Welcome and finally is a Huawei P-smart from 2021 and today I will go over
0:13
unboxing Alan with an overview of this phone so popping it open I will mention that it
0:18
already was open because I did set it up we have a couple things like this
0:26
interesting little paper which Huawei started to include ever since they lost access to Play Store
0:33
So we have basically a bunch of things that they think we might be interested as a substitute to Google
0:40
So what is it, Petal search? Which basically is just a typical Google search that you have on your home screen
0:49
Then we have phone clone. This is actually not really a substitute
0:54
This is just a option for you to clone your phone and basically move everything from an old device to this one
1:00
This actually has a really nice option and on top of that it will actually allow you to move apps that are on the app gallery from Huawei
1:09
So, for instance, if you have some kind of app that just the developer decided or didn't want to move their app to their specific store
1:18
then you can simply make a clone of it and move it from your older device to this one, as long as you have it on your old device
1:25
which is a really nice option here. And obviously we have the app gallery which substitutes the Play Store because they don't have access to it
1:32
Now on the back we do have some kind of Huawei VIP service and whatever some QR, whatever
1:38
I don't care really. Okay, let's move it to the side and then we're called the phone right here
1:45
So, there's the phone. Now on here we got no casing, unfortunately
1:51
And basically all we got is a Simaject tool and some paperwork. So, I just, again, throw that to the side
1:58
I don't really care for that. Then we get a charger. So this is a weird 22 and a half watt charger
2:08
Now it is a fast charger at least, so that's really nice
2:11
So I'm going to set that over here. And then we got a cable. So this is a Type C to Type A
2:17
You can see cable. No, didn't want to actually take it all the way out, but whatever
2:24
So there we go, as you can see, type C, type A
2:30
So, nice. And it looks like we also have something in here
2:37
So we do have earbuds. Now the device actually has a headphone jack
2:41
Okay. So the buds look like other garbage. I just thought I would mention
2:48
So I wouldn't really expect much from them. I'm not going to be really testing them. but they are included if you wonder so there we go now let's move to the actual phone so
3:00
right of the bat you can see this display I mean max all the brightness it looks even
3:05
better so the display here it's actually for the price that the device comes in I
3:12
actually have to say that this is a really good good display it's a 6.67 inch
3:18
1080p by 2400 iPS display it has a 84.3% screen to body ratio so fairly minimal
3:28
bezels which you can obviously see right here and comes with 395 pixels
3:34
per inch so again that's because it is a full HD display
3:38
it is fairly dense and it will look really nice honestly because of that
3:43
now it's not going to be any kind of like hybrid refresh rate display with any kind
3:48
of OLED blacks and stuff like that, so don't expect it. But for the price that this device comes at, this display is really good, I would have to say
3:58
So yeah. Now moving to the back, we do have a quadruple camera setup
4:04
Now, it looks like a quadruple camera setup in reality. That's just a dual camera setup
4:10
Those two lenses below that I would not use them I would not recommend you to use them They basically garbage Trash there Just make the phone look a little bit better like it better than it is
4:21
which is just a scummy way of trying to do, to sell your phone
4:25
Because some people will think that the more cameras it has, then photos must be good
4:32
But the two cameras that are here are just useless. Literally you could tape them up
4:37
and capture better photos with them not being taped up. So going over the cameras actually, we do have a main pixel shooter which is a 48 megapixel white sensor
4:49
Then we have an 8 megapixel ultra-white and then the two useless ones are two times 2 megapixel depth and macro lenses
4:58
So that the macro and depth are just complete trash and almost likely be able to show you that on the video here
5:04
So yeah. So let's actually pop out the camera and get straight to prove it
5:10
how bad those cameras are. So we have the normal photo right now mode
5:16
which we'll use, I believe, the 48 megapixel. No, never mind, this is the high-res
5:21
So this is the 48 megapixel sensor, its full capability. So let me just capture a photo of a plant
5:31
There we go. Okay, so moving out of the high-res, I'm going to also capture a normal one
5:47
If my hand could not actually shake, that would be fantastic. There we go
6:00
What else we got here? Portrait night, aperture, video, more. more I'm looking on the real there is the super macro let's see how that one performs
6:19
okay so there we get the super macro which let's see and there should be also an ultra wide I can find it
6:39
There we go. There's the white sensor. So... Okay
7:03
So now that I captured a bunch of photos, let's look at them and see what we got. So this is going to be the white sensor
7:06
Obviously, this is terrible. Let me move it away closer to the camera. way closer to the camera and flip it there we go so what i would consider to be main subject here is
7:15
this plant and this plant looks like utter trash that has no detail whatsoever the charter is a little bit
7:25
of more in detail but still it's at least a lot to be desired from a photo especially if you're
7:33
planning to capture something at a further distance it's just going to become a little bit of a
7:38
blurry mess of nothingness so moving on to the next one this is going to be the macro photo
7:48
and it is high resolution but it loses detail it is a little bit i wouldn't say grainy but it's not
7:57
clear especially when you zoom it in it doesn't provide you with that that macro
8:04
a macro detail that you look for in this kind of shot
8:09
And honestly, I do have to say one thing. It came out better than I would have expected it, but it's still bad
8:17
Now moving on to the next one, this is the normal one, just the typical photo mode
8:24
And we can zoom in. And honestly I think this has a little bit more detail right now It cannot be zoomed as far but it in my opinion has a little bit more detail than the macro photo
8:37
I can see these kind of like weird strands of, from the needles that are coming out
8:43
I don't know how to call this. This kind of like white fuss, but you can see it like individually, which is something that wasn't really visible on the macro photo
8:52
So now if we move to the 40 megapixel like full capability, here it is
9:00
So again, the focus is somewhere right here. I don't know if it's visible on the camera
9:08
But again, it honestly looks almost the same one as the normal one. And that's not a bad thing
9:13
It's a good photo, I would say. It has detail. Although the background is a little bit blown out for some reason
9:22
now this was actually maybe this is the this could be the 48 megapixel full
9:31
capability but it just it's a little bit blurry and yeah that's about it's about it
9:40
so obviously the two mega do two sensors that I said are more not necessarily
9:47
the greatest a macro is respectable but you know what I Let's see, where is my phone
9:58
There we go, found this. So I'm going to put this away
10:03
I'm going to get my phone, and I'm going to capture a actual macro photo
10:08
So let's get to it. It's my camera. So, just if you're wondering, the phone that I'm using right here is a, well, a phone from like 2018, I think
10:22
the make 20 pro so it is already a I would say an old phone right but let's see how it
10:29
actually does with for instance macro so let's look at this now that is an actual
10:44
macro photo again this phone doesn't boast some majestic 100 megapixel macro lens
10:52
This is just a actually done correctly. Flagship device from way back
10:57
that does it way better than whatever they claim to do here
11:01
And this is the same brand. This is also Huawei, as you can see
11:06
So there's no reason for this to be included in this phone
11:10
Even though it is a cheap phone, I would have preferred to not see those lenses at all
11:15
rather than see them just in general. So, yeah, we got okay one sense
11:22
I would say and actually that's about it. We don't have the good 48 megapixel sensor which can capture decent photos. Anything else I would not use. It's basically useless
11:32
Now that being said let's move on further. So at the front we got just a 8 megapixel white sensor and I'm not going to be actually using it because I do have dual
11:46
layer of protection on this phone so there is this. Let's try to show it. So you can see, you can see, you can see
11:52
it right over here there is the plastic one that comes pre-applied which is a nice thing and then
11:58
there is also glass on it and the glass kind of goes over the sensor so this sensor won't probably
12:02
capture as good of a photo because of that so i'm not even going to be testing it due to this but anyway
12:09
moving on to actual specifications of this phone we do have a korean 710a uh 128 building storage
12:17
comes with eight gig or not eight four gigabytes of ram And let's quickly see what we get for storage expandability
12:30
We got an actual SD card and also another as a SIM train
12:33
So you can put two different SIM cards on here and a dedicated SD card
12:38
And yeah, it's actually really nice here. So that going to be nice Meaning you can actually expend the storage further past the 128 gigabytes that the device comes with So really nice here
12:53
Now moving on further, it has a 5,000 million-opower battery, so this is basically my huge battery here
13:01
It's almost like a power bank rather than a phone. With a 22.5 watts fast charging, which they claim to charge your device to 46
13:11
in 30 minutes. Now I haven't only tested it, so I am uncertain how close that is to reality
13:17
from their test lab, but that's basically what I claim. And also we have a side-mounted
13:22
fingerprint sensor right over here, which doubles as a power key. And one thing that I see here
13:30
which I need to check just to be sure is the lack of NFC, which would be a real shame
13:39
Nope, it is NFC. So we need to see. So we need to be a real shame. have NFC. Now, one thing that I actually don't know is how NFC will work on Huawei in terms
13:48
of if you want to use it to pay for stuff in the store using like normally Google Pay or any
13:55
kind of bank app because I have no idea if bank apps are accessible on the app gallery
14:03
considering whatever the security problems that they have. So yeah. But, but
14:11
it does come with NFC which is nice and apart from that the device comes at well a
14:17
fairly compelling price of around 150 around dollars pounds something like that so it is honestly a really cheap device and it packs a lot of features for for
14:33
the price now it might sound like I'm kind of bashing on this phone for the past
14:38
10 minutes but honestly there is some things that they could have skipped like
14:44
adding the two lenses and and probably lower the price even further making it
14:50
even better deal while keeping things like the really good display in here
14:54
type C charging for headphone jack those are all decent parts of it
14:59
fingerprint sensor on us on the side they they could have even dropped it lower by
15:05
not including this as an example the three three cameras that are basically useless
15:10
and just stick to the point that you know want to make a good budget device that actually functions
15:18
and people can use it no still at $150 this is a really compelling price and
15:24
the device works well I can really say it doesn't really lag or anything can see that it is
15:31
fairly snappy it's not going to be a flagship snappy but still for 150 bucks
15:37
this has got to be be probably one of the better phones in terms of performance that I've seen
15:42
But it has a glaring problem, which is a play store, or lack there of a play store
15:50
So you're losing access to any kind of play store, any Google services, so a map, Google Maps
15:57
Gmail, all that stuff is gone and either it's substituted by something that Huawei has made
16:03
or by basically nothing. and also you're locked into their app gallery which assuming it has apps that you're
16:14
looking for well then you're golden but if it doesn't you're kind of screwed so it's a
16:20
little bit of a trade-off you do have a fairly compelling price tag but you do have to
16:24
deal with the lack of Google services assuming you rely on them more than some
16:30
people then this might be a complete bummer for you and this might make the device
16:34
unusable for you. But assuming you don't actually rely on their apps or Google services
16:40
and I would have to say this is a really good device. And yeah. So that being said
16:46
