Welcome and follow me as a Motorola RAZR 5G and today I'll show you how to enable and
0:11
set up the portable hotspot. And to get started, simply pull down the notification panel and look for the hotspot toggle which
0:18
for me is right here. It's called hotspot. So before you tap on it to enable it, you want to hold this and this will take you to
0:25
the settings where you can customize a couple of things like let's tap on Wi-Fi and from
0:31
here you can customize the name of it so you can change it if you want to keep it as it is
0:36
It's completely up to you. Security, I would keep it as it is and then if we tap on advanced we actually have the
0:41
choice for a password. Now by default it's generated some random password so you can remove it if you don't
0:47
want it and set your own which is what I would recommend. Now it does need to have 8 characters in length
0:53
Once it does you can tap on OK and it will be saved
0:57
So once you change the password, this is probably the most important section right here because
1:01
like I said they're generated randomly. Once you set your own, people now will be able to connect to your hotspot knowing the password
1:09
Then below that we also have the AP band. So we have 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz
1:16
Now the 5 GHz AP band is strictly for Wi-Fi and it has nothing to do with the 5G capability
1:23
of the device. Just putting that out there. And overall I would suggest to go with the 5G or 5 GHz Wi-Fi that will ensure a more
1:36
stable and faster connection. But I'll also mention that some older devices and I mean older in terms of like 2015 might
1:44
not support it. Flagships from that time might have supported it but probably like mid-range to low in 2015
1:53
and below that probably did not. So a good option here is to enable it and then enable hotspot which I cannot because
2:03
I don't have a SIM card in here. Is to basically enable it and then look for the hotspot name in the Wi-Fi list which would
2:10
in this case be Motorola RAZR 5G 5984 and if you don't see it that means that your device
2:16
doesn't support 5 GHz and all you need to do is just go back to the settings right here
2:22
and change it back to 2.4 and you're golden. And if your device supports it then it will just see the 5 GHz network without any kind
2:31
of problem. So once you set all that up you can leave it and basically forget about this section
2:36
ever again and all you need to do is toggle it from the notification panel simply from
2:40
here and for some reason I can toggle it from here. So there we go
2:46
Now I'll also mention that once you turn on hotspot I do advise you to remember about
2:51
it and disable it once you're not using it. This will prevent you from draining your battery excessively for no reason
2:58
So yeah. Once you're done all you need to do is tap on it to turn it off
3:03
And that is how you would set up the hotspot. And if you found this very helpful don't forget to like, subscribe and thanks for watching
