Welcome
0:02
In front of me is a Samsung Galaxy A-42, and today I'll share a couple tweaks and tricks you can do with this device
0:14
So starting off we're going to begin with the screen mode which will allow you to change the color temperature of it
0:22
and you can simply access it by going under settings, display and then screen mode
0:28
it's set to vivid, which you have a couple of photos to view it on here
0:33
Now, personally, to me, vivid is a little bit too vivid. And if you drop it to natural, in my opinion, that it is way better
0:41
Now, it won't be as saturated as vivid, and in certain cases, it might look a little bit worse
0:46
but in personal opinion, this looks more realistic than these colors that are literally like..
0:52
A little bit too. The orange is specifically almost her dye. that that's how orange they are, which is just unnatural
1:01
Now, it is designed to kind of make it look stand out, but personally, I prefer the natural
1:07
And moving on to the next one, it's going to be the pop-up view, and you can access it by going into the recent
1:13
so if we go into recent, hold it, we'll have pop-up view right here
1:19
And when you top on it, it will open it up in this tiny little window, which can be even resized to even a smaller size
1:26
like so and you can still interact with it you can open up additional apps on top of it
1:31
and still use both of them if you go home it will minimize into this tiny little
1:38
uphead which you can still interact with it and basically make it bigger or you can also choose the
1:44
second from the right option to make it full-screen if you want to so it's a fairly nice feature
1:53
Now this also has a smart pop-up view option, which allows you to basically get notifications
2:01
and open them up in this smart pop-up view. So I'm going to kind of demonstrate what I mean
2:07
So if you go into Papa View, for instance, if you get a message, you can interact with the banner
2:11
that will pop up right here, and then it will open it up in this kind of mode
2:17
Now to get this going, I believe it's going to be, let me see, advanced features maybe
2:23
there is smart pop-up view. And from here you will enable all the apps that you want to basically open in this mode
2:30
Now they will not be opening in this mode naturally, so if you enabled it and now you go to messages
2:37
it will not automatically open in Papa View. It will only do that if you get a notification and you interact with it
2:43
So moving on to the next one it going to be the split screen which will furthermore increase the multitasking capabilities on this device So same as before and same as the pop
2:58
view. When you go into the recent and you hold the icon right there, you'll have an open
3:03
and split screen view option like so, and then you can tap an additional app to open it like so
3:11
And from here you can also resize it. Now this will work really good with YouTube, where you can open it up on top, watch YouTube while still doing other stuff
3:18
and the videos won't be paused. Even if you go home and it makes this even smaller kind of area
3:24
the video will still play on without pausing. It will pause, though, whenever you do like the device
3:31
So keep that in mind. Now moving on to that next one, it's going to be the reduced animations
3:38
And we can find that under the advanced section. So let's go in the settings
3:43
and features, reduced animations and right here. And as you can see the description has toned on motion effects on the screen
3:52
such as when the apps are opening or closing. And now personally, the amount of toning down that they are doing, in my opinion
4:05
is a little bit lackluster, I would say. So if you want to extend it even further, we can go to..
4:13
Where is it about phone, I believe? Find the build number. Not in here. That is
4:26
Oh come on, where is it? Oh, there it is. Build number. So it's in software information
4:35
And top on that seven times, it will enable the developer options
4:39
From where you can go back to the main settings page, scroll down
4:43
and you will have developer options as the last option now. And from here you can scroll all the way down
4:49
or maybe not all the way down, but a little bit past halfway, and you'll have these three options right here
4:53
So window animation scale, transition animation scale, and animation duration scale. And each one of them will correspond to different kind of animation
5:03
As an example, window animation scale is this window that popped up right here
5:08
So if we make it times 10, you can see that right now it's going to be super slow
5:13
or you can also set it to 0.5. By setting it to 0.5, it will basically increase the
5:21
or decrease the animations by half, making them twice as fast. And from here, as you can see
5:28
everything is a little bit snapp here. Now we can also go drastically and go to basically
5:33
animations off but this will at times look a little bit jarring and it only for the people that really want to remove them So you can test it out and see if you like it or not
5:45
Now while we're already in the developer options, I'm gonna mention another option that I wanted to show you
5:50
Which is right at the top somewhere once I actually find it. Oh quick settings and developer tiles
5:57
And in here we have sensors off when you enable this Before I actually when you enable this it will show up right here and
6:04
But before I actually tap on the toggle to turn it on, I'll show you quickly
6:11
Camera as an example. So as you can see, camera is obviously working
6:16
You can clearly see it. So now, let's turn on sensors off
6:24
Turn on camera. And as you can see, camera no longer functions
6:31
There's literally nothing in the way of camera. I haven't changed anything
6:36
It just doesn't work anymore. It will keep crushing. Now, camera isn't the only thing that is right now disabled
6:41
Things like microphones are also disabled. So if someone were to call you, you do need to turn off sensors off
6:48
Otherwise, they won't be able to hear you. But it is a good option for privacy
6:54
If you're concerned about your privacy, you can turn on sensors off, and it basically turns off cameras and microphones
7:00
So the device basically goes dark in a way. Now moving on to the next option that I'll want to show you, it's going to be the gesture navigation
7:08
and you can find it on the settings under the display. Navigation bar
7:23
And as you can see, we have the swipe gestures. So top on it, it will change it into this little pill bar, not even pill bar, it's like a bar at the bottom
7:33
And from here, you can swipe on it to close up, swipe up, and hold
7:38
Swipe up and hold, there we go. To go into the recent and also swipe from the side to go back
7:43
As you can see, when you swipe from the side, it will open up this, bring up this arrow to signify that you're going to go back
7:49
And same from the other side. Come on. There we go. So, if you never use gestures
7:59
a quick little tip that I can give you for actually successful. using them without any kind of like struggle
8:06
As when you're trying to, for instance, swipe up to go home, don't swipe from the screen up
8:12
Try to swipe off of the screen like so, because I have a little tempered glass right here
8:19
as you can see, kind of catch my finger on it, so it isn't very good while it's on a table slipping around
8:24
But in general by swiping off of the screen onto it it will ensure that you going to get the gestures correctly and they will tick if you know what I mean
8:38
And moving on to that last thing that I wanted to show, or second last thing that I wanted
8:42
to show, it's going to be the dark mode, and this one is fairly quickly accessible through
8:46
the notification panel, I believe somewhere. There we go, right over here
8:52
use it up on it turns on dark mode and this extends system-wide so if you open up dialer dark mode
8:59
message dark mode gallery dark mode and basically everything else that is pre-installed on this device is in dark
9:06
mode including settings as well so if you like it you can enable it if you don't disable it
9:13
and there's also some options for it so you can turn it on as a schedule which will allow you to
9:20
I just set it to sunrise to sunset and so on, or based on time, which you can set up
9:26
And in my opinion, during nighttime, dark mode is a little bit better
9:29
while during daytime the light mode is more optimal, especially in the sunlight
9:36
So this will allow you to basically not bother with it and to automatically switch it for you, which is really nice
9:42
And now moving on to that last option, which is the swipe down for Snobcation Panel
9:48
and honestly one of the better options right here. So on Samsung's with their one UI for some reason
9:54
they decided that swiping down will bring up your uptray while swiping up does the same thing
10:01
So you have two different gestures for the same function. It makes it a little redundant
10:07
but then if you want to get your notification panel, they really made it nice that you can access it really easily
10:13
once you pull it down. So, you know, all the tuggles are a little bit lower
10:18
but you still have to reach all the way to actually pull it down, which defeats the purpose of it
10:23
But to change it, we can go into the settings. Again, display
10:28
And from here, we're going to go under the home screen right here
10:34
and swipe down for a notification panel right over here. Enable this, get out of the settings, and now swipe down, you get a notification panel
10:44
And you can swipe down as low as you can. so I'll try even here
10:50
As you can see, I can still pull it down, while now, accessing the uptray will require you to swipe up only
10:57
And personally, I prefer this much more. But this will conclude all the tweaks and tricks that I'll need to share
11:04
