Welcome
0:07
I'm a Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition and today I'll show you a couple tweaks and tricks you can do on this device
0:14
So we're going to begin with the screen mode which will allow you to change the temperature colors of the display
0:21
And you do it by going into the settings, display and then screen mode
0:29
mode, there we go, and we have the vivid and then the natural
0:33
Now personally, I'm not the biggest fan of the vivid mode. In certain cases it looks way too saturated, kind of like it does right here
0:41
You can see a huge difference between those two images to the point that
0:45
vivid looks a little bit too harsh, well, natural is just more natural in my opinion
0:52
Now in other cases it might look a little bit washed out in this case. For instance, like this aurora balleris right here
0:59
So you can see that with the natural edge is not as vibrant and popping as it is with
1:04
vivid but then it doesn't really seem too natural honestly. So you can change it to natural if you want to and if you like it then that's fine if you
1:13
don't then you prefer the vivid one then that's fine too. So moving on to the next one it's going to be the edge screen which is this little panel
1:23
on the side that you can see kind of like this faint outline right here
1:26
You can pull that from there. have the first panel you have just basic apps which you can also tap right
1:33
here and have different ones and you can also open them in a pop-up view like
1:38
like so so pop-up view will also allow you to resize them and open multiple
1:47
if you want to but this panel isn't only limited to just the applications we
1:54
can also go into settings just close the power view right here and we have
1:58
things that we can also enable. So there's a bunch that come pre-installed. We have
2:02
people which will be just kind of like a contact. Smart select tasks
2:07
whether tools, reminders, clipboard and also you can tap on the store and basically
2:12
get a pletra of additional plugins from here as well. But keep in mind some of
2:17
them are paid. As you can see the calculator seems to be free but then some kind of
2:22
multitasking apps which seems to be actually this would be really amazing to have
2:27
costs about two dollars would appear so. There are some more expensive as well so
2:34
at People Pro which gives you kind of like a single person with a bunch of different ways you can communicate with them
2:41
and they have some tasks and there's a pletra of them as you can see
2:46
And what you do is once you have some you can simply toggle them on
2:50
and then if you slide it from here you can now basically cycle through these tiles
3:00
So moving on to the next one, it's going to be the navigation buttons, and we can change the updated ones at the bottom
3:06
for something a little bit more modern that accommodates the big screen a little bit better
3:11
So we can go to the settings again and then again display And from here let scroll down to navigation bar and then
3:23
swipe gestures so we have swipe up to go home let's open up settings swipe from the sides to go back as you can see there is this
3:31
arrow appearing and it opens I mean it works from both sides and swipe and a
3:38
hold to go to recent which I think I already did mention okay so
3:43
So just a little bit of a more unique way of navigating through the device
3:47
And honestly, the back gestures are really amazing. Once you get used to it, it works like a charm
3:53
Now, if you have some kind of problems with you using them, that it doesn't always recognize your gestures
3:59
I do recommend to start the slide gesture off of the screen
4:03
So as you can see, there is basically where it's laid up. That's where the screen begins, but you can start sliding off of it
4:09
and then get onto the screen and in a smooth motion. going to light up and that will ensure that you basically always get the gesture correctly
4:21
And moving on to the next one it's going to be the smart pop-up view. I already touched upon the normal pop-up view, which can also be access to recent if I didn't know
4:30
So when you tap on the icon right here, you have the open-end pop-up view. But we also have the section setting for pop-up view, so smart one, I mean
4:40
So we can access it from advanced features, here and smart pop-up view and from here you can enable which app you want to function in this
4:49
kind of mode so messages is really good one and the way it will work is if you get a notification
4:54
from the app that is enabled so for instance messages if you get a message from someone it pops up a banner
5:01
right here and when you tap on it it will then open up your messages instead of in this way it will
5:07
open it up in the pop-up view automatically like so and from here you can quickly
5:13
respond and if you go home it will actually close it into this uphead which you can
5:19
tap on to interact whenever you want so this will only happen when you get a
5:25
notifications and you interact so as you see it's already enabled in the settings right
5:30
here but I can still if I normally tap on the application it will open it up in full
5:36
view instead of the pop-up one so this is only going to open up and pop-up if you get
5:40
some kind of notifications from messages Moving on to the next anyone, it's going to be the reduced animation
5:49
And this simply allows you to reduce the animations. Animations are basically anything like by going into recent you see these tiles kind of slide
6:00
If you go home it slides them back to left and then brings up apps as you've seen
6:06
These are fairly quick and the zoom in, closing kind of zooms out
6:11
But you can shorten them by going into these settings, advanced features I believe, and
6:18
reduced animations right here, tone down animation effects on the screen such as when apps are opened or closed
6:26
So this will shorten them a little bit, but nothing really significant
6:31
In certain cases it barely even noticeable in my opinion So we can take it a little bit further and go into the developer options Now I already have it enabled so quickly I going to show you how to enable it
6:43
So you go into about phone, software information and then build the number
6:47
You top on that seven times and for me it's telling me that I'm already a developer but for
6:52
you it will enable it and then you can find it on the bottom as a last option
6:56
And in here if you scroll down a little bit past halfway you should find a window on
7:01
animation scale, transition animation scale and animation duration scale. And each one of them corresponds to different animation
7:07
You can change it to, for instance, 0.5, and that will drastically reduce the animation speed
7:12
as you can see right now. It is faster than it was before
7:17
And if you have some kind of vendetta against the animations, you can simply disable them
7:22
And there should now be no animations, as you can see. So it's instant switching, apart from certain ones where you see it's still
7:31
So this is technically an animation but doesn't really count because you are as
7:38
as quick as you move your finger basically. So that's kind of how you could remove animations or shorten them and then moving on to
7:47
the next option it's going to be the link to Windows. So this option allows you to basically link your phone to Windows and Windows has gotten
7:56
an update as well I believe recently where it allows you to run apps that are on
8:01
your phone natively kind of like kind of natively on your computer
8:05
I haven't really tested it out yet and probably I will make a separate video about it
8:11
But quickly just to show you this function it can be found again in the advanced and features
8:19
and link to Windows so you enable it and you will have to log in using your Microsoft account
8:28
So you log in on your phone and on your computer and do it. give you a step-by-step guide
8:34
And on the computer side, there is a specific program that comes preloaded to the device
8:39
And what it will allow you to do is have all your messages, calls, be visible on a computer
8:44
kind of like a WhatsApp link when you link it from a phone to a computer
8:49
But this is a little bit further or a little bit more polished, I would say
8:55
And you can basically write messages and see all your contacts and everything on the computer
8:59
pick up calls from your computer as well. It will use microphone from your computer, things like that
9:05
So you can basically set the phone to the site and have everything visible strictly from a computer
9:13
Now, like I said, I'm not going to really log in and showcase that too far too much
9:17
I'm just going to probably record a separate video for just that purpose
9:23
And moving on to the next option, it's going to be something for the privacy freaks
9:29
So it's going to be the sensors of option. Now this is a fairly hidden option
9:35
It will also require you to have the developer options enabled, which if you missed before
9:41
when I set out enable, you go to About phones, software information and build number top of
9:46
that seven times. And once you enable it you can go back the main settings page and on the bottom you have developer options And from here once you open it up you want to navigate two quick setting developer tiles and enable these sensors off
10:02
And once you enable it you can then find it right over here and your notification panel
10:07
as one of the toggles. And once you toggle it, it will basically disable all these sensors, things like your cameras
10:13
microphones, gyroscopes, and GPSs, everything will be basically disabled. And you can clearly see it
10:21
If you try to launch camera, it will just kind of crash or show nothing
10:27
So as you can see, it's just literally showing nothing. I can try to flip it over
10:33
Now it just kind of crashed. And just as an example, if I disable the sensors off
10:38
it will run no problem. And we go. If I disable it or enable it, it just crashes the camera
10:46
And now it's back to black. And I'm not actually sure how it works if someone would call you if you have to disable it or will it somehow function with it
10:56
But yeah, it allows you to basically disable the sensors and it adds a little bit more privacy to your device
11:05
And moving on to the last option, it's just going to be a simple application that is installed on here, the game launcher
11:11
So when you enable it for the first time, let's just agree to it
11:15
When you open it up for the first time it brings up this window right here and allows you to hide games from your home screen and optray
11:23
So honestly I really like that. And all the games that you have installed on your phone will only be accessible through the game launcher itself
11:31
Now unfortunately I have no games to showcase. Normally there will be visible right here
11:36
But because I have none, well, it doesn't hide any apps or games. But I believe I can add them manually
11:43
Let me quickly check if that is the case. add apps
11:52
Let's see. So it looks like I can't add it. Yeah, it looks like I am unable to add apps
12:05
Yeah, so that's kind of unfortunate. But normally if you add in, if you have a game it will show up in here
12:13
And because for instance it's going to be hiding the apps. it will not be visible at all in here
12:18
And from the app itself you have also a couple additional things like you can mute notifications
12:25
sounds, you can connect, I guess to Discord for some reason, but overall it enhances the experience of gaming
12:32
by reducing things like notifications so it can hide them while you're launching a game through this
12:38
it will not show them and the device will overall basically put all the power to the game that is running
12:45
to give you the best experience while limiting everything else that it's not needed
12:51
So just a nice built-in application there. But this will conclude all the tweaks and tricks I wanted to share
12:57
And if you found this very helpful, don't forget to head like, subscribe, and thanks for watching
