Welcome
0:02
Infoomone is a Xiaomi 12x and today I will show you how we can go to the setup process of this phone
0:16
So when you put it up for the first time you should be presented with the screen right over here
0:20
so get started by just tapping on an error right here and finding your desired language
0:25
For me there will be English. and we can select our region and next page we have terms and conditions so in here I
0:37
can tap on the agreement or user agreement or and privacy policy to read them but let's
0:44
be honest at the end of the day one probably reads them and we all select that we have read
0:50
it and go to the next page now this will start checking for our SIM card so if you have one
0:56
you can pop it in and it will start working no problem if you don't you can completely
1:00
disregard this page there is no discernible difference if you insert a certain card right now or
1:06
later on it just will start working it just works so yeah the only reason for it to be here is so you can
1:17
choose to either connect to network through your mobile network or through Wi-Fi
1:22
this is kind of an option if you're planning to utilize that if you're
1:26
the setup process for logging into your Google account or such that is here for you
1:32
But I'm not planning to do so, so I'm going to go to the next page. And here's the Wi-Fi page
1:36
Now, like I mentioned before, I'm not planning to log into it, so I'm just going to skip this as well
1:44
And this will take me to Google Play Services. Now, there's a couple of changes that will occur because of this
1:49
So, number one, I won't have the Google login page visible at all. It will just be skipped
1:54
and number two date and time will show up as an option right here so I can fix it up assuming it going to be incorrect If you chose to log in to your Wi or maybe you insert a SIM card
2:08
your date and time will be set automatically, so you don't need to worry about that
2:14
Now going to what we have right here, we have a couple of Google services
2:18
so we have location, scanning, sending, and then sending user-and-diagnostic data. So quickly going into all things
2:27
three of them. Location is just GPS tracking for applications like Google Maps so they
2:32
can give you an accurate route to your destination. Allow scanning basically allows a device
2:37
to look for signals like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and then send user and diagnostic data allows
2:43
Google to virtually gather data on you. Basically allowing them to spy on you in a way
2:48
So I'm going to disable that and go to the next page. Now next page is our screen lock option
2:57
So if you want to set up some kind of screen lock, there is your chance
3:01
You have option between fingerprint and obviously just a typical screen lock being pin, pattern, or password
3:08
Now obviously, if you're planning to use a fingerprint, you are also required to set one of these up as well
3:14
So if something happens to your finger or to the fingerprint sensor, you still have some way of accessing your phone
3:20
Now, I'll be setting up only a pattern right here. So once you choose one, it gives you this stupid info, remember your password
3:27
like it's not the most obvious thing. So I'm going to draw once and then a second time around the same pattern
3:36
Confirm it and there we go. It's now set. Now this will bring us to additional settings
3:43
The most favorite part of the setup. So right of the bat, these are all the things that you have
3:54
not all, but probably some of them that have already. seen but from Google but these are from show me now so have location allow apps to websites to access your location Also like no thanks I primarily use everything from Google so I don really care if
4:12
show me has access to some of those things or don't care I don't want
4:15
to have access to some of those things so I just kind of disable majority of them. I notice them around I'm just going to kind of like
4:22
showcase that I did turn off one and that I'm going to just as you can see
4:27
I'm sure that can turn off every one of them. And the reason why I'm doing this is because of this tiny little option
4:32
personalized aids, I mean ads. So what this is, is basically personalized your ads based on what you're searching for
4:42
So the device basically constantly checks on what you're searching or maybe what you're saying
4:46
and then gives you ads based on that. And as you've seen, I could disable all these tagles without any kind of problem
4:53
But hey, you try to disable personalized aids, I mean ads. and you get this little pop-up
4:57
with also counterintuitive tuggles. So it's trying to give you some bullcrap excuse
5:03
that it is actually better for you because we all care so deeply
5:09
about our ads being tailored to us by creepy AI softwares, right
5:14
So, yeah, and then if you're trying to turn it off like a logical person
5:18
you'd probably press on this button, but no, no, no. This is now reverse psychology here
5:23
because we all are accustomed to having our confirm button to what we're trying to do on this side
5:29
So, no, no, no, no. Show me decided to flip it around. So turnoff is right here
5:34
Also, it's not in blue because why would you be confirming something? You're denying the confirmation of whatever
5:42
It is the most stupidest thing you can see. So, now that we have disabled the personalized ads
5:50
we can go to the next page, which actually just gives us this pop-up right now for screenluck
5:55
Now this is just a kind of like a screen saver not screen saver just a slideshow of different magazine or whatever you want to call it images wallpapers that it will just cycle through every time you press the power key when you on a lock screen So they change every time you light up the display
6:14
I don't really care for that, so I'm just going to not use that. I don't really like their completely random wallpapers and they are quite random
6:25
So I'm just going to turn them off and then go to the next page, which allows me to choose my default landfurt
6:32
So this basically just gives you the option to either use your app drawer like a typical Android device would with you sliding up to access all your apps that are neatly tucked away
6:44
Or you have the classic version which is basically like the iOS experience with all your apps smack in the middle of the home screen
6:53
Personally I think they should be flipped around considering the classic is the Android version which is the app drawer and then just name it
7:02
pseudo iPhone or something. But yeah, you can select right here which one you want
7:07
I'll stick with the knobjure. I like my stuff vanilla, so that's what I'm going to go with
7:12
And this will finish up our setup. So let's select right here. It's going to start loading apps because it had no time to do that before
7:24
And we should be presented with our home screen at any moment now
7:32
Ah, there we go
7:46
So there is our home screen. So as you can see, that is how you could go through the setup of this phone
7:54
