So in front of me I have the Quest 2 and today I will show you how to reset the device through
0:14
recovery mode. Now, the reason for that would be, well, you might have a couple of reasons
0:20
One of them would be maybe you want to sell it or for instance maybe you want to clean
0:25
off all the data from it. Whatever that case may be, I can do it simply by going into the recovery mode the same way
0:31
that you would do on an Android with the difference that you do have to kind of look at the lenses
0:37
to see it. So, number one, we're going to need to turn it off
0:41
So let's hold the power key. Now I'm going to put it to my face so I can actually see it
0:45
Let's actually grab this. There we go. So now that it's turning off, let's give it a second and it should turn off
0:57
There we go. So once the headset is off, what you want to do is hold the power key and volume up
1:04
So both of these keys at the same time and this will take us to the recovery mode
1:14
So you can see that the screen lit up. And I'm going to bring up my phone just so I can launch through a camera so you can see
1:25
what's inside. There we go. Now the camera is really working a little bit wonkily in there because of the way this
1:37
is made, but you can clearly see that there is a little bit of an Android with no command
1:42
written on it. So to get past this, all you need to do really is hold the power key and press volume up once
1:51
And you can see that it went further by the color on the screen. And I can just bring the camera back, drop it in there and you can see there is the recovery mode
2:00
So from here, what you want to do is select wipe data factory reset, which is like right
2:06
basically where the glare is. So you move it down. I'm going to do it like this maybe
2:14
So there we go. It's selected. There we go
2:24
This is way better. So you can see inside. There we go
2:30
One lower wipe data factory reset is right now selected. You can see it inside
2:36
And to confirm it, press power key. I can't really do that right now
2:41
So I'm going to basically press power key and then it changes to
2:50
Come on. Get the focus. So we basically have to scroll down and select it to confirm it
2:56
And there we go. So as you can see, cancel factory data reset
3:02
So select the factory data reset as it is right now and then power key once more
3:12
And you should see it basically finish up the process. So at the bottom, you can see in a white text data wipe complete and also reboot system
3:24
Now it's selected by default, the first option. So let's press power key once more
3:29
And I'm actually uncertain what's going to look right now, but there we go
3:34
So we can see the Oculus logo and it's just going to be booting up
3:39
Now once this is finished, we will be in the setup screen now, unlike normally, which we
3:43
will be in the Android setup screen. And here we will see basically the Oculus setup
3:56
Okay, so it's basically finished. You can see it barely in there
4:01
So right now we could just set up the device or pack it if you want to sell it, for instance
4:07
So that is how you would hard reset this device, factory reset
4:12
