Welcome
0:07
From that I mean Sony, Xperia 5 Mark 3 and today I'll go of unboxing along the really quick overview of it
0:14
So anyway, let's just pop it straight open. I will mention that, as you can see I did already go through the setup and unboxing of it
0:21
So let's just see what we get. Normally there is a sticker on the phone itself but it's just a sticker on the phone itself but it's
0:29
and we moved and substituted with the tempered glass right here so it's kind of why it's right here
0:34
normally we don't get the tempered glass obviously here we get some paperwork i'm not even gonna go
0:42
into it then below that we have a charger it's a type c to type c so that's nice and it's a
0:49
30 watt which you can see right over here and here we get a cable it's not really held by any
1:00
but obviously type C to type C cable. And that's basically all we get in the box
1:07
So let's move over to the phone itself so right of the bat you will be presented
1:12
with the 6.1 inch display though it feels a little bit smaller just because the
1:18
aspect ratio of it is 21 by 9 so it's way longer and a thinner like an ultra wide
1:24
monitor. I'm going to zoom in just a little bit. There we go
1:29
Okay, so going back to the screen itself, it's a 1080p by 2520 resolution which puts it at 449 pixels per inch
1:47
Probably on a higher side considering the size and the density of it, comparing it to any other flagship
1:54
and it's an OLED display that boasts a 1 billion color gamut with 120 hertz refresh rate
2:01
for some reason it's not HDR 10 plus certified it's just HDR which is weird considering this is an
2:09
OLED display but I assume it's not meeting the mags brightness requirement which like I
2:16
said for an OLED it's a little bit weird I'm trying to turn off the dark mode just so I can see how
2:22
looks like. Okay. So this is right now maxed out in brightness and it not even peaking the camera so yeah it a little bit on a lower side I guess Now moving on we have an 81 screen ratio
2:47
We do have bezels at the bottom and the top. And if I change the wallpaper, you'll be able to probably see them a little bit clearer
2:58
There we go. Didn't change it. Let's try that again. So you can see the bezels clearly now
3:12
We have a decent bezel at the bottom and even bigger one at the top
3:19
So that might... That is a little bit disappointing for a phone release at the end of actually 2021
3:28
So yeah, that's basically the display. Now moving over to the back which supposedly is basically the start of the show
3:35
We have a triple camera setup and we have a 12 megapixel. wide, then we have a telephoto sensor with again 12 megapixels and another 12 megapixel ultra
3:43
wide. And at the front right over here we have a 8 megapixel white sensor. Now I did
3:53
capture couple of photos with this camera and honestly it wasn't blowing me away but the
4:02
camera right here is not catering to me which is a simple-minded little
4:07
photography that basically allows me to snap a decent photo every time I press a
4:12
shutter button and this is more for the people that like to tinker around with their settings of the camera and get the perfect like exposures and all that
4:22
stuff making making the tiny little adjustments needed to have the photo that
4:28
you might be exactly looking for I was going You can see additionally, it does have a live focus
4:41
So whatever you select it will try to keep it selected. You can see it following the plant right now
4:50
Let's see. So we have two photos right here and that didn't really come out too well
4:55
For some reason it's focusing a little bit further behind. This one even worse in terms of focus
5:07
was supposedly focusing on. Let's try it again. Actually, let's just do it like this
5:23
There we go Hopefully this came out better It's okay. So you can see it a little bit better now. Photo
5:38
Looking fairly nice and the background is fairly blurred. Looks also nice
5:44
It doesn't have any kind of like artificial blurring where the plan just starts to have like weird
5:50
weird artifacts from this fake bouquet effect. So that's nice. Anyway, moving on, the processor in here is a snapjack and 888 and the device itself has an 8gabyte RAM
6:05
In terms of storage, we have two versions. We have a 128 and 256, both posting a UFS 3.X storage
6:15
Not exactly sure what the X supposed to be. So it's, I guess not really specified, but somewhere in the range of three point
6:23
And what else we get in here? Let's just see. We got a 4.5,000 million ampere battery, 30 watt charger like I mentioned before, which advertised with a 50% battery charge in 30 minutes. Okay-ish
6:41
Nothing really mind-blowing here, just a typical charging speed that you would expect for majority of the phones
6:47
And honestly that's basically all the decent information right here. We don't have a headphone jack, we have a type C
6:56
No, no, we do have a headphone jack. We do actually have a headphone jack
7:01
Wireless charging. It looks like there is no wireless charging in here
7:11
I do have a wireless charger embedded in a table, so that's kind of one I was placing off the screen
7:16
Anyhow, the price of it comes at about $900. So it's not the cheapest device by any means
7:27
And as basically every other Samsung X-Pyria device that came out, the price seems a little
7:36
bit inflated for features that not everybody will use. you pay for their Cinema Pro and Camera Pro applications, which like I mentioned, not everybody will utilize
7:49
So for the people that will not utilize this, it seems like an overpriced device
7:56
The cameras themselves also aren really mind from what I seen before And there a couple things that are lacking in this device for the price As an example wireless charger would be one of those Under display fingerprint sensor which is substituted by a power key combo
8:17
So this is also a fingerprint sensor. So yeah, the device in my opinion, in terms of a flagship phone, it's mediocre
8:28
I wouldn't say that it's maybe, I wouldn't say that it's worth a device. it's worth the price that it's going for
8:34
So if there's some kind of sale on it, then it might have been a little bit more worth it
8:39
but for a retail price of about 900 bucks, it's a little bit hard pill to swallow
8:46
Considering that there are definitely better options there, and one of the phones
8:51
which might not be the most fair comparison, because the phone that I'll be comparing it
8:58
it still would be the ASUS ROG, phone, that phone is specifically for gamers and has a kind of crappy camera but boy
9:09
does it excel in everything else and it will be cheaper than this so kind of
9:15
wanted to point that out so anyway phone itself is okay has kind of whatever
9:23
you'd expect lacking in certain departments like the fingerprint sensor wireless charging the refresh rate is okay screen itself is
9:31
though it would have been nice to have a little bit brighter one and one really good
9:38
plus in my opinion of this phone it is small as a comparison this is a
9:43
mate 20 pro which by today's standards is a small device I would say as you can see
9:51
it's basically the same size in terms of height but in terms of width that's where
10:01
That's basically where this XPR is way more compact. And honestly, I really like the aesthetic of it
10:10
The 21 by 9 aspect ratio is really nice in my opinion. I personally like it
10:14
So yeah, at the end of the day, like I mentioned, it's a hard pit to swallow to buy this phone
10:20
And the market that I'm buying it, or I get it from, it's overpriced and not really worth it
10:28
But for other people that... this might be on sale might be actually worth to pick up
10:34
