In front of me is a Motorola Moto G51 and today I'll show you how you can enable the
0:13
power saving mode. And to get it started, all you need to do is pull down your notification panel straight
0:20
from the top, expand it and look for the toggle. As you can see for me it is located on the second page
0:28
Now this is the default orientation of all the toggles, so if you haven't changed the
0:32
orientations of yours, it should be roughly in the same place. Once you locate it, simply tap on it and it will give you a quick message what the battery
0:42
saver will do to your device. As you can see it will turn on dark theme, turns off or restricts background activities
0:50
some visual effects and other features like Hey Google. Now in terms of the background activities, it just terminates apps that are running in
0:59
the background after a couple minutes just to save on the battery and when it comes down
1:02
to visual effects, as an example it will turn off your 120 Hz refresh rate of your display
1:08
and change it back to 60 to preserve battery. So let's select turn on and there we go
1:15
So that is the default thing that the power saving mode does
1:22
If you want to extend your battery even further, greater than what the actual battery saver
1:28
does, you can do a couple of things yourself as well. So when we pull down on the notification panel, you can see that I have a bunch of toggles
1:33
right here. Number one, if you're not using your Bluetooth, you can turn it off
1:39
For Wi-Fi or mobile data, if you aren't using Wi-Fi, turn it off and just utilize the mobile data
1:47
So the device doesn't need to look for Wi-Fi all the time. And on the second page, we have NFC
1:52
If you're not using it, turn it off. It's primarily most of the time used only to pay for things at the store
1:59
At least that's what I use it for and when I'm not using it, I always have it off
2:04
And a last and probably the most important change you can do to gain some huge amounts
2:10
of battery is the brightness. So by dropping it halfway on most of the devices, that drop from like max to half, yields you
2:20
several additional hours of battery life. Five hours or so should be the thing that you should expect
2:27
I don't think there is a way for us to know how much it will give
2:33
Let's see. Yeah, it looks like it does not change the timer right here
2:39
It gives us just an approximation of the mode. So battery saver on at 85% I just calculated at about 1 day and 10 hours
2:53
And even though I would drop the brightness, it does not change, which you can see it's
2:57
still 1 day and 10 hours, which with this kind of brightness, it should be significantly more
3:05
So anyway, there is a couple of things that you can toggle yourself for extra battery life
3:11
So let's start going back to the normal battery saver. Once you're done with it, you can turn it off by tapping on a toggle once again, and
3:19
everything should go back to the way it was before. So that being said, if you found this very helpful, don't forget to hit like, subscribe
3:28
and thanks for watching
