Welcome, Vlamis here, HomeTom S9+, and today I'll show you how to boot the device into
0:12
safe mode. To get started, hold the power key, and when you see the boot options here, what you want
0:18
to do is hold the power off. This will bring up a window Reboot to Safe Mode, so if you want to reboot into safe mode
0:25
this will disable all third-party applications you have installed. They'll be restored once you reboot again
0:31
So let's confirm it by tapping on OK, and I'm going to quickly explain what this is
0:36
primarily used for, or what I see the applications for it as
0:40
So as an example, if your device is malfunctioning, battery is draining a little bit too quick
0:47
than you're used to, or something is just not working properly, you can boot your device
0:51
into safe mode, and this will disable basically every app that you have installed, only the
0:57
pre-existing apps, when you set up your device, the ones that come like the phone dialer and
1:01
stuff like that, will be accessible. So in this mode, you can then test if those problems still persist, and if they do, that
1:07
means that whatever problems you are having are not based on anything that you have installed
1:15
and are probably caused by the phone itself, so some hardware malfunctioning
1:23
So let's just wait for it to boot up. And there we go
1:34
So as you can see, also in safe mode, you have this permanent watermark right here
1:38
safe mode, just so you are aware that we are right now in the desired mode, and for some
1:42
reason the launcher has stopped working, that's always a great sign. There we go
1:54
Well, it looks like the phone considers the launcher to be absolute trash, and just doesn't
2:00
even allow it to start, so that's kind of nice. But yeah, anyway, this is how you would boot your device into safe mode, hopefully you're
2:09
not having a problem with the launcher crashing, because otherwise you can't really do anything
2:13
at least not on the home screen, you could still access settings if you wanted to, I
2:18
believe, so yeah, but the launcher for some reason is just considered to be, well, not
2:25
really a primary application. So anyway, once you're done with it and you want to leave this mode, hold park key once
2:32
more and simply tap on reboot. And this will reboot the device and take you back to the normal mode
2:43
And there we go, as you can see we are now back in normal mode
2:47
