Welcome, I'm from my Zsays Samsung Galaxy A-31 and today I'll go with
0:10
unboxing along with a brief overview of the device. So let's start off by popping it
0:15
open and seeing what's in the box. We're from a flimsy cardboard right here but made a
0:21
lot of noise. Get some paperwork I assume. Yep, paperwork, and that's about it, nothing else in here
0:34
So just grab that, drop it to the side, then get the phone itself, as you can see
0:38
Now I will mention that the phone has been already set up, and we'll go back to it soon
0:44
Then inside of it, we got a really cheap-looking headphones. They almost look like they've been straight at a dollar store
0:53
And that's about it. Now, their headphone jack based, as you can see. so I assume the phone has a headphone jack which I'll look soon and we got the cable
1:03
itself I can see type A to type C and then we get the charger now this is a also
1:11
really unremarkable charger it's a 15 watt max on 15 watts and then also we have the
1:20
SIM inject tool right in here I just dropped both of these back in here and the paperwork
1:26
so I have a little bit more space. And also let's pop this off
1:41
There we go. So, there we go. That's the phone. Now, as you can say
1:48
it's already set up. So let's unlock it. And the first thing that I can see is probably
1:55
well, the display, obviously. Now this is a 6.4 inch display, so it's a fairly big one, with a resolution of
2:01
1080 by 2400, and it's a super Amulet display, obviously it's Samsung
2:07
and it comes with an 84.9% screen-to-body ratio and 411 pixels per inch
2:16
So those are the main specifications of the display. Now also at the front of the display, you have a 20 megapixel wide sensor that shoots at
2:24
and 80p 30 frames. If you're wondering, it's a selfie cam. And also, while I'm saying
2:31
we can look under and there's the headphone jack. So you don't need any kind of adapter for
2:37
the type C2 headphone. And also while we're on the subject of cameras, we can flip it back
2:46
over and get a good look at the quad camera setup. So the main pixel shooter is a 48 megapixel
2:54
white sensor then we got 8 megapixel ultra wide 5 megapixel macro and 5 megapixel depth sensor and all that
3:04
does well not much for video quality at least in terms of resolution and you can only shoot at 1080p it's 30 frames
3:14
so there is not even a 60 frame option now i will also mention that while i'm kind of talking down to the device or about the device
3:24
It is a fairly budget one. It costs roughly $200, so I, well, maybe I'm not showing the greatest light on it
3:35
But the device for the price that it costs, I would say it's a decent device
3:39
I do really like Samsung operating systems and their devices. So keep that in mind that it is about a device
3:49
Now, I just came out from a different unboxing of a, what was it P40 Pro Plus which is a super overpriced device but hey I did the cameras correctly at least So that why I kind of maybe sour about the low resolution and low frame rate on the cameras here but in other words it I would say probably a respectable
4:13
camera we're going to snap a couple photos I won't be bothering with the video you can mess around
4:19
with that yourself now going back before we actually start the camera test I'll finish up
4:27
the specifications of it so it has a couple variants it's a either 4 or 6 gigabyte version, RAM version, with a Helius P-65
4:37
And also in terms of built-in storage, you have option between 64 and 128 gigs
4:44
Now, the 64, which is the base-like-lowest version, only comes with a 4-gigabyte RAM
4:50
while the 128 has the 4-6-gigabyte RAM versions. now if you're wondering which one you should get I'll probably say go for more than
5:03
four if you can afford it if not well then stick what the one that you can but the more
5:10
RAM I would say the better storage can be expanded via SD cards so you can later on
5:15
if you start running out just buy an SD card slap it in there and expand your storage
5:20
by double triple or quadruple depending on what how big of the storage you will get
5:25
and apart from that the device comes with a 5,000 milliamp hour battery
5:33
and well not too great of a charging only 15 watt fast charging
5:38
if you can even call that fast so it is fairly fairly slow I would say compared to every other standard nowadays
5:46
so the charge is probably I would say the weakest part of this
5:52
even and like budget price range, I'd really like to see a little bit of a better charger
6:01
And outside of that, the device comes in several different colors. So the one that we have here
6:07
it looks like it's the blue one I'll assume. Let's see. Where's the box
6:14
It's more precisely called a prism-crashed blue. Now all of their phones has the same name
6:20
So all of them are prism-crashed. And you have, between black, blue, red and white. So I expect they will all look roughly the same in terms
6:33
of like the design as you can see. The light is kind of reflecting and making a little bit more
6:38
than just blue color here but if you put it in a different angle you can see that it's primarily
6:43
blue, just depending on what angle you hold it at. You can see there is this weird kind of like
6:50
shaping here with different kind of like texture out sense. well the texture is just a glass or plastic smooth but you have like weird lines in this part
7:03
and while this is just different shades it's kind of hard to show those off but yeah
7:10
so assume all of them will be the same just different colors and let's get our little
7:20
prop in here there's the nice shark the bandit shark and can snap a couple photos just to see how well
7:33
it does with the camera so I know there's a macro lens I'm not sure if I have to enable
7:41
somehow there we go macro so I want to see how well it does when you get it really up close
7:50
So it's already losing focus. So right about here, it looks like that's basically the optimal place
8:04
Let's quickly look at how that came out. So it did okay it isn necessarily mind especially in this area As you can see the red color starts to really blend together
8:21
It doesn't really look like that in actuality. Just as an example, let me quickly set that to the side and bring my own device
8:32
and see how my phone will do against it. against it, which I assume might be a little bit better
8:38
So I just as a, well, just to say this is the Mate 20 Pro
8:46
So let's see how this goes. This is not even the closest I can get
9:00
but I can already see the massive difference and the quality of it
9:03
and also if you look up there there is a little bit more detail in it you can see you can see
9:10
some bumps in it and it doesn't really look like this kind of blurry mess so you can get a
9:19
comparison of how it could look like how honestly when it comes down to color accuracy
9:28
I would say neither of well neither than my my device or this one
9:33
has it correct. On here the red is just way too bright and vibrant while on mine is
9:40
the exact opposite it's more washed out. But let's try to capture a couple other photos
9:47
without using a macro lens and see how it does in this term. It's also a capture maybe an
9:59
ultra wide. Okay, let's see how those came out
10:10
So this is the ultra wide, and I don't think it captured the focus on it
10:14
I think it's actually the focus on the monitor, not on the prop. Let's try it again
10:19
Can't really set a focus right here. Let's see that maybe this will come out better
10:34
Now obviously ultra-white is most certainly not designed for taking such a close photos
10:41
It's more of an open area so I'm just trying to see how it comes out in this case so you can see how it looks like here and how it does on the photo
10:52
But the ultra-white isn't coming out too well. at least not how it's supposed to, so I'm not even going to count that in
11:02
So I believe this was the macro, at least looks like it
11:07
and then this was the standard one. As you can see the standard one a little bit
11:12
roughly the same kind of quality in it. I just bigger, I think, bigger resolution of this photo
11:22
but other than that, the quality of it is really similar. again both of the lenses I would say struggled with the red color as you can see in
11:33
both areas it is way over saturated and here it loses a little bit more
11:39
detail I would say well adding or well making it a little bit less saturated
11:45
but it's still too much of it yeah so that would be the camera test now I can
11:54
and also pop the selfie one so you can see how, for instance, hair and stuff like that look like on it
12:02
So let's do that. So let get a look So there is not much detail in this As you can see the hair starts looking really blurry and loses a lot of the detail but for instance as
12:24
you can see the camera as long as you don't zoom in super close it looks okay the
12:31
resolution of it isn't necessarily the greatest but as you can see it does have a
12:36
lot of detail in it and the well zoomed out version once you start like looking up
12:42
close you will see that it starts suffering but probably probably the primary thing is it
12:48
doesn't really do any kind of like bouquet or crappy bouquet effect and here so it doesn't
12:56
look like my hair is blurry in the and the back and then sharp in the front so that's good so yeah
13:04
now apart from that you can also look at the visual aspect of this device so we have on
13:12
the left side we have the sim tray I believe yep it's a sim tray and it looks
13:18
like it's a fairly one of those white ones I think no we have space for one
13:25
SD card and two different SIM cards so it's dual sim and that's about it on
13:32
this side then on my right side we have the volume rackers power key and
13:37
that's it then at the bottom obviously the headphone jack Type C charging port, a microphone along with the speaker
13:46
And on the top, just a microphone for the loudspeaker. And that's about it
13:52
At the back you already seen it. Not much going on here, just a quadruple camera along with a flash
13:57
and just a little bit of a bump going on with the camera
14:02
As you can see. So yeah, probably if you don't want your phone wobbling
14:08
I assume you will need to have a case. as you can see the wobble here is present
14:14
not just to be expected honestly it's not as bad as I would expect it
14:20
but it's still there so if you don't like it probably a case will be a good option for you
14:25
and yeah so this would most likely finish up the overview of the device
14:32
and to conclude it for $200 I would say this is a fairly decent
14:40
device it doesn't excel in anything it's a budget phone so it's all around a decent
14:48
device well without actually succeeding at anything specifically does okay photos as
14:53
you've seen works okay I haven't really seen it struggle with opening stuff and
15:00
lagging any kind of sorts of stuff like that I haven't tried gaming on it
15:05
really but you can be sure that there will be videos like games running on this
15:10
on our channel so if you want to look at that you can search for it and you
15:14
should most certainly find something and apart from that the display is nice it's an
15:19
Ammellate display which I am always happy to see and the device is really slim also
15:26
lightweight it doesn't weigh as much as a brick the quality isn't
15:31
really premium feeling but then the price tag isn't premium either so I'm not
15:37
expecting anything of that sorts. But if you're wondering if this is the device
15:43
for you, I would say it's a decent all-around budget device and if you're not looking
15:49
for something that will be doing some massive performance heavy tasks or for instance, I don't know, capture
15:57
DSLR picture quality, then this phone should be just good enough. And
