Welcome
0:02
And from me say Galaxy Tab S7 and today I'll go over some tweaks and tricks that can do on this device
0:14
So starting off I'm actually going to be using for the most part this pen right here to do everything
0:18
and also the tweaks for it will include some things with the pen
0:24
But starting off we can access the side panel that can barely see this little gray thing right here
0:29
great thing right here, can pull it up. And by default, if you tap on anything
0:33
it will just simply open that up. But you have also the ability, if I can pop it up, there we go
0:38
to hold it and drag it over. And if you drop it on the sides
0:42
it goes full screen like basically the same way as though if you would top it. If you drag it to the middle
0:48
it will open it up in pop-up view. And this is almost unlimited
0:53
so you can keep opening up more and more. and more. Now it gets to a ridiculous point at one point where it just kind of defeats the purpose of opening up any more of them, in my opinion, because three open windows right now is already quite substantial
1:14
As you can see, to close them, you top on this right here, or also if you go home, it will pop them into this uphead view, which from there you can choose what you want to open
1:24
Now also you can, as you've just seen, if you grab it correctly, you can resize it
1:31
Now using S-pen is probably easier because you have this hovering little dot, which will show you where you can grab it or when you can grab it
1:38
and from there you can just grab it. But it's still accessible using your finger if you choose to do so as well
1:46
So moving on to the next one, it's going to be just a 120 hertz display
1:51
So by default, the setting is... quickly make it full screen. The setting is under display
1:58
and it's motion smoothness. And here, make sure that it's select to adaptive
2:05
I'm not really sure why it's called adaptive. Get smooth animation and scroll by
2:09
automatically adjusting your screen refresh rate up to 120. So, getting by this, it looks like the display
2:16
won't be always at 120, only when you need it. I guess that's kind of good
2:21
because if you're not using the 120, even though, for instance, you wouldn't be using it
2:27
it would still consume more battery. So it looks like enable it only when you're scrolling
2:31
and when it actually has some significant appearance to it. And if you're not sure what it does
2:37
you can look at this animation right over here, and it does represent the difference in the animation
2:43
the refresh rate fairly well. It would actually animate. So let me go back to it
2:48
There we go. So if you look at it, this image is kind of
2:52
choppy, well this one just smoothly glised through it without kind of
2:57
and this lag feeling to it. Now this is probably best experience on your own
3:03
tablet even though right now for me it's at 120 and me scrolling up and down
3:08
should have an effect on it. It will not have any visual effect on the camera
3:14
Camera is only recording at 60 so anything higher than that is just kind of being
3:18
a lost on the recording. So like I said, this is something that you'll have to experience on your own
3:25
And I highly recommend this option right here. It makes basically using the device that much more enjoyable
3:33
It seems like a small thing that you might not notice, but everything opening up battery smooth just adds to the experience
3:41
So, moving on to the next one, it's going to be just a simple dark mode
3:45
Now, because this is an Amelette display, it will also save a little bit of a battery. Now, don't expect anything drastic
3:50
you will be getting maybe an hour more of a battery that is probably in like a good case
3:56
but it's still as hour more that you otherwise wouldn't have so as you see I just pulled down a notification
4:02
and there's the dark mode toggle it on and there we go everything is now in dark mode
4:07
now that also includes basically default apps quickly open up something else
4:14
so as can see Gallery what else is here settings even and all the black
4:24
area right over here around will basically not be lit up at all
4:29
because of the Amo-lit display and that is what is setting the battery. Anything that is kind of like grayish
4:34
right here, even though it might look like it requires less brightness, it still needs to put just as
4:42
much work into actually lighting this up as any, for instance, white
4:48
background. So anything that is dark like here we do a fantastic job in saving the battery Also if you for instance going at the dark mode I would also advise you to choose some kind of Amelette wallpaper that will contrast it well The one right here looks nice
5:07
but honestly it won't be doing much in terms of the Amelette and battery saving. If you choose
5:12
something that has like just this super deep blacks that are basically turned off like, well, this
5:17
search bar right here, for instance this right over here, this is what will be saving the
5:23
battery. This wallpaper that I have chosen is not necessarily black. It's kind of like this
5:27
grayish color, so it still basically puts as much work into lighting it up as any kind of other
5:34
wallpaper would. Now moving on to the next one, which won't be really able to show you. I don't
5:40
really have the monitor for it, but it's the Dex feature. Now, some time ago, Samsung decided
5:49
to include these, and what it is, it's basically it will turn your device
5:53
and it works on majority of the other Samsung. If you plug it in using the Type C to your monitor
5:59
it will turn your device into a computer. And basically right now you have just a typical Android experience
6:06
a tablet view with all the icons and stuff like that. But if you plug it in to a computer
6:11
you have this toggle right over here. And if you plug it in and do nothing, it will just charge it
6:17
But if your monitor supports Type C pass-through, the device will recognize that it's
6:23
plugged into a monitor and from here you can simply tap on this start and I don't
6:28
think it will work right now or maybe it will yes we'll see oh wow it actually does
6:35
so this is kind of what you would also get on other devices Samsung devices if you plug
6:40
it in and you can have this view overly on on the monitor way bigger but it looks like you
6:46
can't have it standalone right here just on this and this is almost like a desktop experience
6:52
for a normal computer. You have icons right over here as in kind of like applications on a computer
6:58
You have the task bar with everything that is open right now which you can quickly open up
7:02
and also minimize, maximize if you want to close it off. So it works virtually like a computer right now
7:12
You also have the typical controls right here. Screenshot button volume controls right over here
7:20
So it works in a way. as a normal computer almost would
7:25
Now you're still limited to the applications that are provided in the app store
7:30
And also, not every app will work in this mode. Some apps have a problem with working in this computer-esque world
7:41
meaning this kind of desktop right here. And they might either crash or look a little bit wonky
7:48
but primarily this problem is for games. Games are the ones that tend to have the problem with it
7:58
Anything that comes preloaded with this device will work flawlessly, as you can see right over here
8:04
So you basically have this desktop experience. Now this will work even better
8:12
For instance, you have a wireless keyboard and a mouse. I know right now I'm using a pointer
8:17
or the stylus right, as you can see. But if you have a wireless mouse, Bluetooth, you connect it
8:24
It will actually create a pointer that you can use as a normal Windows, for instance, computer or Mac
8:30
which will furthermore make it feel like it's a full-fledged computer, although be it kind of low-specked and kind of wonky with some applications
8:39
but still it works really surprisingly well considering this is just kind of like a
8:47
Samsung Galaxy or Samsung's mode additional to just the Android and it's still running on Android
8:54
and this is by all means Android just differently positioned everything. Now once you want to leave it simply pull back up the notifications and toggle it off and it
9:05
will go back to the normal Android feel. Then moving on to the further tweaks it's going to be the simple pop-up view
9:14
so I actually touched up on this along with the side panel right here
9:20
but like you seen you drag it over and this is the pop-up view
9:24
and now this will also allow you to do different things apart from you having the control to open up apps and pop-up view if you wish to
9:32
you can go into the settings and from settings also quickly change it to the light mode
9:38
and I believe it will look a little bit better on recording I'm going to disable this
9:44
There we go. So apart from the pop-up view being accessible through the panel and, well, used manually
9:51
you can go into advanced features and enable it to work with specific apps automatically So advanced features smart pop view
10:02
And from here, enable apps that you want to open up in smart pop-up view
10:06
Now, what this means is, it's actually described right here, select which apps can send you notifications that you can tap to expand into pop-up view
10:17
It's only available for apps that support multi-window. primarily every app that is right now on here that comes preloaded will support it but in
10:29
other words if you get a notification meaning message or some kind of for instance
10:33
Facebook notification you can tap on it and it's just a normal pop-up right here as you are
10:38
used to seeing notifications just pop up when you tap on it on the normal phones it opens up the
10:44
app and full screen view here for instance if you get a message and you tap on that
10:48
on that notification of a message, it will open it up in the smart pop-up view, which I will
10:55
quickly show if I actually can find it. So this would look something like this
11:02
And this is just by tapping on the notification to open it up in this kind of view
11:06
Now, like I said, you do have to enable it through here
11:14
Or was it, Smart Pop-up view. So you have to enable it from here. any additional apps that you want to open up in this kind of mode when it notifies you about
11:21
anything then enable it from here now when you're going to be launching these apps normally
11:29
so for instance messages if I launch it it goes into normal mode it only opens up in pop-up view
11:34
when you get a notification so moving on further it's going to be options with the S-pen
11:44
which I've been using for this entire time separate from it having
11:48
some controls, I believe, with cameras. I also have this little shortcut right here, which you can access, and we'll bring up some
11:55
apps, but also a bunch of different shortcuts specifically for the S-pen
12:01
So have AR Draw. Now this, I believe, launches camera. Yeah, there we go
12:05
So you can do kind of redundant stuff like this. But apart from it, the redundant stuff, you also have the translation
12:18
If I launch this, let's allow it. Or is it? So automatically I guess it translates stuff
12:28
Actually I haven't used this. I've expected that it allows me... Okay, so there we go
12:36
Oh, there we go. So as you can see it uses Google, obviously, for this
12:42
But it allows you to translate from English to English. We achieved a lot right here, but..
12:47
lot right here but if you decide to select a different language by just
12:51
setting it right here can do that again as you can see it shows you almost
12:59
shows you if I wouldn't be blacking with my finger there we go you can see
13:03
that it shows you the translation in and the desired language and this is only
13:10
when you hover over when you move the pen it disappears and only works with
13:14
it looks like a pen. Now there's just several other things. You can write on the screen
13:21
So you can do whatever you want. Draw whatever. This is by all means a screenshot that it captures
13:28
So if you don't want, you can simply leave. And discard. There we go
13:34
What else is that? You can also create notes. As you can see, someone decided to do some stuff here
13:45
But there we go. So you can see that you can basically draw on it
13:56
So there's several other things built into the ESPen, but I'm not going to be touching up on all of them
14:03
That could probably have its own full-fledged separate videos. So I'm going to move now to the next tweak that I really like
14:10
which is the gesture navigation. And it's fairly simple. and honestly nowadays I think some of the devices already
14:17
kind of force you into the gesture navigations but personally I really like them so
14:23
it will allow you to move the buttons on the bottom and we can find that option in I believe advanced features
14:29
let's see actually I bet it's under display and sure we navigation bar there we go
14:43
So as you can see, this is what we have right now, but we can change it to the full screen gestures
14:50
And there we go You can see it changes into this pill bar almost not just a bar at the bottom which you basically swipe up on to go home swipe up and hold to go to recent
15:01
and swipe from either side to go back. As you can see, it creates this arrow right here
15:06
and this works from either side. This works really well on smaller devices
15:12
but on here also, if you're holding the device in your hand as an example
15:16
and you swipe from the side, it allows you to go back and really
15:20
makes it look a little bit cleaner in my opinion, which that's kind of why I like it
15:25
But overall, personally, the best part of it is the swipe from sites to go back
15:31
And that is something that I just really like. It feels really natural to just swipe to go back
15:38
And it is only accessible if you actually can go back. So right now, if you try to swipe, you can see that nothing will happen
15:45
It will just kind of swipe the page itself, but it won't bring up the shirt
15:50
shortcut because it's not needed. So moving on to the next one
15:56
we're going to go into the screen mode. Now, right now, this entire video, you've been seeing
16:02
the natural color screen mode. So you can change it under the display
16:08
By default, it's set to the vivid, I believe it's called. So, screen mode, natural, vivid
16:14
Now you have different images that you can kind of see it on and
16:19
change it. Now as you can see clearly when you change it it makes the images a little bit more bright and colorful
16:27
Personally I'm not a fan of the default vibrant. It makes these oranges look in my personal opinion a little bit too colorful almost
16:38
My eyes are almost hurting from it. It's a little bit overdone in my opinion
16:45
Now to some people this is appealing, I just prefer the natural look
16:49
where it's not as brightly colored. So moving on to the next one because it was a fairly quick one
16:58
it's going to be the side key option. By default, Samsung decided to, as you probably already seen
17:07
change the side key from power key to side key. And instead of holding it to power of your device
17:13
now it brings up Bigsbee because we all cherish this option so much
17:19
But unlike previously, on older devices where they added the dedicated BigSpeed that we couldn't do anything with
17:28
when they changed the Power Key, they actually give us the option to bring it back and completely get rid of Bigspey if you don't want it
17:33
So we can go into the settings, then advanced features, and side key
17:43
And from here we have the Wake Bigsbee, so we can just check it to Power Off menu
17:47
and now if we hold it, there we go. We get the typical function of a power key
17:54
Now as you also see, there's different things that you can launch by double-pressing
17:58
So by default, as it is almost on every phone, and device double-press the power key to launch camera
18:06
But you also have the option to double-press for Pigsby, if you want that
18:10
Or the more interesting part is the open-up. So you can choose to..
18:16
You can select it. So you can choose to open up any kind of app that we have installed by just simply double pressing the power key
18:24
Now this will also launch the application when the device is locked
18:28
So let me go to what is going to be a good..
18:33
Let's go to something like a clock. So if I lock it and I double press it, it automatically opens up clock
18:40
There is a little bit of a downside to this though. It's not all sun shines and rainbows
18:47
So if you have this set to open up and up and you have some kind of protection on your device
18:53
if you try to open up that app, it will confront you to put in pin, pattern, password, whatever it is, fingerprint
19:00
You'll have to confirm it before you can actually open the app, which is something different than when you have the camera
19:08
Camera can be opened while the device is locked, and once you're done with a camera, it just kind of goes back to the lag screen
19:13
applications require you to fully unlock your device so if you have some kind of
19:18
protection this will ruin the quickness of this function that is just kind of
19:25
how I see it and moving on to the to the last actually no there is no last option
19:35
that was about it so if you found this video helpful in any way don't forget to
19:40
hit that like button subscribe and thanks for watching
