Welcome
0:02
In front of me I have one of the new iPhones and today are
0:10
over unboxing along with an overview of this phone. So going straight to it, let's pop it open
0:17
As you can see this is one of the thinnest boxes, probably out there
0:22
along with basically every new iPhone 12 that was released and this is the iPhone 12 Pro
0:29
Pro Gold Edition, so you'll get to see it in a second
0:34
There's also 12 Pro Max along with 12 and also the 12 Mini
0:44
There we go. This is one of the nice rumboxings in terms of how it feels to just open it up
0:52
Instead of like this cheap foil, it's fairly nicely packaged. and pop it open
1:03
So let's set that to the side. Straight of the bat, you can see the phone right here
1:10
This is way more pale of the gold color than I expected
1:14
but as you can see, the edges of it are just popping. That's nice
1:20
That looks really premium. Although the bag seems really pale. As you can see, you can see
1:27
compared to the actual sides of it. This almost feels kind of like a little bit washed up white color
1:40
like it's just dirty up. So yeah, let's just set it to the side
1:46
And obviously, as you can see, it's one of those phones that doesn't come with the charger
1:51
And also, it's a type C to the lightning. So I don't like this one bit honestly
2:01
Not only are they including, in my opinion, the wrong cable for the majority of the people
2:05
because they never included the charger with Type C unless you bought one of their newer products
2:10
aka a MacBook which comes with a fairly decent brick that is Type C or
2:19
well some kind of Samsung device or anything that was released this year out of like the flagship device
2:26
devices came with the charger that was type C. Chances are if you don't have
2:31
anything relatively new this cable is completely useless to you. So that's shame
2:38
But in here, paperwork, now we don't really care about it. You do actually have a
2:43
sticker if you care about that one so yeah. And that's basically all we get in the
2:47
box as you can see this cannot be removed so yeah. So let's set that to the side and move to the actual
2:56
phone. So, let's get a good shot of this one. So, just put that to the side. And let's perm
3:16
This is the power key. There we go. There we go
3:26
There's some weird flickering on a camera but this isn't actually happening to me
3:35
This is just a, I believe the camera refresh rate which is picking up on the phone
3:40
Which doesn't really look that great but bear with me. So straight off we're presented with this relatively nice display in terms of how it looks
3:52
like the bezels and stuff. Now I am not the greatest fan of the knot right here and for
3:59
some reason Apple still retains it. I guess if you spend enough money on a face ID you're
4:04
probably gonna want to keep it around even though the tech and the idea of it already is outdated
4:13
So let's let's quickly go through the setup process. There we go
4:33
So the display right here is a 6.1 and Super Retnow XDR OLED display
4:42
So this is one of the more premium experiences you can have on a phone
4:48
Now I don't think this is a any kind of a higher refreshment
4:52
display so that's a little bit of a shame here so it's going to be I believe
4:58
60 frames per second display so honestly that kind of feels bad for a device that
5:06
comes around 1,000 euros let's just choose a network right here so outside
5:15
all that displayed as HDR 10 certified surprised that they didn't go for the
5:20
to the R10 plus considering its peak brightness is maxing it at 1,200 mids and average
5:28
I believe it's 800 so it's from 800 to like 12,200 so this is a fairly bright
5:33
display when it needs to get really bright now let's just give this some time
5:39
there we go it actually finished so it's cancel this I don't really want to
5:46
use any thing for now passcode options not use passcode Don't use passcode. So I'm just trying to set it up really quickly right here
5:58
Also the display has a 86 screen ratio Could have been better if not for that notch on top So it like I said a little bit of a shame And also it has a 460 pixels per inch so it is a fairly dense
6:21
display. It's a disable location or whatever. So yeah that is due to the fact that
6:28
this device comes at a resolution of 1170 by 25, 30,000. so it is a little bit over 1080p not by much but still a little bit better than
6:41
1080p and because of that the display is fairly dense and also it isn't one of the
6:48
super big displays it's 6.1 so like I said so it's not as huge as some other
6:56
devices go for like six and a half six point six approaching almost seven inches
7:03
So this is a little bit on a more reasonable size of a phone
7:09
And now obviously once you set it up, this is a typical iOS experience
7:15
If you use an iPhone before, you're most likely used to how it looks like and perform
7:21
So I don't be really touching upon that one because it would be just redundant
7:26
What I'll be touching upon is for instance things like the camera. So we have a triple camera setup on the back
7:32
flip it over, you can see it. Now this comes with a basically a little bit of a bump
7:39
It's not as obnoxious as I would have expected it to be. On the first look, it looks like
7:47
it's going to be bigger because you have a notch around, like a bump and then bump on a camera
7:52
itself, but those are just like millimeters. So it is reasonable, I would say. And as you can
8:01
well maybe not see. It comes with triple camera setup and along with the time of flight sensor
8:07
and all of those cameras are 12 megapixels, so that are 2m.m.pixel wide, telephoto and ultra
8:13
ultra wide along with like I said the time of flight 3D lightar sensor. So that is for the depth
8:20
and I just perception along with like measuring along with their some of their functions that
8:27
they have for instance I believe like with emoji and measuring. stuff so it's a fairly nice audition honestly and with those cameras you
8:40
can obviously shoot out 4k 24 30 60 and then when you drop it to 1080 you can
8:46
make a slow-mo footage of 120 along with 240 and obviously that 30 and 60 as well
8:53
now I just pop open the camera and just give my little trusty plant right here
9:01
and see how it looks like so you could take video I don't really care about the video for now
9:08
So a little bit closer now. Now sorry if this isn't very visible I'm gonna show the photos in a second
9:24
And obviously when you capture a a photo it has a just this amazing hot-tick feedback and
9:31
that is well known on basically every Apple device now along with even their MacBooks and other devices
9:41
So it feels really nice whenever you click on something. It has this tactile kind of like a click even though you're not really pressing any button
9:54
So it's actually to take a video right here so you can see it's going to be the video
9:59
And right now it's set to HD. This is 4K and below, besides that you have the frame rate, you can see it
10:06
So, HD, 30, 60, 4K, 30, 24, 60. So you can push the frame rate here really nicely
10:18
And let's see also the focusing. Now, disregard the mass that is going on in the background
10:31
So the focusing on here looks really nice
10:41
Let's get it. So you can already see this recording super smooth
10:46
Obviously it's 60 frames and just the focusing on here. It looks really nice
10:52
So it does it super smoothly. It goes through it, focuses on
10:57
It's not like a snap. It's graded. And honestly, right here, when it was going from right to left
11:05
it seamlessly moved the focus to the plant itself. So that looks really nice, obviously
11:14
iPhones and overly Apple devices are really well known for their cameras
11:19
They're one of the better ones out there, especially when it comes down to skin color, skin tones
11:24
along with also HDR capabilities. Now in terms of actual accuracy and stuff like that, there are basically three contenders
11:36
to it or two. Samsung is also one of the top ones and Huawei, but we don't talk about Huawei now
11:44
Obviously, Huawei might have really good cameras but they lack in a lot of other aspects
11:49
So when it comes down to it, I guess Samsung is the only contender here
11:55
And when it comes down to it, they both capture some of the most amazing photos
12:03
And when it comes down to it, it's more of a personal preference of what kind of color
12:07
reproduction you prefer. They both differ. I believe iPhone has a little bit of a more warmer tone to their photos while Samsung keeps it a little bit more saturated I think along with well a little bit more on a bluish side
12:24
So like I said, it's a matter of preferences at that point when it comes down to cameras
12:29
And honestly, for the 12 megapixel sensors that they have here, which seem honestly unimpressive, to be honest
12:37
A lot of photos push 64 even further. 120 megapixels. Here you get basically a tenth of that and it doesn't seem like it's lacking
12:49
They capture really good, amazing photos. So in terms of that, you can really see that
12:56
when you know what you're doing with the hardware, you can push it further than just the megapixels
13:01
And iPhone is, well, a proof of that. Now, moving out of the back sensors, at the front we have
13:11
one camera or selfie which I can't really capture it I can barely see that
13:19
circle right there that's the selfie camera right there but there's also a
13:24
sensor in here so have a SL 3D depth or biometric sensor so that's for the
13:32
face ID and this is and the kind of more of a blackish circles right there
13:37
there's three of them and I just can't not capture them. So yeah but if you put it in direct sunlight you almost
13:48
likely see those darker three circles around the camera as well. Now when it
13:53
comes on to the selfies and just turn it on. I'm gonna also turn off the light just
14:06
give me a sec. I want to see how it will perform
14:11
when lighting isn't necessarily the best here. So if we move to it
14:27
you can see with basically light turned off on the background, it still did a really nice job of capturing face here as well
14:35
I believe I just messed up because it seems a little bit blurry. It was in motion
14:40
But obviously the photos by themselves are really good for just a 12 megapixel sensor, so they are really nice
14:48
And also skin color, top notch, no problem here. So yeah, it looks really good
14:58
Now when it comes down to the actual specifications of the phone itself, it comes with the Bionic A14 chip
15:04
obviously the newest, greatest, latest. And when it comes on to storage, you have multiple versions
15:13
Now, as you most likely already know, Apple has no expendable storage
15:18
So what you get in terms of built-in memory, it's what you will get, and nothing more, nothing less
15:24
So you have 128, 256, and 512 gigs. And now the version that I have right here, I believe, is the 200... 256
15:35
So, I'm just putting that out there, it doesn't really change anything
15:42
And all the iPhones have, at least the 12 pros, have 6 gigabyte RAM
15:47
Now the storage on them is also MVME, so you're going to be getting some of the most fastest
15:54
transfer, right speeds that you can get on the device. It's basically equivalent of like, well it's not really equivalent, it is MVME, kind of like
16:03
you see on computers. So this is going to be super fast
16:09
And finishing it off, the device comes with a built-in battery of 2,815 millimethr hour
16:17
And as we already know, there is no charger for it, so you have to have your own
16:22
And I believe it was charging at 20 watts, but I might be wrong
16:27
I didn't really write it down, so I could be possibly wrong here, but that's kind of what
16:32
I think it was. And also it has a 15 watt wireless charging
16:37
So you can also slap it on the G charger right here
16:42
Hopefully this one works or it's plugged in. Or it might not be
16:48
Oh, there it is it's charging. So I'm sure if you can see it, but right now it is charging
16:57
And I can see it now stops. So you do have wireless charging if you want to go that route
17:04
along with the wire charging and lastly that I'll probably touch upon is several colors
17:13
so as you see the one that I have right here was the gold and it looks really
17:19
premium at least on the size the edges the comfort I believe this is like steel or
17:25
I think that is steel I'm not exactly sure to be honest looks really vibrant
17:34
leave something to be desired. It just seems a little bit too light, closer to like a skin tone
17:39
rather than actual gold color. And you also have silver, graphite, and Pacific Blue as an option
17:52
Honestly, the Pacific Blue to me seems to be one of the more interesting colors. It has a vibrant
17:58
blue color to it, but that's not the one that I have right here. And
18:04
Like I said, the cheapest version of this device, I believe it's the, well the 128
18:10
gigabytes storage one, comes at 1,000 euros. So yeah and if you ever seen any of my other videos I well not really the greatest spend Apple I not going to I don only have anything I use the company It more that their products just seem to be kind of the same from generation to generation
18:35
And this device kind of seems the same way. It's a combination of basically two different phones
18:39
So iPhone 5, which is by now over, I think, 12 years old
18:45
Or maybe not 12, what am I saying? six years old and also iPhone 10 the size and the design of the front seems to be
18:54
iPhone 10 well the overall back and the frame seems to be like an iPhone 5s or 5 and
19:04
in terms of the aesthetics of a 5 iPhone I'm completely fine with it I really like the
19:12
more of a industrial look to it the boxy kind of you know, those edges being really visible, really defined
19:23
But in terms of iPhone 10, I would really like to get rid of this notch
19:29
If Apple would get rid of this notch, this device would look just top notch
19:35
And it's just my personal taste. I don't like matches, especially if you have different options of doing it
19:42
It would obviously require probably an under-ointed fingerprint sensor. sensor, there is none here, you don't have any kind of fingerprint sensor iPhone
19:50
Obviously relies solely on the face ID, which is also the reason why they still have
19:56
this obnoxiously big notch there. But that is kind of my personal taste in here
20:03
which to me, the notch here has no place. And that being said, the device itself looks
20:10
really nice. Obviously it's going to be one of the fastest device here and also the
20:14
cameras are really nice even though they're 12 megapixel they do far greater
20:19
job than some 64 or 120 megapixel sensors here so it's more to be left to
20:27
actually how you program your camera instead of what kind of sensor you drop into
20:31
it like I said before and honestly I personally I personally really like like
20:38
the iPhone this one I probably would prefer the mini one because I just
20:44
would want to have something smaller, but many one follows basically the same aesthetics as this one
20:50
It's just smaller. And apart from that, that price seems to be kind of normal, I would say, a thousand euros
21:00
It's basically what every flagship cost, so no real problem here. Although I would really like to see companies not try to push it further with their, for instance, Pro-MAT
21:14
or as whatever ultra, if you know what I mean, because two years ago the highest price range
21:23
was 1,000. Now it's basically 1,200 and that will be also the case for D12 Macs along with other companies
21:34
So it's not really awful kind of thing, it's more of just the industry trying to push
21:40
higher price price tags on devices and just kind of moving away from the
21:44
For instance, in this case, would have been Pro or S, whatever, would have been the top of the shelf
21:52
Now it's not the case anymore. But other than that, the device works amazingly, obviously, and a lot more to say
22:03
So, it is a nice device. The only also downside that I will mention is just the lack of a charger
22:12
Now, we all know that Apple decided to drop the chargers, their excuse is to save the environment
22:19
We save the environment by including chargers sold separately. And that doesn't really seem like such a true statement once you realize that they're selling
22:29
the chargers separately. And the cable that they include is kind of useless if you have an older device that still
22:35
came with the charger. So yeah. Now that I got that elephant out of the way, um..
22:42
I can finish up by saying if you're looking for a device and you're already in an Apple ecosystem
22:49
well then there is not really anything that I need to say to you. You most likely already probably have that device
22:55
But when it comes down to any kind of other person, if you're upgrading your Android device and you're debating on this phone or not
23:05
that is then actually dependent. Apple, in my opinion, works way better when it is in its own ecosystem
23:12
So over the time, basically we'll get more and more Apple products
23:18
Once you basically accumulate them, things like Apple, MacBooks and stuff like that
23:24
But they all cooperate with each other. AirPods, for instance. So that is, well, kind of the benefit of the product here
23:34
But if you're not in the ecosystem, it is kind of a little bit hard to recommend. And you'll be losing a little bit of that usability
23:42
of the device along with listening some of the other usability that we have from an Android
23:47
and also forcing yourself into specific services along with couple additional not very convenient features but still if you like the design and you want to buy this
24:04
device then there's not much I can say it is a good device so yeah and that'll be
24:12
said, if you found this video helpful, enjoyed it, hit that like button, subscribe
24:17
and thanks for watching
