Welcome, you're following me as a Samsung Galaxy M22 and today I'll show you how to
0:12
enable and set up the portable hotspot. To get started, you want to pull down your notification panel and look for a hotspot
0:19
toggle, which for me is right over here. Once you find it, hold the toggle
0:25
This would normally take us to the settings of it, but because I have the airplane mode
0:29
on I first need to turn it off to actually use the function of it for some odd reason
0:36
Can't change settings if you're in airplane mode. So now if we hold it, it moves us to settings and we can quickly tap on configure, which
0:45
will allow us to change the password and the name of the Wi-Fi that we'll create with it
0:50
So and select the password, set it around, if you don't like it, it needs to have at
0:56
least 8 characters in length before you can save it. And also Wi-Fi, again if you don't want to change it somehow you can shorten it or completely
1:06
change it to something else, it's completely up to you. And lastly we do have the AAP band, or just overall band, however you want to call it
1:16
That will allow you to change it to 5GHz or 2.4. Now I do recommend you to try the 5GHz, not every device will support it, some older devices
1:29
and I mean like older by like 5 years and more, older probably will not support it
1:35
but you can simply check if it does support it, because if it does then you will have
1:42
an advantage over the 2.4, 5GHz Wi-Fi is more stable and overall a quicker connection
1:49
so you will have more of a benefit using it. But if your device does not support 5GHz, then when you turn on your hotspot it just
1:58
simply won't see the hotspot at all. And if that is the case, simply go back here, change it back to 2.4, save it and everything
2:05
should work just fine. So from here, save our settings, and we don't actually have to come back here ever again
2:12
assuming we don't want to change anything. And whenever you want to enable your hotspot you can simply tap on this toggle
2:21
And there we go, hotspot is right now active, you can see the icon and it looks like there
2:27
is no notifications associated with it, you only get this little circular pop-up there
2:33
Now once you're done with the hotspot, do turn it off, because it is using number 1
2:37
your Wi-Fi antennas as a broadcasting method, so during hotspot being active you won't be
2:43
able to actually use Wi-Fi, you will only be relying on a mobile network, and additionally
2:48
it does consume more battery. And like you've just seen you turn it off by simply tapping on a toggle once more
2:56
