And I'm a Honor 7A and today I'll show you a couple of tweaks and tricks that I can do on this device
0:11
So I'm going to begin with the home screen style and as you can see by default it's set to
0:16
the kind of like an Apple look with all the apps being on your home screen and there is no
0:23
app drawer so whatever you install will be just located right here and you can just create some
0:27
folders to keep it a little bit more organized. So we can change it to have an up drawer like most Android have
0:35
So to do it, let's go into the settings and then to display and from display
0:41
should find home screen style right here. As you can see it's set to standard so you want to choose drawer
0:51
Give it a moment. Well let's keep changing it up. I can see there is a new button right there
1:04
So that's the app drawer that contains all the apps that you have installed and you can also
1:10
neatly navigate through them by the alphabet right here. And all the apps that are right here you can now hide or remove whatever you want
1:20
So you can grab it and tap on remove. Now this only removes the app from the home screen
1:26
now the app still stays right here. Now if you want to uninstall it you will actually have to go through here and hold it
1:32
As you can see this is this app. And now we have an option on the top to uninstall
1:37
So moving on I going to go into the option of split screen So when you tap on the recent it will give you this little two bars right here which is basically the split screen Now probably can figure out how split screen works it basically divides the screen in two and you can use two different apps at the same time
2:00
But what it also allows you to do as a fairly neat trick when you open up YouTube
2:08
I have internet so I just wait for it not now so once you have opened up YouTube you can then you just mute the sound whenever I
2:21
start playing something normally you know that you leave the app or try to do
2:28
anything else music pause and you are forced to stay in YouTube to listen to music
2:34
unless you want to pay subscription fee for for their new whatever which in my
2:40
opinion is a little bit ridiculous for you to pay for using less data so what you
2:46
can do is when you tap on the recent button tap on this and you can see I can just
2:54
actually tap on play resize it a little bit and the video is playing and I can
2:59
actually navigate through this even though I pressed home button the video is
3:03
actually still playing I can open up Chrome as an example no thanks and you can see that I'm able to use right now Chrome to look at stuff
3:18
and music will be still playing or is playing and if you want to leave it I can just
3:25
track the little line right here all the way down like so it leaves the split screen and then it can close it moving on I going to go into the simple mode Now this one is more for elderly people
3:41
If someone from your family, grandma, something like that is using the device
3:46
it just allows you to make the device a little bit easier to use for such a person
3:53
It makes the icons bigger and removes most of the unnecessary ones
3:58
So again, you go into the settings. and then all the way down to system
4:04
And from system, you'll find simple mode right here. And you get an idea of how it looks like through the image
4:11
So you have basically this gigantic tiles, each one corresponding to either phone
4:15
messages, weather, contacts, photos, music, and camera. And that's basically all it does
4:22
Now I'm not going to enable it because it would just take a little bit of time
4:26
and you can basically see right here how it will look. so that's basically how it looks
4:32
so moving on I'm going to touch on the system navigation now there's not much options there
4:40
but it allows you to add a dock instead of like the buttons right here
4:44
so again we're going to go into the system right here and the settings
4:48
and look for system navigation so it's right here you can see navigation dock you can tap on it right here
4:56
and enable it and basically you have this little dot it gives you also
5:02
how it works right here so just tap on okay I can move it around as you can see
5:11
tap on it to go back hold it to go home and
5:18
yeah so just are a neat way if you for instance hold the phone a little bit differently higher You don need to do some handy gymnastics to reach the buttons right here
5:29
I can just position that wherever you are want and just have it handy
5:33
And a little bit better place to reach Okay, remove this so it doesn't actually get in away at the moment
5:43
And the last thing that I wanted to show is more of a security option
5:49
which will allow you to hide passwords. Now, as you probably know
5:54
whenever you're typing some kind of passwords, for instance, I'm going to go here, and you type in password
6:00
You can see that there's always a latest letter I have pressed visible
6:04
It's maybe not long for about a second or two, but it's still longer than we'd say any password
6:11
should be visible. And there's actually an option and the settings to make it immediately invisible
6:18
so you won't actually see what you're pressing. The letter that is appearing there
6:22
will be immediately at that. So to do that, we would go into the security and privacy
6:29
Top on more. And you'll see right here, show a password. Disable that
6:34
And now if we go back to the password, I think I'm actually probably need to
6:40
no, I don't even need to close it. So as you can see, there is no more letter visible
6:46
It's immediately just that you don't. dot. So it's a nice addition to like secure it if you don't want someone to gain your password
6:56
just by looking over your shoulder. But yeah, this would conclude all the tweaks and tricks
7:01
that I want to share. And if you found any of them helpful, don't forget to like, subscribe
