Welcome and for now I'm using Xiaomi Poco M4 Pro and today I'll show you how you can

hard reset the device through settings. So to get started obviously you want to open up your settings

From here select about phone and at the bottom you'll find factory reset and here you have

a message or kind of list of things that it will remove. So as you can see here is the following items

Accounts, contacts, photos, videos, apps, backup, SD card data and other items on the device

Now to be fair this is probably the worst way of explaining what this does or what it

removes so let me put it in different terms that might be understood easier for some people

So things that you shouldn't really care about are things like accounts, app data and so

on because this is everything that it can get back once you re-login to your Google

account or whatever thing and just re-download the apps. Other thing that you do want to care about are data that is stored directly on the phone

itself, not on the SD card like it's said right here, on the phone

So if you pop out the SD card anything that is left on the phone, storage like photos

videos, music, documents, that is the things that you want to preserve

Do make a copy of it before you begin otherwise you will lose it and can't get back

Now I believe it gives us an option to back it up

Once we select the button right here as you can see so you click on erase all data and

if you want to keep some of those stuff it allows you to back it up I believe to the cloud

So it's going to be backed up to Xiaomi cloud. So you do need a Xiaomi account for this if you want to utilize it

Obviously you can also back up the data that you want to preserve to your computer or some

SD card and just use that instead. And for everybody who has already done so or simply don't want to back up all you need

to do is select factory reset. Now you're blocked by 10 seconds right here and another 10 seconds on the next page

Xiaomi really wants to hammer the fact that this does remove everything for basically

everybody that can't figure that out already. So there we go we have 20 seconds of our life that we're never going to get back

And now we can proceed by selecting OK and I guess that's going to take probably another

like three minutes to finish up. Once it has we should be good to put Android setup screen
