I'm the name is a Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 and today I'll show a couple tweaks and tricks you can do on this phone
0:12
So let's start by going into the settings and then display where we will find two different things that I want to show you
0:22
So number one would be the dark mode or light mode which you can also set it up to be a scheduled one
0:27
By default it's in light mode, but if you change it to light mode, or dark mode I mean, as you can see it will change it
0:33
And this will go over into settings and basically all the pre-installed apps like phone, dialer messages and stuff like that, making it dark mode
0:43
Now, the reason why I also touched upon the schedule one is because dark mode might not always be the best option
0:50
So as an example, during the daytime light mode will be easier to see in direct sunlight
0:56
so probably that would be a preferable option. While during night, light mode is most certainly not the preferable option, in my opinion
1:04
I would prefer not to have my irises cinched out of my skull, so I'll more rather have the dark mode instead
1:11
So in here, you will have the option to basically set up a schedule if you want to
1:16
and this will make it go dark mode when, well, it should and stay in light mode during the day
1:21
which I would consider to be a really nice thing. Now moving on to the next option, it's going to be the color scheme
1:29
So if we scroll down, it's right over here. And this will allow you to set up or choose whichever color scheme you want
1:37
As you can see, it looks like it is set to auto, which I'm not exactly sure how it defines what is the recommended color scheme
1:45
But anyway, you can clearly see the image right here and how it affects it, the auto
1:51
So if you want, you can change it to something like a saturated. or standard which standard is if we look at these three options in a way auto will be basically in between Saturated will add more color while Standard will reduce the colors And you can clearly see those two options and how they affect it
2:11
Now between Standard and Auto, there is a fairly small difference, but you can clearly see it
2:19
The auto is a little bit more colorful, brighter, more cheerful, while the saturated is just
2:26
kind of locking in colors and then standard and saturated is just a little bit too colorful
2:34
in my personal taste. So again you can choose whichever one you want you can also scroll down and you'll have
2:39
a couple different color templates what I would call so you can add specific kind of color to the image itself
2:46
as you can see if I move it around it will shift. Now this is on a drastic side
2:52
you can see on the outlines of the color palette right here but if you keep somewhere more in the middle you can just tweak it a tiny
2:59
bit make it look the way you want it now moving on to the next option
3:06
that's going to be the home screen style so by default as you can see we have the
3:14
what I would call the Apple style so all icons are smack in the middle of
3:19
your home screen and you have no up drawer like you probably are used to
3:23
having on Android so if you want to change that All you need to do is go into the settings, home screen style, and change it from Classic
3:34
to With Appdrawer. And there we go. Now it's launching for the first time, so just give it a second, but yeah, you can see it now
3:44
it's open and you can access your app drawer. And inside here you will find all your applications
3:50
Now the benefit of the Xiaomi Updra is they also added a little bit of a kind of a
3:56
caveat here so you can see we have categories right here You can scroll through these and quickly find whatever you looking for Now by default it will be in the old category I think you can change it by tapping right here and setting what the category is
4:13
Now in the old category, you will have the most used apps right here at the top
4:17
Then under the line, everything is in alphabetical order, assuming you're checking up the categories
4:25
So just a nice way for you to get a more organized look
4:30
And also as you can see, the second page now has way less applications than before
4:35
That's because we do have them all stored right here. So moving on to the next option that I wanted to show you, it's going to be the system navigation
4:43
and this basically removes the outdated buttons at the bottom and substitutes them for something
4:49
a little bit more modern and up-to-date what I would call. So let's go back to the settings
4:54
We're going to go back to the home screen and scroll, well, nowhere because it's right here
5:01
system navigation, and by default it's set to buttons, but you can change it to gesture
5:07
Now, when you're doing this for the first time, it will tell you or ask you if you want to learn them
5:11
I don't. So I'm going to give you a quick overview how to use them, just in case you haven't ever used it
5:19
and also give you a tip how to use it correctly just so it works for you every single time
5:24
So, you have this bar completely disregarded existence. This bar basically is useless
5:31
So what you want to do if you want to go home is you swipe up. Now, swiping up, a majority of people will grab the bar or try to
5:39
which sometimes will just make you scroll up instead, as an example like right here
5:44
So get your finger off the screen. So as you can see, I'm touching the bezel, not the screen, and from there just swipe up
5:50
Bam. This will ensure that it always works. Now another shortcut apart from the swipe up to go home is the swipe up and hold which will open up recent and then swipe from my side I can see that it brings up this tiny little arrow When you let go this is just a back gesture So if I go somewhere like in the settings
6:09
just go on here, I can go back one page with this swipe gesture
6:17
Now again, as you've seen, I did try to swipe up a little bit too early on the screen
6:23
so same as with the home gesture. You do want to swipe from the, from basically the
6:29
bezel onto the screen. So this will ensure that it works perfectly. So yeah. And moving
6:37
on to the last option, it's going to be the floating windows which can be accessed through
6:41
recent. So if we go into recent, you'll have this floating window button right here. Once you
6:49
tap on it, it shows you different applications that you can open up in this kind of mode. You can
6:55
also hold the applications like so, and it will give you a couple different
6:59
options right here, which the great one, grade out one, is the floating window
7:05
Settings unfortunately doesn't support it for some reason, but it does support split screen
7:09
if that is also something that you want to use. But going back to the floating window, all you need to do is just choose an app
7:15
If it's, for instance, something like Chrome that you want to use in a floating window way
7:21
we could go back to it and close it. There we go
7:27
So as you can see, because Chrome is supported by floating windows, this option isn't
7:31
great out now so I can actually tap on it. So this will allow you to basically use a tiny little window of an application, move it around
7:40
if you wanted to, make it small by going home, and access it whenever you want
7:47
So yeah, that being said, this will conclude all the tweaks and tricks that I wanted to share
7:51
