Welcome, it's Mamies on Honor 8 and today I will show you how to insert SIM and SD card into the device
0:14
And to get started we'll need one of these things, a SIM eject tool. This comes provided with the device in a box, so you can get it from there
0:21
You can also use a paperclip, straightening one on the ends and it should work just as well
0:26
Now once you have it, it's going to pop out the tray. It's located as you can see right here on the top left corner of the device
0:33
So where the pin is holding. And once you find a tiny little hole there, push the pin in and the tray will pop out
0:40
As you've just seen. And once you take it out you will have space for either two different SIM cards or one SIM card and one SD card
0:49
If you are planning to use two SIM, you would place one on the SD tray like this
0:55
But I'm going to be using one of each, so I'm going to move it over and put the SD card as well
1:06
And that's kind of how it's supposed to look like. Now the cards should be laying flush on the tray and from there simply insert it back into the device
1:15
Now carefully, you don't want the cards to pop out. It's not like they're being held by anything in place
1:25
There we go. And there is the pin for the SIM card
1:32
Now one thing that Honor and Huawei devices, and I believe one more, does that is just absolutely infuriating
1:40
is when you insert a SIM card, it will automatically change the language to the SIM card language
1:47
So because my SIM card that I inserted is from Poland, as you can see it just changed the entire system language to Polish
1:54
Additionally, more annoyingly, it also removed English out of the list of languages that was already in there that you've chosen, as an example, through setup
2:05
That doesn't matter for Huawei, and well, in this case Honor, but that's the same company
2:10
So anyway, once you encounter the same kind of annoyance, but as an example you just changed your device's language to some language that you don't understand
2:20
I'll quickly show you how you can change it. So you'll want to find the settings icon, which is always looking like this
2:28
And once you open it up, scroll all the way down, and you're going to go into advanced settings, which is this, again, gear icon, as you can see on the side
2:40
Third option from the bottom. And from here, you're going to select the second option
2:46
So it should be date and language, or time and language, something like that
2:52
And the second option will be languages. So choose that one. And then right at the top you have the language that is currently in
3:00
Click on it. And then select the blue text below that, which is add language
3:05
And find your desired language. So for me, I'm just going to re-add English, which this was in at the start
3:14
And now that I have added it, I can now actually slide it up and reactivate the language that I had the device in
3:22
So this is for the people that get their language changed to some other language that they might not understand
3:28
But obviously, the part of the inserting SIM card and SD card went smoothly
3:34
There was no problem with that one. It's just the language. So anyway, that's where you can find this option to change it back to your original language
3:43
