Welcome, and follow me as an APPO pod 2, and today I'll show you a couple of tweaks and tricks you can do on this tablet
0:12
So, let's get started by opening up our settings, and we're going to navigate first to wallpaper and style
0:20
And in here we have a couple things that I can customize for general look of your device, colors
0:27
for instance, this allows you to change the colors of the toggles right here
0:31
By default, they will be blue. I think that's at least the default. So pretty bland
0:35
Now, interesting option in here is that you can set it up to be based on the wallpaper color
0:40
So this will check what wallpaper you have right now and adapt it to match your current wallpaper
0:47
So right now, it gives me these options right here. So let's actually go back
0:55
Can I change the wallpaper from this to... That's just something like this
1:02
I can see that the..
1:12
Oh no, never mind, there we go. So here we have now a little bit different colors
1:17
Now the first one, the custom one, it still looks the same, but obviously this one allows you to customize it..
1:23
customize the colors yourself. yourself. Now you can select one of them and the effects will be taking place
1:30
right away as you can see. So from here you can pick one and whenever you
1:39
done change the wallpaper these will also change. Now going back we also
1:46
have the quick settings and this allows you just to change the shape of them. I have a couple choices right here not very many but still pretty
1:54
nice options anyway. I'm going to select something like squares as an example and you can see
1:59
that they automatically change. Now moving on to the next option it's going to be the home screen
2:06
and black screen and in here we have a couple different things. So starting off we have the home screen mode. This will allow you to choose either from a drawer so typical Android or the
2:15
basically all apps smack in the middle of your home screen. The aka apple like look, which for some
2:23
reason it's stupidly called standard mode. Yeah it might be standard just not for
2:27
Androids. So anyway from here you can choose whichever one you prefer more. I do
2:33
personally prefer the drawer mode so that's what I'm gonna stick with and we also
2:37
have some other tuggles at the bottom so you can check those out but going back
2:41
to the home screen and live screen we have an outdoor thing in here or a couple actually so we have swept down on home screen By default this opens up a shelf I don really care for the shelf I do prefer the notification I do prefer the notifications so that what I to select And whenever you will swipe down on your home screen right now it will automatically pull your notifications instead of opening up the crappy little shelf
3:06
Now we have also the task bar, which is... How do I bring it up? I don't know how to bring it up
3:18
Anyway, maybe I just can't. I'm pretty sure we should be able to, but in any case
3:28
in here you can select recent applications, so they're showing right here
3:34
So if you don't want those, I just, maybe you want to have a stable bar that is not changing
3:41
then you can turn that function off in there. Now anyway, moving on, I'm going to go to the display and brightness, and I'm going to start off
3:48
here with the dark mode and light mode. Now below that we do have a scheduled mode so it will allow the device to
3:55
switch between these two modes automatically either based on a provided timer of your choice so you can select start for a light mode and then
4:05
the time it ends and switches to dark mode or you can set it up to be sunset to sunrise
4:11
and the device will automatically pick the time and will be also automatically
4:16
switching between those. Now, moving on to the next option in here, it's the..
4:22
Where is it? It's not here. So I'm going to stick with some odd one and move over to it, I believe, into the
4:34
notifications, but that will be later. Now, moving on, we have the natural tone display
4:40
basically ripped off from Apple True Tone. It functions very similarly. It just makes a display
4:45
look a little bit more yellowish it's a little bit more excessive than it is on on iPads as an
4:52
example or any iPhones but still if you for instance tend to read on the device this is actually
4:56
pretty nice option to have it just makes it display a little bit more pleasant to look at in terms of
5:02
like long prolonged periods of usage so you could check that out and also sticking with the color
5:09
mode for your screen we have the color or what is it a color screen color screen color
5:15
And by default, to no surprise, it's set to Vivid. Almost, I think every device is set to Vivid, or any kind of like different naming that they have
5:28
So here, Vivid is... Boy, is it overdone. Oh, wow. So yeah, I think I'm going to stick with the Natch Roll
5:39
Now the reason I turned off the pseudo tone at this point true tone the display is because as you can see when you select natural and does also change the temperature rate here so it already makes it more yellowish
5:54
the display and if you even enable this it makes it I believe even more so
5:59
Okay so it's not as big of a difference as when we're going from Vivid to natural tone display
6:12
but it's still a little bit warmer. So anyway, let me turn that off
6:21
Yes, I did. So we also have the Pro Mode. We have real, whatever that is
6:28
But in all honesty, the actual natural looks the closest to actual, like, reasonable colors
6:38
Specifically, on this device, I would say that the reds are just
6:42
way too overdone. So on Vivid, it's bad. It's really bad. But real, they try to tone it down, but still reds are just me
6:56
Natural makes it at least a little bit more reasonable. These colors are just way too vibrant for what this is supposed to look like
7:06
Now below that, we also have the color temperature so you can select either natural, vivid or real
7:12
and you can also change the warmth or the goldenness of the display
7:16
So obviously warm means a little bit more yellowish orange tint. The default is just what the device is usually so between and cold is blue
7:28
So no way I'm going to keep it out default. Okay. Now moving into additional options that we have in here we have the UltraVision Engine
7:41
just a fancy name for pretty basic options like image sharpening. Now this will consume a little bit more of your battery
7:50
because it does use the processor to try to upscale the image, or video in this case
7:57
Although even though it says image, it's showing me a video, mixed messages here, but whatever
8:03
As you can see, hopefully I'm going to bring it up a little bit closer, and you can see the effect of it
8:09
The easiest way to spot it is look at the B and it looks kind of blocky
8:14
And once it moves to the other side it becomes a little bit more sharp
8:19
Or significantly sharp. Now I don't know if this is going to be the, this kind of a visible effect for your videos
8:29
or whatever you will be viewing for the upscale, but still you can enable it and have it work
8:35
in the background whenever you checking out content that it supports it will provide you or try to provide you with a little bit better image quality and same goes for the video color boost and now this is just
8:47
standard definition to hdr so it just tries to take normal videos and make them more hdrish
8:54
or probably you can check it out if you like it or not but something tells me that this will
9:00
this might be closer to hdr end rather the than actually working as you can see
9:06
the difference between these two images is not too noticeable. If you wouldn't see side-by-side comparison, this is something that you wouldn't see really
9:18
If I would show you two different images and just swipe between them, there is no way you
9:23
would see a difference, and this also consumes more power. But if you want you can obviously enable it and check it out if you like the effect
9:34
that it does for video content. Now moving on to the last options, it's going to be the notification and status bar
9:41
And in here I want to focus on one and only one option, which is the status bar
9:46
And in here, I have a couple different options strictly for the status bar
9:50
I like my device to be really clean looking. So as little information as possible
9:57
Now, one plus, Apple does have these options that again toggle off in here
10:03
so that's actually a really nice feature. and we can basically toggle most of this garbage off
10:10
because let's be honest most of this is just kind of useless info anyway
10:15
so by hiding it you just remove clutter from your status bar
10:19
and additionally keeping with the cleanness you also have the options for like battery style
10:24
so you have the several different batteries and I select this one
10:28
just like the way it looks like and you also can turn off the battery percentage
10:31
now battery percentage for the normal battery is actually being shown inside of it so it still keeps it relatively keen but for this one it's outside of it so i just want to
10:43
get rid of it and then lastly we have the notification icons by default every phone or every tablet
10:50
will have the show icons so it shows you each individual icon kind of like this but you can for
10:56
instance nowadays change it to something like show just a number of notifications you have so to view
11:01
those notifications you hold down your status bar or you can hide the
11:06
all the notifications altogether, so they don't show up in your status bar
11:11
So, I personally prefer the number. So that we go. Now, with this being said, if you found this very helpful, don't forget to hit like
