Welcome, everyone on me is Honor 90 and today I'll show you how you can enable and set up your portable hotspot
0:11
So to get started, pull down your toggles by swiping down from the top right side of your screen like this
0:19
And in here we're looking for hotspot. For me, it is the second toggle right over here
0:24
Once you see it, if you're doing this the first time, I recommend holding it
0:29
This will then quickly take you to the settings where first thing that you probably will want to do is change the password
0:35
By default, it will be randomly generated. As you can see, it's kind of abominable
0:40
So I'm going to remove it and then set up my own new password, which will need to have at least eight characters in length
0:48
This one has it, obviously, and it's pretty easy. So that's good enough for me
0:52
Anyway, I'm going to select OK. And under more, we have a couple additional settings like the AP band
0:59
Now, I believe by default is set to 2.4, which is good for everyone, because if you don't know
1:07
for instance, if you're trying to connect to this hotspot with any kind of device and you don't know what it supports
1:13
2.4 gigahertz Wi-Fi will support any device that has just Wi-Fi connectivity
1:19
We do also have the Wi-Fi 5 gigahertz option, which is faster, but the downside is older devices will not be able to support it
1:29
And I mean older devices from like 2018 back, something along those lines
1:34
So the best thing that I can give you if you want to use the faster option, but you don't really know what the devices support
1:43
what you can do is enable the 5 gigahertz. And when you turn on your hotspot and set the device that you're trying to connect with
1:51
just simply does not see the hotspot at all in the Wi-Fi list
1:55
then that means that the device does not support Wi-Fi 5 gigahertz
2:00
And all you would need to do to solve this problem is go back here, change it back to 2.4
2:04
And at that point, it should instantly appear in your list and you can connect to it
2:09
Now, additional option in here is the mobile hotspot turn off timer
2:13
By default, it will be set to 5 minutes. You can increase this to something maybe like 10 minutes
2:17
I don't recommend turning it off. Hotspot does consume more of your phone's battery
2:21
And I would personally probably forget to turn it off. So it'd be running indefinitely in my background and consuming more of my phone's battery
2:30
But this option would basically turn it off after it detects that no device is using the hotspot for 10 minutes
2:37
So therefore, it would be saving my battery as well. So there we go
2:42
Those are all the options. So I'm going to now just close this and let's find the toggle once more, tap on it
2:48
And now it's enabled and we can connect to it with our other device
2:53
And when you're done with the hotspot, you can quickly turn it off by finding the toggle once again and simply tapping on it once more
3:00
So there we go. Now, if you found this very helpful, don't forget to hit like, subscribe

and thanks for watching
