Welcome from me I have a Poco M3 and today I'll go for unboxing along with a quick overview of the device
0:14
so starting up we're gonna unbox it obviously packaging fairly simple colors make it feel like it's trying to go for this
0:25
cyberpunk release dates but it a little bit missed the mark. So let's pop it open. Nothing in here so straight to decide
0:36
I'm gonna also get go a plenty in the way. Um, and here it feels like we might have a case and yep, there it is
0:46
So, case for the phone. And unnecessary paperwork, so spray back into the box and out of the frame
1:00
Then we get the phone. More paper. Charging cable and..
1:12
Well, the charger. That's all we get in the box. So, there we go
1:16
Out of the way. And the charger itself is a... What is it
1:23
It's a 22.5 watt max charger, which I believe is faster than the phone case
1:29
chart for if I got it correctly the phone charges at 18 watts all the
1:35
charger itself is apparently rated for 22 if you can see it from here
1:40
hopefully you can actually get it in that light so yeah okay so there's a
1:50
charger and a type C to type a cable I'm gonna set these to the side for
1:55
now and go for the phone obviously on here we get a bunch of information about the device itself so I'm just completely
2:07
gonna disregard and mention them later on oh that is actually really nice
2:16
there we go I'm gonna pulse up to the side
2:30
It looks really nice. Like I said, it kind of makes it feel like they went for the cyberpunk theme
2:37
If you've seen a One-plus is making, well, the kind of like a limited edition cyberpunk phone
2:43
And it's just kind of like glass or plastic, not really sure what that is
2:49
Frame right here is really looking like it straight from there, from the phone
2:54
And also, if you consider the fact that they also have what they call Poco Yellow
3:00
version of it so this is the I believe gray one or black one I think but they have also the yellow one the yellow one is even more
3:08
cyberpunk light in terms of like the color signature this one has this plastic back but it does have this texture to make it kind of look like a leather or something like it
3:21
I'm not sure if it's visible on the camera can hopefully see it so it does look nice but then to the touch it just feels kind of
3:29
the cheap I would say but let's say let's power it on there we go and as
3:37
can see it's turning on so while it's turning on I'm gonna mention that the phone does come with a 6.53 inch display and you should see it in a second once
3:46
it actually fully boots and hopefully I won't be blinding with the lighting
3:52
again so now this is just an LCD IPS display suddenly no amulet or
3:59
of any sorts so this won't be getting super bright just putting that out there
4:07
and apart from that it does have a full HD resolution so 1080 by 2340 with a
4:13
83.5 screen percent screen to body ratio quickly find English whatever no there we go
4:24
also has a 395 pixels per inch so fairly nice I would say that's because the resolution is 1080p and also when it comes
4:38
onto the glass on the front it is a gorilla glass 3 now seems a little bit
4:43
behind but still this device is in a way a budget phone so the specs of it
4:51
really show that it's actually a budget phone which you will see in a second and
4:58
then it's actually On I will mention a couple things so we already seen it does come with a USB type C
5:05
because of the cable. I do have a microphone, a speaker grill right here
5:10
Then we have something that probably I didn't expect which is a headphone jack
5:15
Also it looks like some more speaker grills, microphone I believe and if I am correct the last
5:23
hole right here, the one that is actually not necessarily a hole, I believe this is the
5:28
the IR sensor so you can use the phone as a remote control if you choose to
5:33
So, let's change up the team quickly. Okay, and there we go, we're basically finished with the setup
5:44
Come on, anytime. Any time will be good, just finish up loading the apps
5:52
Okay, and there we go. So let me quickly max out the brightness so you can get a quick idea of
5:58
how max brightness looks like and this is maxed out right now it is a little bit
6:06
lacking I would say in my personal opinion but it could be worse I seen way worse honestly now just as a comparison this is going to be an Ammolet display so you can quickly see the difference in brightness this one obviously
6:26
being in my opinion brighter so yeah. Okay so moving on it does have a triple
6:36
camera setup at the back on paper in reality you have only one camera
6:42
and now explain what I mean by that. So the main sensor, which I believe is the one in the middle
6:49
is a 48 megapixel wide sensor. And that sensor will most likely be okay
6:55
But then we also have the two trash sensors that manufacturers decided that it's okay to include nowadays
7:00
just to rack up the count of cameras on the back. And you pay for something that is just completely useless
7:07
and if not, most of the time just makes the photos look even worse than the camera
7:11
look even worse than they should because 48 megapixel sensor should be doing
7:16
okay job but when it's included and portrait with the two megapixel depth I
7:22
now you're looking at a photo that is just gonna look utterly garbage and trash
7:26
and just literally gonna break the photo in my opinion and then we also have the
7:32
worst offender which is the two megapixel macro and I mean worst offender
7:37
because if you if you compare a 48 megapixel photo to a
7:41
a 2 megapixel depth photo or not that macro meant in reality the 48 megapixel
7:49
will have far more detail higher resolution and just overly look better than the 2 megapixel
7:54
macro but you don't have to take my word for it we can launch the camera and
8:01
basically look at it ourselves and there is our glorious subject right here so let's
8:06
just allow whatever trash it asks me here for so we're gonna start off
8:11
I believe it's going to be a normal one. So, it doesn't look like it's turning on any portrait, so that's good
8:23
Okay, so this is going to be the normal one. Hopefully, let me quickly check
8:27
It should be fairly apparent, and yeah, this is the normal one. And it looks really good
8:31
Actually looks better than I expected in terms of the subject separation
8:35
Let me bring it up to the camera so you can maybe quickly get a look. So pay attention to the needles right here
8:41
They are all in focus even though for instance they go over over the white pots that is there
8:48
So anything behind is blurred as it should be but pine needles aren't because there is no software that is trying to make a fake bouquet effect
9:00
And overall the photo might like a little bit in overall If you know what I mean there's like nothing really making it stand out
9:11
but in general it's a decent photo. Let's just put it this way. It does keep detail
9:17
fairly good and it looks okay. And now if we switch to our glorious portrait mode
9:24
which will I presume when I use the depth sensor, I can already see it's gonna look
9:33
like utter trash. Come on. Could even come out blurring
9:45
Oh no, there we go. Oh, ooh. Ooh. Okay, let's go. Oh my gosh
9:51
That is not even a comparison. That is not even fair. So, what is this
9:57
Like, come on. This photo is now just trash. You can just literally throw it out along with that lens
10:03
It's worth nothing. If you pay attention, like, the needles are just completely blurred out
10:10
because the 2 megapixel depth sensor does such a great job but sensing the depth that it cannot distinguish between what's the foreground and what's the background, making this photo just trash
10:25
And if we go back to the actual 48 megapixel alone, you can see that the camera here did a fantastic job alone
10:32
It didn't need any 2 megapixel trash cameras that just rack out the count like I said to do anything
10:38
It already did okay job without it. But with it, it did poorly
10:43
So, thanks. I would really like to throw out that camera. It's completely useless
10:49
But, hey, we're not done yet. We still have a macro. So again, we're going to go to More
10:56
And I'm going to specifically select the 48 megapixel sensor because before, even though I was using the 48 megapixel sensor
11:03
it wasn't shooting at full resolution, and now it will. And this will be a comparison between the macro and the 48 megapixel
11:11
That isn't supposedly a macro. So let me quickly gauge how close I can get to the subject before it starts blurring out
11:19
And it looks like right about here. There we go. So this is the 48 megapixel
11:28
Quickly you can get a look at it. It looks okay. It has way more detail to it
11:36
detail to it looks decent so now let's go back and find our macro which is most
11:42
likely hidden because it's just a trash lens and that's what they do they include
11:46
it and then they hide it somewhere so maybe it's in photo here yep there it is
11:53
so I just turn on the macro and now get a good good macro photo with a two megapixels
12:06
Okay, so this is the macro. Let's quick reason
12:16
Honestly, I mean it did okay, better than I expected. But if we compare this to this
12:29
I believe this has more detail especially if I would move it a little bit even further back because the main focus was a little bit further behind The stuff that supposed to be in the forefront right here is a little bit blurred out
12:45
That is just my fault here. But, yeah, the back, as you can see, the further back, it is in higher detail
12:54
So it is in focus a little bit further back. so I moved it a little bit off so that's just my fault so the photo could look better even
13:04
and if we zoom in here this is° that we can zoom in but it looks okay I hope it is
13:12
visible on the camera it looks okay here but it does a lot additional detail that the 48 megapixel
13:19
did have now it did capture it better than I expected honestly for two megapixels but it
13:25
still lacks behind the 48 megapixel which captures better macro than the dedicated macro
13:31
and thus proving my point that it's completely useless if a main sensor that supposed to be
13:39
good at capturing just photos there's a better job at macros than the dedicated macro lens
13:44
then something is not right here but that's kind of I guess what it is nowadays
13:50
but going back to the beginning of what I said the two
13:55
The two sensors, the two megapixel lenses are complete trash and you could basically tape them up and not use them ever
14:02
Especially the depth sensor. The depth sensor just breaks the photos and it's
14:07
it's the worst offender that have seen so far So I would strongly stay away from the portrait photos. They will literally
14:16
Portrait photos will use the that one and that lens and does basically break your photos
14:23
So try to stay away from that one. But other than that the macro, I guess if you want it you can use it even though the 48 megapixel will do a better job at it
14:33
But then we also have the front facing camera as you can see in the drop, teardrop right here
14:39
And this is, from what I remember, it was the 8 megapixel white sensor
14:44
So the front and the back can shoot at 1080p 30 frames if you want to capture video
14:51
And in terms of photos we can switch to the camera right here
14:54
and get a barely bad photo from what I can see. Um, so..
15:05
So, yeah, it is a, it is a bad photo. And there is detail locking. It is overexposed right here, even though it shouldn't be
15:19
Um, the background is just kind of gone. almost if I can barely see it maybe a little bit as you can see there is a light
15:29
which should do a way better job at lighting me than this did so yeah yeah so
15:37
this one not so good okay and now moving on to the specs of this device
15:46
we need work a little bit quicker to the specs of this device so this one is
15:51
rocking a Snodragon 662 it's not 5G of any sort so you're not
15:59
basically future-proofing for anything here it does come with two versions of
16:05
storage you have 64 and 128 gigabytes storage and both of them come with 4
16:11
gigabytes RAM now the funny thing here is we have two versions of storage types
16:16
so the 64 gigabyte will come with a ufs 2.1 while the
16:21
28 will come with 2.2. Difference between them probably fairly subtle, but the difference will be just in transfer speeds
16:29
I'm not exactly sure how much faster it is, but it's not going to be anything that you will notice, honestly
16:37
because primarily the processor on this device won't be fast enough to even utilize the speeds of the drive anyway, so..
16:46
Or drive meaning storage. So you won't be really seeing any kind of
16:51
bottleneck from the storage itself but if that is important to you the
16:57
128 gigabyte version will have a little bit more more speed in terms of
17:03
read and rights so if you try to capture some kind of high high fidelity footage
17:08
or you already have like 4k videos whatever for whatever reason if you try to
17:14
edit them on the 128 gigabytes it's gonna go faster than on the 64 because of
17:20
the storage types And then moving on further, the device does come with 6,000mall power battery, which they do advice even on a box, like it's their main focus here, the battery apparently
17:36
And it does come with apparently 18 watt charging, but the charger itself is a 22 and a half, so I'm not sure if just what I wrote down is correct or is it a little bit..
17:51
sure what the deal here is. Either it's 22.5 because of the charger speed or it's 18 and
17:57
you just get a better charger for it. Anyway it's not much of a difference to be honest
18:03
but it should still charge your device fairly quickly at 18 watts and the device should last
18:09
you a fairly long time because 6,000 million-hour battery is quite big. And then the device
18:18
does have a side mounted fingerprint which can kind of see in this cat-out
18:21
right here but let's flip it to the side and you can better get a look at this
18:26
fingerprint sensor so as you can see there it is I could set it up as well so
18:31
that's probably gonna be the best way to showcase it by setting it up
18:35
so I'm gonna do that once I can find there we go security and let's add a
18:40
fingerprint pattern and now the thing that I'm a little bit sad about is the
18:47
device doesn actually have any kind of NFC so if you like to use your phone for paying use it as a card you won be able to do this with this one so sorry I guess and then lastly
19:05
the device has a couple different colors so like I said the one that I have here is a what they
19:10
call power black because they just couldn't call it black I guess we have also
19:15
poco yellow which I believe it's basically the same color as the box right here but I
19:22
could be wrong I don't actually have it so I can't really verify it but from the
19:26
pictures it looked fairly close to it so that's kind of why I'm saying it and then
19:30
we also have the cool blue so obviously I only have the black one and that's kind of
19:37
what I can look at and like I also mentioned before the yellow version of it looks
19:42
like it's literally trying to basically get the color schematics from from
19:49
cyberpunk just so it kind of looks like it which is I would say it kind of a
19:55
smart idea because it does retain the black area right here so it looks really nice honestly but now that I have added the fingerprint let's just quickly so
20:06
you don't even have to press it you just top on it like I'm
20:12
not pressing it. The only time when I'm pressing it is when I actually locked the device. And you can see it does work fairly well. It is
20:22
looking to be reliable. It's not the fastest one. I think it could have been
20:29
faster if the processor here would be better. But this fingerprint works good, I
20:34
would say. It is definitely a fingerprint that you can use and you won't feel like
20:40
you're losing something in your device. So yeah. And now finishing this off, the price tag
20:48
this is a budget device and it comes around $150. Now, depending where you are from
20:55
anywhere outside of US, you should also add the tax to it. So I'll say it's probably going to be like
21:01
$170 in this case, something like that. So convert that to whatever currency you're using
21:09
and bam there we go that's the price for the device now this is kind of a rough estimate
21:15
of the price it might change if you were buying at this device throughout for instance
21:20
Black Friday you probably could have gotten a way better deal on it but other than
21:26
that for 150 I would say this is a fairly good device it does come with a fingerprint
21:31
sensor it's not sure how it unlocked it right now whatever so yeah fingerprint sensor it
21:38
does have a fairly okay of 48 megapixel camera and overall the battery here is just
21:43
stellar 6,000 malle amps is just outstanding and also adding that on the
21:50
device isn't necessarily chunky because of it so you can see this is not like super
21:55
big for instance this is a mate 20 Pro a little bit on all the device but you can
22:02
see the thickness of them it's a tiny bit thicker but not by much
22:08
So for basically a huge battery this device is taking fairly limited space for it and
22:17
other than that it has a nice aesthetic now I would probably like to see the yellow one
22:21
more it's just kind of looking a little bit more eye catchy but the black one is
22:27
okay and the only problem that I have is just this plastic bag which just makes it
22:33
feel really cheap it does have this leathery texture to it almost or look but once you touch it it just kind of feels cheap and
22:43
overly the phone is made out of plastic so it won't be oozing quality feel
22:49
out of it you know and also lastly I'll also just use the case just so you can get a
22:57
look of how it looks like with it if I slap it in here
23:07
These corners are always a pain. There we go. There's one. And there is two
23:17
So, the casing for it makes it look a little bit weirder
23:25
I'd pretty sure how to explain it, but the texture that was on the back
23:30
all this semi-plastic leather, now has a little bit more of a defined look
23:37
to it. I'm not really sure how to explain it. I think it's just because of the
23:41
grading on the casing itself. And let me quickly maybe wipe it down so it's
23:46
physical on the camera. I don't think you can see it that good. It did make it
23:54
pop more than it did before which is weird. I don't know if I like it or not
24:02
but it's there. And one thing that I don't like is the black right here and that
24:07
was reflective, it's not as prominent as it was before which I really enjoyed the
24:11
like distinguishing this distinguishing piece right here and it looked really nice but but the case itself is really nice inclusion if you want to protect
24:21
your device and also it covers up the camera bomb so your phone won't wobble in
24:26
anyway so that is also a positive here but at the end of the day with everything
24:33
that the device comes with and what it offers I would it's a fairly decent device and it's worth the money if you're looking for one
24:41
It's something really outstanding here. Like I said, the specs are mediocre but this device is budget
24:47
and it does deliver everything that I would expect in this price range honestly
24:52
So that being said, if you found this video helpful, don't forget to have like, subscribe and thanks for watching
