Welcome, a friend of me is a Samsung Galaxy M21 and today I'll show you how to set up
0:12
the device. So when you boot it up for the first time you'll be presented with the language select
0:16
screen right here. So let's choose our language
0:29
And from here let's just tap on the blue arrow. Connect to mobile network
0:33
Now this is completely optional. You can do it or just skip this. I don't have a SIM card so I'll skip it
0:39
Then check out some info to get started. As you can see, end user license agreement
0:47
Let's sign away our Solred here. And then tap on next. You could agree to all of them but you don't have to
0:55
Then you have the WiFi connection. And you can choose to connect to one or skip it
1:00
I'm going to skip it for now. The only benefit of it is it will set the time automatically and also allow you to log
1:07
in to Google. But if you skip it, I can later on connect to your WiFi and do that as well just after
1:15
the setup. Copy the apps and data. Now this process would allow you to move your old device content to the new one if you want to
1:25
If you want to, just go to next and follow the on-screen guide. But I'm going to be setting it as new
1:31
And if you're doing that too, you can tap on don't copy
1:36
And again there's the data and time settings. Now like I said, this will be set automatically if you're connected to WiFi
1:44
And actually it is set correctly anyway. So the time right now is correct
1:49
I guess I don't have to set anything. I have Google services
1:54
So we have delocalization and send user and diagnostic data. So localization helps things like Google Maps to figure out where you are
2:08
So it gives you a good route to where you for instance want to get
2:13
And also just tracks where you are. So later on it spams you with crap like how was your experience in XYZ restaurant
2:22
It's kind of annoying. Then you have the send user and diagnostic data
2:30
So basically tracks what you're doing and sends the data to Google
2:34
Now you can disable both of those. When it comes down to localization, some apps will require it
2:42
Just keep that in mind. It will usually prompt you to enable it if you want to use a specific app that requires it
2:48
From here tap on accept. And you have the protect your phone
2:52
So you can set some kind of protection on your device. Now I'm going to choose a pattern
2:58
But if you want to add something else like a PIN or password you can
3:02
And also you have the face recognition and fingerprint. Now if you choose either one of those or both of those
3:07
you still need to have either a PIN, pattern or password. The two first ones, which you can set both of them
3:17
will always require one of those three on the bottom. I'm going to go just with the pattern
3:24
So let's draw that, continue. Redraw that once more. Confirm. Get recommended apps
3:37
For some reason calculator is a recommended app. I guess the device doesn't come with one
3:42
I'm going to disable all of this. Let's tap on next. Then you have the Samsung account
3:51
Now you can log into this one. If you want you can skip this
3:55
It will give you access to these apps right here. So you have Samsung Cloud, Galaxy Theme, Find My Mobile and Galaxy Store
4:04
Now if you don't care for either one of those, you can just simply skip that and never bother with it
4:10
But if you for instance want to change the theme of your device and download one from their theme store
4:16
or whatever you want to call it, you will need an account for this, even though they're free
4:21
Some of them are free. You'll need to log in. Now I'm going to skip this, I don't really care
4:28
And then we're all done, so let's tap on finish. And there we go
4:34
And that's basically the setup. If you found this video helpful, don't forget to hit like, subscribe and thanks for watching
