Welcome
0:02
In front of me is a Redmi C9 NFC version. And today we're going to go over unboxing along with an overview of the device
0:14
So let's pop it open. Now I already did cut the foil as you can see and did go through a setup of the device so we don't have to sit through that
0:24
So simply let's pop it open. There we go. Nothing in here, as you can obviously see
0:33
So, there we go. Out of the shop. Then we got a phone itself
0:43
So I'm going to set it aside for now. Inside of here we got... looks like maybe a case or not
0:56
So just a paperwork along with a SimEject tool. So nothing special
1:06
Then we got a cable. Unfortunately this is a micro USB 2 USB
1:14
So a little bit disappointing. Again, just throw it to the side
1:19
Then we get a charger. Now I believe this is a 10 watt
1:24
Look at it. So, yep, let's say 10 watt, nothing really special
1:36
And that's all we get in the box. So now let's get into the phone itself
1:43
So there it is. And straight off, the first thing that we will see is the display
1:54
I'm not sure if this is max brightness, so yep, it looks like it is max brightness
1:59
change the wallpaper to something a little bit brighter. So hopefully this will look a little bit better
2:24
So, going to it. The first thing that you can see is the display
2:31
So that's a 6.53 inch display with a resolution of 720 by 1600
2:38
So just an HD resolution unfortunately. And it's an IPS LCD display, so again that's kind of why it's so dim
2:48
Has 81% screen-to-body ratio. Really nice. Obviously you can not really see the bezel, the bottom one
2:57
until I just pull up the... There we go, so we can now see the bezel right here
3:05
So it is fairly big compared to the rest of the bezels all around the device
3:11
But still, it looks fairly decent and like I said it's 81% screen to body ratio, so it looks okay
3:17
Now the density of this display isn't anything super amazing at 269
3:26
9 pixels per inch. So a little bit behind the I would say norm in 2020 and that is strictly because this is a 720p display instead of a 1080p
3:40
And outside of that on the display as you've seen we have the notch or tear drop notch for the camera
3:48
and that houses a 5 megapixel white sensor. Nothing really super impressive here
3:54
So we can get a look at it. There you go and that's kind of how we can see it
3:58
So there it is. And then if we flip it over to the back, you can see that we have a..
4:04
Now it looks like it a quadruple or triple camera setup but in our reality The bottom right one is well just nothing It a circle to I guess fill up the square here
4:18
and not really sure what's the purpose is. It looks in terms of shape and how it is designed like it's a sensor
4:25
Then probably on the camera it might look like it, but if you zoom in and look closely
4:31
the circle inside is filled out and there's really nothing there. Now this isn't any kind of sensor
4:39
The phone actually has only two sensors at the back. So primary one is a 13 megapixel wide, and then we have a 2 megapixel macro
4:48
So it actually sounds like we only have one sensor here. For the majority of the time, I'm expecting the 2 megapixel macro to be just completely useless sensor
4:57
and that can be outperformed by the at least 13 megapixel camera
5:02
but we'll look at it shortly just to see if that is the case here as well. and all that combined shoots out 1080p 30 frames along with the selfie one same thing 1080p 30 frames
5:15
so no 60 and honestly for the price that this device comes in I'm okay with this
5:22
what I would like to see for the price that comes with is the type C charging port
5:28
this device was released in 2020 so I expected to follow standards of 2020 devices
5:34
which means have a type C port. The just micro USB, in my opinion in 2020, is unacceptable
5:43
No matter what the price range of your device is, budget budded buds have a undercharging case type C
5:50
so I don't see why a phone cannot do the same. But that being said, let's go straight to the camera
6:02
So there we go. Open up camera and capture a couple photos
6:11
So I'm going to get it from a little bit of a lower angle
6:24
It will make it a bit harder to see on the phone but I'm going to show you the results of it after I capture it
6:34
I'm going to be. I'm trying to find out of the
7:06
lens, as always they're just hidden somewhere. I'm
8:06
So I cannot seem to find the macro here which is well I not going to say not expected Some of the manufacturers when they put the macro lens that is well 2 megapixels
8:31
they make it hard accessible just so you cannot really get to use it and complain about it
8:37
If you can't find it, you probably will forget about its existence
8:41
It does also not use it and does also not experience the quality of it
8:46
So in here it looks like this is the case. I just genuinely cannot find it
8:53
I have no idea where they stuck that lens. So yeah, I'm not going to waste more time trying to look for it
9:11
This just kind of seems to be redundant. Obviously, Redmi decided to hide it purposely
9:18
It is most certainly somewhere there. I just cannot waste the time to be bothered to look for it honestly
9:25
But obviously you can see the normal lens result here and this is the 13 megapixel sensor
9:32
And for all trends of purposes, this is doing a fairly good job at taking pictures
9:36
The colors of it are fairly close to how they look like normally
9:41
They're not overly saturated, which is a nice thumbs up here. Now obviously on the camera this will look completely different
9:47
obviously the phone right here and the screen of it looks dimmer and just not really close to what I can see right here
9:56
But in reality for me, it is not accurate, but it's closer than what I would expect
10:04
A majority of these cheap lenses or cheap phones tend to oversaturate their images so it looks a little bit more vibrant and more interesting
10:13
But here they decided to stick with something that looks a little bit more accurate in terms of
10:17
of color reproduction rather than something that is more flattering. So just get out of the camera and move to the last part of this which will be the hardware
10:33
of the device. So for a hundred dollars you actually get a fairly decent device I was kind of surprised by it
10:41
So it has a Helio G35 which is equivalent to like the
10:47
p-22. They're almost roughly the same. It has a couple variants in terms of size and RAM, so we
10:56
have 32 and 64 and depending on which one we will go, you will have either two gigabytes of RAM or
11:01
three. Now I strongly recommend if you're going for this device to pay a little bit more
11:07
it probably won't be much more, but the one gigabyte of RAM might make a big difference
11:12
And also on top of the RAM you will also get a bit extra more
11:17
storage on the device itself. Now outside of the storage that comes with the device actually, the 32 or 64
11:25
you can expand it further via an SD card. So you can just pop a SD card there and you can probably expand it up to a terabyte I assume
11:37
At least 500 gigabytes is acceptable. And then furthermore, the device comes with a 5,000 million-power battery
11:46
and the thought part is it has a 10 watt charging so I wouldn't say that as good but for a hundred
11:54
dollars honestly I cannot complain today I reviewed two other devices both of them costing basically
12:02
twice as much both of them having a micro USB port and both of them having 10 watt
12:10
charging so honestly this costs or close to half of what the other devices costed
12:16
has the same performance, same charging, so I just cannot say anything bad about this
12:24
For a budget device, I have a fairly low entry price, honestly, for a hundred dollars, this is an
12:30
amazing price This device outperforms majority of the things that I had here and tested when it comes on to like the super low price entry point
12:43
And the only thing that comes to my mind at that price range were the Huawei devices, but
12:47
those cost it as much, but we're lacking in features. And when it comes on to performance, it might have been equal or a little bit better in terms
12:55
of the Huawei. But it still kind of felt bad. This device doesn't actually have this
13:02
It does run smoothly, as you can see, turning pages there is not much of a lag
13:07
It turns smoothly, just doing anything, just run snappily. I don't see any problem with it
13:14
And for $100, that is more than I would expect from such a price range
13:21
Now, you also have a fingerprint sensor, which is another thumbs up. Unfortunately, it is on the back, kind of outdated placement for a fingerprint sensor
13:32
Also, it is fairly high as you can see. You do have to kind of hold the device a little bit to the middle to reach it
13:40
So maybe a little bit lower, like right here would have been better. Somewhere like here, you can see it just almost a centimeter under the one that exists
13:50
Then you could actually normally use your thumb to navigate and actually still access the fingerprint sensor
13:57
but still the inclusion of it for the price that it comes in is really nice
14:02
Now, like I said, this device right here is the NFC version, so obviously it comes with NFC
14:10
but they also have the same one without the NFC. And if you're the type of person that pays with your device, you can do it with this one, but
14:18
if you go for the other one which could be cheaper, you will not have the option to pay with
14:26
the device. So if you prefer to, if you like to pay with your phone, the NFC version, maybe you'll be able to pay
14:32
sure you opt for the NFC one. Now even on a box, you can see, after I dropped it
14:42
that it does say right here, NFC, so make sure you look for that. And the device comes
14:51
with three different color options. So the one that I have right here, I'm assuming, is the
14:56
midnight gray. And it does have this, at the first glance, kind of looks like a car
15:02
carbon fiber, but it's not really looking like it. It has just this kind of lines that just smudge all over it in a way
15:10
I don't really sure how to explain it. It's just, you can see it
15:15
So this is the midnight gray. There is also a sunshine yellow and twilight blue
15:21
Although this could be it. So, in any case, three different color variants
15:29
all with their interesting naming schemes. And yeah. So finishing this off for $100 of this device comes in
15:38
it is an amazing device. The price range and what you get with it can be barely beat by anything
15:45
not that I can think of. Like I said, the only thing that I have had at this price range
15:50
was Huawei devices, and those have some glaring flaws, like missing, for instance, the Google Store
15:59
and any kind of Google services. while this device still retains everything Google related, as you can see
16:07
So for the price that this comes in, it's an amazing device. And if you're looking for a really low entry price for a really decent smartphone at this price range
16:16
and even I would say this would hold up to almost mid-range in terms of how it performs
16:22
I cannot think of anything better, honestly. So, yeah, hands down, a really amazing device would recommend if you're looking for a cheap
16:31
phone. And if you found this video helpful, don't forget to hit like, subscribe, and thanks for watching
