Welcome
0:07
In front of me, an Aces Xenophone 7 Pro, and today I'll show a couple tweaks and tricks you can do on this phone
0:14
So we're going to start off with the always-on panel, which is just their fancy way of calling, basically the always-on display
0:21
So let's open up settings and then go to display and look for the always-on display and look for the always-on display
0:30
always on panel. There we go, so I already missed it. Okay, so once you find it, you can simply enable it by
0:42
checking it on like so. Now, you also have clax tiles, and here
0:48
well, not very many of them, but you do have three different ones, so you can choose whichever one you like the most
0:55
So, apply it, and from there, once you lack the device, once I actually find the locking button, there we go
1:02
Give it a second, and there we go. So this will be basically always on visible when the screen is off
1:11
I will also mention that having this on will consume more battery
1:15
so if you want to preserve as much of it as you can, this probably won't be for you
1:20
But if you want to have, for instance, a quick lens whenever you're working
1:25
or for instance laying in bed, then this is a fairly decent option honestly
1:32
Now moving on to the next one, it's going to be a simple refresh rate
1:37
By default, it's set to automatic, but we can change it to be basically static, always on at a specific refresh rate
1:45
And again, it's under display right under here, refresh rate. So you can top on it
1:50
And from here, you can either go for 90, which will look better, or you can go for 60, which will consume less battery
1:57
So again, there's a trade-off for it. You can have it look nice or have longer battery life
2:04
But personally, to me, 90 is way better than having your device live a little bit longer
2:10
That's just my personal opinion. So if you're overly not sure what this does, let me just explain it and the way that I feel like I can
2:22
So the high refresh rate, you have the smoother things look. And to put it in a little bit more of a rudimentary kind of perspective
2:33
imagine refresh rate being like a slideshow. So in a normal one with a 60, you have, for instance, 60 slides per second
2:44
Now, this is fairly fast slideshow. But with 90 hertz, you get 90 slides per second
2:50
which is more images displayed in a single second. Now, in normal circumstances, if you're thinking about photos, it doesn't really make sense, right
2:59
But in terms of, for instance, scrolling. So imagine this, for instance, me scrolling up and down in a single second, you just had 90 images being displayed instead of 60
3:11
So there was more images in between that were shown, making the scrolling animation look way smoother than it did with way less, for instance, skipping
3:20
This looks, you can see the difference when you're, when you're really
3:24
looking at really fast-paced moving images, so if you would be doing something like this
3:30
This will be way more apparent at that point. Now, due to the limitations of this recording, you will not be able to see a difference between
3:38
60 and 90. Basically anything on the recording past 60 just kind of gets lost
3:43
So to you, the 90 that I have right now looks like 60. So that is something that you'll have to enable yourself to see it for yourself
3:52
but in my opinion it looks way better and it's totally worth the drawback of the battery
3:58
now moving on to the next one it's going to be the style
4:03
which again is under display so let's look for it now we go
4:08
and in here we have a couple different options it's not just fun but we have fun style
4:13
color and shapes now shapes refers to things like icons and also the notifications right
4:20
here as you can see the tuggles are right now circular but if we change it to some inferences like square now we squared We can also change the color of them So if you prefer a different color even though there isn very many for some reason you can if you want it to
4:36
So there we go. You can see, it's now changed them. Then we have font style
4:43
skin pick, whichever font you like. If you find one that you find up using or appealing I meant
4:50
then simply check it and apply it. So this is kind of like a customization place
4:58
And talking about customization, we can also go into the status bar icons, which again are under display, right over here
5:06
And in here, as you can see, there's way too many tagles
5:12
And if you look at the status bar, we have a couple of them. I'm not sure where the first one is on the sleep, but then we have Bluetooth, do not disturb mode, airplane mode
5:20
So I just start turning them off. So let's go to do not disturb mode, gone
5:28
Bluetooth, gone. Airplane mode, gone. So as you can see, you can basically turn off everything that you want from your status bar and make it super clean
5:42
It might not be the best idea to turn off literally everything, but it is possible if you wanted to
5:47
So if I toggle basically everything off, let's see. There we go
5:55
So as you can see, the status bar is now completely clean
5:59
And if I leave, there is literally nothing in it. Now, if you pull it down, you will still see that all the taggles are turned on
6:06
Airplane motor is on, Bluetooth is on, all that stuff is still turned on
6:11
It's just not showing up in a status bar, which I consider to be a fairly nice trade-off
6:17
Well, not even trade-off channel, just a cosmetic change. I just don't really like to see things that I know are enabled because I always have them on like Bluetooth or Wi-Fi
6:30
It literally just collars my status bar for no reason, and this will allow you to just kind of get rid of it, which is super nice
6:39
Now moving on to something that isn't in the display section, it's going to be the split screen
6:45
So this is for the people that like to multitask. And to launch it, you have actually two different ways
6:50
but basically you start off by opening an app that you want to split screen with
6:55
So I'm going to start with YouTube as one of the better options, even though I don't think I'm connected to Wi-Fi
7:02
So the way it works is once you have it open, you can tap on a recent and then hold the application icon at the top
7:11
and as you can see it will show up this many, and from here you have the split screen button
7:17
This will then kind of minimize it for now, the application that you're trying to split screen with but what you can do now is
7:24
just tap on home and find an app that you want to split screen with so let's
7:28
open up Chrome as an example and there we go now we can split screen with two
7:33
different apps you can also resize it to basically play video in the entire
7:37
screen right here and then do additional whatever you want here and playing
7:44
with Chrome will not post videos even if you go home and you have YouTube on
7:48
top it will not pause the videos The coming time it will pause it is if you swipe it away completely or if you lack the device as per usual
7:58
And like I said, this is one way of enabling. The other way is right now it's full screen again
8:02
And the other way is by simply going through here. As you can see, you have multi window. You tap on it
8:09
And it will do basically the same thing as we did through recent. And again, you can tap on home and find your application if it's not in recent
8:16
So, moving on to the next one, it's going to be the system navigation
8:24
And you want to guess where it is? That's right, it's under display
8:29
So now let's open up display again and go to system navigation
8:36
There we go, some navigation. And what this will bring up is, well, gesture navigation, basically
8:42
So let's check it on. And you can see that there's this tiny little..
8:46
bar at the bottom. And the way this works is you swipe on it to go home
8:50
And once you home it just disappears because there is no further home you already on it So that is one gesture If you swipe up and hold this will bring up recent as you can see And if you swipe from any side of the display like
9:07
there is a glass which prevents me from actually doing this correctly. There we go
9:12
So as you can see, once you swipe from the side, it will bring up this arrow
9:16
And this is basically the back gesture. So it works basically from every application
9:25
Now, a little tip that I can give you if you have never used a gesture navigation is when
9:32
you're trying to go home specifically and you have this little bar, a lot of people try to swipe
9:38
it from the screen or trying to wrap the bar and swipe up on it, which I wouldn't say it's
9:44
the best way of doing it. Sometimes it will think that you're trying just to swipe up, just as you would normally
9:50
just navigate through the display. So if you're trying to get the home gesture always correctly or recent
9:58
advise you to try to start off of the displays. You can see basically from here, for instance, swipe up
10:03
and you're then guaranteed to basically get the gesture navigation correctly. Because like I said, sometimes you might not be able to do it
10:13
if you try to swipe from the display. And moving on to the next one, it's going to be the dark mode
10:22
which again can be accessed in the display section. So if we go in here, it's called something I believe else, not dark mode
10:33
I quickly find it. So, there we go, so there it is
10:46
It's called System Color Scheme. A overly complicated name for simple dark mode
10:52
So once you go in here, as you can see, it's even called dark, ironic, that they didn't
11:00
go with actually calling it dark mode, even though they still retain the darker light aspect
11:05
of it. But as you can see, once you actually check it on, it goes into dark mode
11:10
Now I believe this is an Amelette display. So with that in mind, anything that is fully dark or black, I mean, as you can see, has this
11:19
background right here and anything between here. as well as for instance right here, all between space
11:27
everything completely black will not be lit up. And it might not sound very good or anywhere like impressive
11:36
but if you consider this in terms of battery life, all the pixels that will be normally here are self-lit
11:43
and because it's completely black, they don't need to light up, making them basically not consume any battery
11:50
because it doesn't need to do anything here. So in dark mode, you will gain a little bit more battery life
11:57
It is nothing really significant, but it is still there, so I did want to kind of mention it
12:04
Now, there's also another option, as you can see, Auto Switch, and if you enable this
12:09
it will allow you to set it up to be sunrise to sunset, and basically turn on automatically whenever it's needed
12:15
and turn off whenever it's not. Now, personally, I feel like during the day, light one is better
12:21
While during night, I would rather not get my irises blown out by just pure white lights coming straight from my phone
12:29
So, this is a fairly good option to go with, in this case
12:35
And now moving off of actual display section, I'm going to go into the developer options
12:41
So if you're not sure how to enable the developer options, I'm going to quickly tell you
12:45
So you basically go into the system about phone, software information, and here you will have build number
12:54
Once you top on that seven times, if you have some kind of pattern, pin password, you will need to confirm it
12:59
But once you do, it will enable the developer options, which will be visible in the system right over here, developer options
13:08
And in here, there is two different things that I wanted to show. Number one, it's going to be right basically at the bottom here
13:14
which is quick settings developer tiles. And if you tap on it, you will have a bunch of different toggles
13:20
but the one that I'm going to be talking about is the sensors off
13:25
So this is for the privacy purposes Once you enable this we can leave the developer options for now And I just kind of want to show off the camera right here So as you can see camera is obviously
13:38
working. Clearly you can see it, right? So let's just close this, pull down the notification
13:44
panel, and now we have a new toggle from the sensors off. Enable this. And now if we go
13:50
into the camera, camera doesn't seem to work anymore. I can also try to flip it
13:55
it, error, just gave us an error that camera isn't really there
14:01
This will also disable things like your microphone. So it has a positive and negative downside to it
14:08
A positive is you can have total privacy. Negative is if someone calls you doing that total privacy and you pick it up
14:16
they won't be able to hear you until you pull down the notification and toggle it off
14:20
At which point you can then go back to your camera or whatever sensor was all
14:25
and it will start working as it normally should. So, like I said, this is for privacy purposes
14:33
And now going back to the developer options, right in here. Go back, there we go, and scroll
14:42
Basically down, I went all the way, so let's go back up
14:48
As long as I can find what I'm looking for. So it actually looks like
14:55
I cannot show the last option because it looks like it's not in here
15:01
Now I did see basically what I wanted to show is animation speeds. Usually developer options has the best animation speed control
15:09
which will allow you to change it from, for instance, one to half speed, increasing it basically drastically
15:15
or literally tuggling animations off. But it looks like this option is not visible here
15:21
Now, usually there is also animation speed somewhere in the settings, which, let's see if I can find it
15:32
Now go animation speed. Hey, it's under display. And this is actually the same one that you would find under the developer options, actually
15:45
So it's actually really nice here. So from here, as I said, you can change the animation speed
15:51
to be basically twice as fast by changing it to 0.5 or literally tuggling it off if you want to
16:00
Now also it is super nice in here that they give you a visual indication of what it will change
16:06
So the window animation speed is tiny window that are popping up whenever you're going to top on something like a drop-down menu
16:15
It will usually pop something like you can see right here. but then you also have things like right here, transition animation speed, so anything that is
16:23
transitioning like right here, or for instance, if you go home, and this is also a transition
16:30
I believe, and then we have animation duration scale, another animation here
16:37
So you could change all of them to be, for instance, off, which that's what I'm going to do, just to show a drastic difference, and, well, the home actually doesn't change because
16:46
the entire aspect of grabbing an application is kind of based on how quick you do it
16:54
But if you drop it, as can see, and tap on it, it goes instantly. And whenever you let go, it kind of disappears
17:00
If you go into recent, it is also just without any kind of animations
17:08
Now, this is also based on your speed. As you can see, you can grab it and drag it yourself
17:13
but if you let go, it just kind of glitches into instantly into the other application
17:20
So how basically turning it off might not be the most optimal way in terms of visual aesthetic
17:27
but it will basically be the fastest way you can get to your application. I would recommend going for the 0.5 speed, which will be basically best of both worlds
17:36
Which, that is basically what I use myself. But that being said, this will be
17:43
conclude the tweaks and took that on the chair and if you found this video helpful
