want to toggle off our personalized ads, which basically gather information on
3:07
what you're searching for on the internet and then give you ads based on that
3:12
You search for dog food, hey guess what? You're getting dog food ads
3:16
So yeah, turn off. And also unintuitively, if you've seen this, it basically gives you a turn off option and
3:24
a gray instead of the blue. Like it's normally when you confirm something, some action that you're trying to perform
3:31
So yeah. Now, the reason why I'm kind of going into this specifically, because I just hate this
3:36
kind of setting, the setting that spies on you in a way
3:40
So I know why I stopped on it. But anyway, once we go past this, we then are presented with the default launcher
3:48
So we have two options here. It's majority of the Androids do these days
3:52
So we have the classical one, which honestly, when it comes down to Android, the drawer
3:57
is the classical one. But the classical by name is something that I would compare this device to looking like
4:05
an iPhone at that case, because all your applications that you install and already have installed
4:09
on the device will be smack in the middle of your home screen and there won't be any app drawer
4:14
Now app drawer will allow you to keep your home screen a little bit cleaner and have all the apps alphabetically hidden away and just like a drawer with all the apps as the
4:23
name suggests. That's what I'm going to be sticking with. And then we have setup complete
4:28
Up on an arrow and loading apps and we should be presented with the home screen in just
4:33
a nice second. And there we go. So this is how you could set up your device and if you found this very helpful, don't
4:46
forget to hit like, subscribe and thanks for watching
