Welcome
0:07
In some of me I have the Sony Xperia Pro I or Pro 1
0:12
I'm not exactly sure which one is it. But anyway, today I will go over unboxing along with a quick overview of this device
0:19
So let's get started. This is the packaging that comes in. It doesn't really look like anything special
0:27
Actually the packaging kind of feels flimsy and cheap. and cheap. Anyway, in here we get the phone
0:32
Now, I'll mention that the phone has already been set up, so it's not necessarily super, like, new out of the box
0:40
but as you can see, it still has, like, stickers and all that stuff. So anyway, there is the phone
0:45
Under that, we have some paperwork just loosely dropped in here. And under that, we get our charger
0:53
So this is a Type C charger. It is a 30 watts, which you can see right over here
0:57
and obviously we get a cable with that so this cable will be type C to type C
1:04
just because of the charger you can see one end is type C and the other one is also type C
1:09
so there we go that's basically all we get in the box
1:13
and nothing more then in terms of the device itself there it is
1:20
it has an interesting design on a side it's not like smoother or anything it has it like
1:27
Peripherated edges. I think that's how it's called. Honestly, it kind of reminds me of, like
1:35
cheap, old outdated cabinets with the, like, a basically little thing on the edges
1:41
of, like, when you have a stool, whatever you call it, in the kitchen
1:47
and then the edges of it are kind of like this. Not necessarily the best thing that you might want to associate
1:53
a premium flagship phone with. Anyway, let's turn it on. hopefully there is battery
1:59
there's a little so it is turning on so right of the bat
2:03
right here we are looking at six and a half inches display that is a
2:07
16 44 pixels by 38 40 pixels so fairly dense display even this kind of size
2:15
now this is a OLED display so that's nice it's also 120 hertz refresh rate
2:24
so again another positive right here and what else is there we have HDR and
2:31
let's just quickly go through this setup HDR we have 82.5% screen to body
2:40
ratio with 643 pixels per inch that is massive amount I think that is the highest pixels per inch
2:49
that I have ever seen so in terms of the glance right here
2:56
protecting the display it's a corner glass glass vitus and that's basically all the
3:02
interesting stuff about the display it's quite all tons of purposes just a outstanding display right
3:08
here all that with high refresh rate and fairly dense display so everybody who even pixel
3:14
peeps at their device i don't think you can see any pixels right here just because of the
3:20
your stupid resolution that you have on this tiny euro display now
3:26
The second thing right here will be the cameras which are obviously at the back
3:32
And we have, what is it, a triple camera setup, it looks like. So all of them are actually three megapixel cameras So or not three cameras at 12 megapixel That what I meant to say So we are looking at 12 megapixel wide 12 megapixel telephoto
3:50
and a 12 megapixel ultra-wide. And also we have a 0.3 megapixel time of light
3:56
So it's a 3-depth sensor, which I assume is this little thing right here somewhere
4:02
So there we go. So the cameras are, I wouldn't say, necessarily like anything outstanding. It's only 12 megapixels. Do what was other device? I think
4:14
Google Pixel also has 12 megapixels camera, so that's similar in that regard. And there was also
4:21
another phone that I remember, like a flagship that came with also 12 megapixel sensors only. I think
4:28
it was also Samsung like Galaxy or Fold, but I can remember on top of my head to be like super
4:33
precise about it. Anyway, let's quickly look at the camera right here of this will
4:40
probably work best in hands of someone who actually knows what the heck they are doing with their camera, especially one like that. So yeah, but to be fair, I did
4:51
unboxing and like overview of Xperia mark I think was three with which also
5:00
use the same kind of like camera thing anything and their application
5:03
and that thing was god awful. I don't know if there was some faulty camera that I had on that model or whatever it was
5:14
The photos coming out of that device were next level terrible and there was nothing you could have done to actually improve them
5:23
So hopefully this is not the case right here. I really do hope that this phone holds up the standards with camera
5:33
I do have to say I really like the button. We do have a shutter button right here, so it makes it snapping photos really nice
5:55
It's also a two-face press so as you can see when you just lightly press it will start the live focus
6:03
I can just showcase this. As you can see, it's now focusing. The green dots are showcasing where it is focused
6:09
and then you can press it all the way to capture the photo. Really nice, really simple
6:15
So let's see what we get. We actually have a not as sharp of a photo as I would have expected
6:23
Now, to be fair, this might not be a bad thing. Obviously, Samsung and all the other manufacturers do artificially sharpened their photos
6:32
just so they look more appealing to the general public. But in certain cases you might want to have a little bit of a more soft-looking image
6:41
which will obviously look sometimes a little bit better, depending on what you're capturing
6:48
But still, looking at this right away, just a couple of snaps like that
6:53
I can already say that the camera right here is miles better than what I had experienced before
6:57
with the Xperia lineup, the Mark whatever. it was so there we go and I believe the other one also had like 12 megapixels so
7:06
it leads me to believe that I just had like some some kind of faulty camera right there
7:11
this one seems to be doing just fine anyway let's move over to
7:17
elastting which is just the internal specs of this device so we looking at a newest Snapdragon or maybe not the newest one right now anymore but it a Snapdragon 88 we have a 12 gigs of RAM and also we have 50012 gigs of built storage
7:35
with the UFS 3. I believe one storage. And let me quickly also check one more thing
7:45
I highly doubt that we have expendable storage, but I will check it just to be
7:50
certain. Oh actually I don't need that so I can just easily pop it out and damn I'll meiner
7:59
I'll be impressed here we have expendable storage on a premium device nice nice really nice
8:09
and apart from that we have a couple of things that you might not expect so we do
8:17
have a headphone jack right at the top which at this point is thing of the past
8:20
basically. We have a fingerprint sensor on a side button. Unfortunately I'll probably
8:27
prefer it under the display to keep it cleaner, but it is right here. Though this time
8:32
around it is at a much better location. Previous experience, I don't remember which one
8:37
exactly. Hit it in like I think somewhere right here, which was absolutely stupid. So
8:44
when you were holding the device, you had to literally shift your hands to press the
8:50
fingerprint sensor here it's not the power key the other one was also on
8:54
park but the power was on that stupid location but yeah when you're unlocking it
8:58
it's in a comfortable spot where you don't have to shift your hand to actually
9:02
access it which is an improvement here and anything else here to basically say about it
9:11
we do have some little little carving so you can hang something like a keychain or whatever
9:19
and that's about it from like the worth mentioning parts of it
9:24
Now last things last, the battery, it's a 4,500 million-power battery, which to be completely honest, at a phone at this size
9:33
the battery isn't necessarily like wowing me here. At this size of a phone, which almost resembles a remote control
9:40
I would prefer or expect something like a 5,000 million power at least
9:49
As a comparison, this is my phone that I use on a daily basis. This is the Mh20 Pro, and this seems small next to it, to be honest
9:58
Here you go. So in terms of width, it's about the same width, but height you can see that it is a little bit taller
10:14
Now, I don't know if there's anything else to say about this
10:19
device maybe apart from the price tax so this phone does come a little bit on an overpriced
10:28
overpriced area right here so it comes at around $1,200 which it's not including tax if you
10:38
include tax it's about 15,600 so for instance in euros it's about 1,700, 1600
10:47
hopefully this isn't a new phone anymore so I'm a little bit late to the party as
10:55
you can probably see so hopefully the price tag fell drastically from where it was
11:00
before to something more reasonable like a thousand bucks then yeah this phone might be actually really good it like 1500 bucks that that asking a little bit too much so now some people might actually still spend that money just because this is a Sony phone
11:21
and if I am correct it allows you to use for instance this device as a as a secondary display for your
11:28
like alpha camera right which from what I from what I'm aware
11:33
those displays can cost some pretty penny. So being able just to slap a phone to it and use that instead
11:42
might be more feasible option for some people where you already have like a package of a phone, good display
11:50
and basically latest features on a device, along with it doubling us as a display for your camera
11:57
So for some people, this price tag is completely justifiable. For other people like me, which doesn't use camera like that, nor do I have a reason to
12:10
This device doesn't have any use for me at the price range that it comes at
12:18
I do understand that there are probably people that will fight me on this one and say that the price is completely fine
12:27
because the device does more things that it's designed for. But to me and probably many other people
12:36
if you're just looking for a phone as a phone, like the name would suggest
12:40
this device is severely overpriced. For everybody else who wants to use this for its actual intended purposes
12:48
Additionally, then I assume the price is fine. But yeah. So that being said from a, from a
12:57
a, I guess, perspective of a casual person that won't really use this for its intended purposes
13:03
For me, it's a little bit overpriced and I probably wouldn't get it. Even though I will say straight out, I always like the Experia lineups, these devices
13:15
I like the aspect ratio and I like the device how it feels in hand. Additionally, a couple things that they include with them, but I could never justify the actual price
13:25
If they could give me a premium flagship device with, I don't know
13:29
skipping these overpriced features like they do for the cameras, where you can just use this as a secondary display for your camera
13:39
And I could, for instance, say, $500 bucks on it, logically speaking
13:42
because the device, the internals here aren't worth $1,500, as an example
13:50
So this phone comes, well, with a flagship specs, but flagship specs at this level cost about a thousand bucks at a good, well, from even Samsung, I believe
14:01
So if I could get the phone with things like, for instance, the multi-window switching
14:07
so it allows me to launch two different applications really quickly, and a couple of additional Sony features, I would be just super happy with this device
14:16
And it would be totally worth a thousand bucks. So yeah, that's basically my opinion right here from like a, just a normal
14:24
user that would look for a powerful phone, but just a phone
14:29
