Welcome, I'm Philong, this is an Asus ROG Phone 5 and today I'll show you how to put
0:10
this device into safe mode. So to get started you want to hold power key and once you see the boot options right here
0:20
focus on the power off, so normally you would just stop it, but what you want to do here
0:24
is hold it. This will bring up this window at the bottom right here, so reboot to safe mode and with
0:31
the message do you want to reboot into safe mode, this will disable all third party applications
0:36
you have installed and they will be restored when you reboot again
0:42
So let's just press on OK and while it's rebooting I'm going to quickly describe what this mode
0:48
is actually for because this is not really very specific in this description
0:54
So basically in the safe mode all the installed apps by you will be turned off and they won't
1:01
be able to start nor will you be able to launch them and that is strictly for testing purposes
1:08
So if your device is having some kind of problems, as an example your battery is draining way
1:12
too quick, quicker than it should be, what you could do is as an example put your device
1:17
into safe mode and see if some kind of application is causing your battery to drain quicker than
1:22
it should be by extensively using your device as an example. And as an example if that problem doesn't persist in safe mode then you have a clear
1:32
and definitive answer that whatever you have installed is causing you that, but if as an
1:37
example your battery continues to drain in this mode then you probably have some kind
1:41
of battery problem itself, so it's more of a hardware based rather than software
1:46
And as you can see all the games that are installed here, you basically can't launch
1:51
them anymore, all apps are disabled in safe mode, so yeah. Widgets usually are disabled as well and only the most essential apps are working, so as
2:01
you can see messages will work and phones and all that stuff will work just fine, but
2:06
any kind of app that you have installed, so basically any app after the setup is turned
2:11
off and you cannot launch it nor can the app launch itself
2:16
And on top of that you do also have this little watermark right at the bottom just so you
2:20
are certain that you are in the desired mode. And that being said, once you're done with this mode, to leave it all you really need
2:27
to do now is hold the power key and this time around simply press on restart
2:31
When the device boots back up it will go back to the normal mode
2:45
And there we go, as you can see we are now back in Android. So if you found this video helpful, don't forget to hit like, subscribe and thanks for watching
