Welcome! In front of me is a Samsung Tab Active and today I will show you how you can put this device into safe mode
0:10
To get started, you want to hold your power button and volume up
0:20
Or is it volume down? Nope, it's volume down. So yeah, hold the power button, volume down and this will bring up your boot options
0:30
And here you want to hold power off. This will then, as you can see, change into safe mode. Tap again to restart your tablet in safe mode
0:41
Downloaded apps will be temporarily disabled to help you troubleshoot your tablet
0:45
So I'm just going to tap on that once more to initiate that reboot. And just to explain this method, it is designed for troubleshooting your tablet, meaning the mode
0:55
So in this mode, any application that you have installed yourself will be temporarily turned off and neither you nor the device will be able to start it up
1:02
So the device kind of becomes limited. It only allows you to use a couple pre-installed applications
1:10
And even majority of the Samsung applications will be turned off in this mode
1:15
So if you want to, maybe you downloaded some kind of application and it's causing you massive problems, you could boot it into this mode
1:22
Get rid of that application, assuming you couldn't do that before. And everything should go back to functioning normally once you reboot the device once more
1:31
So here we have our safe mode. You can see it based on this marking right here and also based on the missing applications
1:40
Or maybe not missing, but greyed out. Now, widgets don't work either, as you can see
1:46
And any application that looks like this, this is our browser from Samsung
1:50
And if you try to open it up, as you can see, it gives you the pop-up. Downloaded apps disabled in safe mode
1:55
And this extends to Google applications as well. So Google TV, YouTube Music, Drive
2:01
Photos don't even work here, which is very interesting. And we have things like Bing, RAR, obviously that's a third-party application
2:09
Edge, also a third-party application. Assistant, Epic Games, those are also third-party
2:16
But interestingly, we also have applications like Calculator that are turned off in this mode
2:23
So there we go. Once you're done troubleshooting your device and you want to go back to the normal mode, just get back to your boot options
2:29
And simply select the restart option. Once the device boots back up, it automatically goes back to normal mode
2:36
So with that being said, if you found this very helpful, don't forget to hit like, subscribe, and thanks for watching
