Welcome
0:07
And filming me is a RealMe Ate Pro, and today I will go over unboxing along with a quick overview of this phone
0:14
So, get straight to it. I'm going to try to stay away from my little plant right here
0:25
Because I did manage to knock it down before. before and make the ground go everywhere so gently going to put that side and now
0:36
let's get to the phone. Hi welcome to the real me family no one cares but we do care about
0:45
the screen protector that comes provided with the device so that's nice and apart from
0:55
paperwork and screen screen protector there is basically nothing else in here the top part. Then we get the phone which is put it to the side, some cardboard
1:08
a super hefty charger. So this is a 50 watt brick. This is an absolutely unit
1:17
Just make sure I'm trying to see about, but it's not even a 50. That is 65 watts. Now, probably seeing the tiniest text right
1:37
here will be impossible, so let me try to make it a little bit clear. I'm going to take my
1:43
phone, try to capture a macro shot, and then zoom it in. There we go. So if I zoom in, you
1:53
should see, there we go, 65 watt max. That is a brick
2:04
Then we got orange coating, as you can see, little orange coated type C cable with a USB 8 one end
2:13
And that's about it. So let's get to the phone itself. Now I will mention right off the bat, this is basically a little bit beefier version of the normal one, the RealMe 8
2:29
not the pro. So yeah, let's just turn it on. Now I'll mention there's a little bit
2:39
of a difference, the at least the one that I had the eight of normal one had like
2:44
this two-tone, well fairly reflective surface, glassy one. Well this is just
2:52
purely mad surface with the writing right here. Dare to leap. written on it. Kind of like it. It's still really cool I would say. Now this feels like
3:07
plastic so there's not much of quality feel to it. In a hand it feels a little bit weird
3:15
But anyway let's jump straight to the display which you can already see me
3:20
fiddling with so display right here is a 6.4 inch display and honestly I will
3:27
mention one thing right off the bat. The, you just also move the light, this version of a phone which is close to a hundred dollars more than the normal one, the non-pro, has basically very little differences between
3:43
So I will quickly mention just the differences, which is a single camera instead of a hundred or the eight one has a 64 megapixel instead of 108
3:55
The processor is here we have a snapdragon 720G while the non-pro version has a Helio G95
4:04
and overall the charging is better on this device by like twice as much I believe
4:11
so yeah the charging is here a major selling point of I would say the pro version right here
4:18
and the upgraded camera other than that the display exactly the same and majority of
4:25
the things that this device can do is exactly the same. This size, same, built quality, same
4:31
It just honestly there is little to differ than between I would say And I also add one more thing that for and or not that this device costs or in this case
4:49
I believe the Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro will be a better choice here
4:56
It doesn't come with an Ammelet display, but boy, it has basically everything better than this device
5:00
outside of the Amolet display and the charging speed. So yeah. Now, going back to this specific one, if you don't know the normal one
5:13
I'm just going to assume you have no clue about the normal 8, RealMe 8
5:17
so I'm going to basically describe this as its standalone. So screen on here is a 6.4 inch display, 1080p by 2400, super Amolet display with a peak bright
5:30
of 1000 knits, 83.3% screen to body ratio and 411 pixels per inch
5:39
So by all means the display here is really, I'll say, decent
5:43
The only thing that I would say it's missing is a higher refresh rate
5:48
which at this day and age I would consider it to be a requirement
5:52
Almost every device has it. And honestly, it's a... Personally, I prefer faster refresh rate over the level
5:59
the refresh rate of a display rather than having it amoleted. Now even better would be to have both of them but I guess we can't have everything so I'd
6:07
prefer the refresh rate over it. So yeah now you can clearly see the display and let me also max it out
6:15
This is the how bright it gets normally. Now I would say it gets fairly bright should be visible in direct sunlight so yeah
6:26
Now moving on to the back where we have the quadruple camera setup, only worth mentioning one, the 108 megapixel white sensor
6:36
rest of them are kind of garbage. So we have the 8 megapixel ultra-white and 2-mapsal depth and macro
6:43
So honestly, depth and macro, don't even use them. If you're wondering about the depth sensor, because you can't really use it alone
6:51
If you use the portrait mode, it does use the depth sensor
6:55
which will make your photos come out worse, so just try to stay away from it
6:59
That's just kind of my advice. But anyway, let's open up the camera and see how it captures photos
7:07
There we go. So, let's go straight to 108 megapixels just so we can capture, you can see right here, 108
7:22
Just so we can get the best quality. I'm going to move the light to the other side
7:27
maybe a little bit above, there we go, just so I have the best lighting for it
7:34
So that is 108, then I'm going to go to photo which is just a normal, it's probably going to be down scaled
7:57
And lastly, we're going to go into portrait
8:27
The last thing that I can test is the macro, although I already know what the result
8:36
of a macro here will be. So let's go over here, ultra macro and capture it
8:43
There we go. Okay, so we got all the photos
8:52
Hopefully I can remember the order of them. So here is the macro, which is completely abhorrent photo
9:00
Don't use macro, useless. Actually, no what, I'm going to go into the gallery app
9:06
There we go. So this is the... There we go. That's the way it was going. Macro
9:12
Next one This is the portrait mode which honestly it not that bad So what I usually pay attention to just so you are aware is the blur and how the device deals with the blur right
9:29
So on here it maybe just got super lucky or doesn't really look like it though
9:36
The pine needles or the needles of the cactus are still kind of blurry and a bit of a bit
9:43
background but there is no visible kind of like outline where it decides to
9:48
basically go from focus to blur which is what a lot of even the eight the real me
9:55
eight did just so yeah and here it looks really good maybe they
10:00
tweaked it a little bit to make it work way better so the I guess that
10:06
portrait mode here is acceptable although who knows may it might not be
10:10
even using the the depth sensor to be completely honest with you. There's no real way to actually test it, I believe
10:17
So yeah. Now next photo here is the macro or not macro my bed, the ultra wide, as you can
10:22
probably see based on that kind of weird fish eye lens effect. So yeah
10:28
The actual quality of the ultra white is just okay. I can't say it's winning any awards or
10:38
it's looking anyway like good or something like that. It's just a normal photo
10:43
which yeah I personally I wouldn't be using them it just lacks a little bit of
10:50
quality so here this is a five times a zoom so this is what do you call it
10:59
electronic or optical basically it just zooms in the photo crops it in closer
11:07
so it's basically taking a higher resolution and making it lower by zooming in on it
11:13
So, right of the bat, I can tell you that this does way, I mean like way better job at capturing
11:24
a macro shot than the macro lens. So if you pay attention like right over here as an example, you can see a single thread
11:33
This cactus does have kind of like this weird fuzzy stuff between the needles, which if we go back
11:39
to the macro, it just wasn't there. Here you can see just the single threads if you look in
11:48
So this did way better job at a macro. Now this is a three-time zoom
11:53
Same as before, just a little bit of a less of a zoom. And again, looks outstanding
11:59
There is a lot of quality in here, detail. The lighting of it is also fairly good and I would say really accurate
12:06
to how it looked like when I was capturing it. So decent shot here
12:11
And then this is just a normal. white sensor and again use them in you can clearly see again a lot of detail in the
12:19
photo it did also do a fairly nice bocay effect behind where as you can see like
12:24
the glasses are not in focus they're just blurry as heck but it's not like fake
12:32
blur so it looks really nice here and then we we had the 108 megapixel sensor
12:43
So, one thing that I can already see is this photo is darker
12:49
Not sure if you can see it, but maybe the light was differently placed
12:53
I don't exactly recall if I changed it back then. But... Nope, I didn't
12:59
I can see the reflection. So yeah, it is darker, but also allows me to..
13:05
Hello, light, there we go. But it also allows me to zoom on way closer
13:09
Because the 108 megapixel captures at full 180. megapixels capturing the photo at way higher resolution
13:17
So let's see. If we go into details, we can see that this is 12,000 by 9,000 pixels
13:24
This is an absolutely huge photo. Actually, let me check how much space it takes
13:30
So this takes 16 megabytes of space, a single photo. And if we go..
13:36
Sorry for the light, it's dying out on me. And if we go to the normal one, just a white sensor, this takes
13:43
1.8 megabytes. And the size is instead of 12,000 by 9,000 is 4 by 3,000
13:52
So you can see significantly less detail But anyway cameras here at the 108 megapixel sensor does a fairly good job and can really complain about it Now
14:02
if it's worth paying a hundred bucks more for it or, well no I bet, 50 bucks more, it's something that I guess you will have to
14:10
decide yourself. Now going over the rest of the device, which is the internals of it, like I had mentioned before, comes with a
14:20
the Snapdragon 720G. It has only one version of storage, so 128 gigabytes, two different
14:29
versions of RAM, so six or eight gigabytes, a little bit different from the non-pro version
14:36
which also had a 4-gabyte version, but other than that, it was basically the same
14:41
Also, the storage here is expendable via SD card, and it is UFS 2.1, which is a little bit sad
14:48
I would prefer to see 3.1, honestly. But, oh wow, battery, a 4,500 million ampower battery with the 65 watt fast charger right here that we have
15:01
And apparently they advertise it that it will charge your device up to 50% in 17 minutes and 100% in 47
15:09
Now, to be fair, if we go, if I look at the RealMe 8, the non-pro version of it
15:15
it had a crappier charger at only 30 watts and it's charged to 50% and 20%
15:20
in 26 minutes instead of 17, but it also had 5,000 Mali-ampo battery instead of 450
15:28
So there is a little bit of a difference here. Smaller battery for some reason and
15:34
well, better charger but then again I can charge something faster when I have to charge it less
15:41
you know what I mean? So it's a little bit of a shame that it came with a smaller battery for some reason
15:50
It just seemed like a lazy excuse to keep everything the same, the same display and build quality
15:57
I assume it was cheaper for them to do so, but then like battery suffers on a more premium version
16:04
It just doesn't make sense. So just to finish it off, I would have to say that the pro version seems like a missed opportunity
16:16
This device could have been way better. could have come with 120 hertz refresh rate as an example
16:21
and that would have put the device above the eight non-pro version of it
16:27
other than that this device in my opinion has no place it just seems like
16:32
what they did put in this device they could have put on the lower one and just remove one of
16:37
those options they're trying to pollute the market with their devices in a way but
16:44
there's no reason for it it's it's almost exactly the same device, looks the same and has majority of the same components
16:54
in terms of same display. Basically the display is exactly the same as the step down model
17:00
the only difference is in it is in a processor and in single camera. So, and the battery and charging
17:07
speed. Those are the three only differences that are between those two and it's lacking
17:16
the pro feel if you know what I mean. Like it, when you hold this device, it just kind of feels
17:22
cheap, which isn't something that I thought I would ever say about something that has a word
17:28
pro in it. So that's, I would say, one drawback here. And honestly, when we look at this device
17:35
and compare it to other devices, as an example like I mentioned before, the Poco X3 Pro
17:42
price basically the same. It doesn't come with Amulet and has a
17:46
slower charging speed but other than that the device is better in every single way possible
17:51
compared to this one. Starting off with the processor it's just going to blow this one out of the
17:58
water like out of the park there's no comparison the phone will feel so much faster and more premium
18:03
than this and the price is the same so if you have to pick between those and you don't care about the
18:08
amulet display and maybe under finger under display fingerprint sensor then go with the the poco instead of this one
18:16
this just doesn't seem like it's worth it. And that's basically what I'll conclude this video at
18:22
So if you found this very helpful, don't forget to hit like, subscribe and thanks for watching
