Welcome! In front of me is a Honor 50 Lite and today I'll show you how you can
0:12
boot the device into safe mode. So to get started we will need to power off our
0:17
device by holding the power key. When it turns off hold power key and volume up
0:27
at the same time. And when you see the Honor logo on the screen let go of the
0:34
power key but keep holding volume up. There we go there is the Honor logo. Let go of power key. And once the Honor logo
0:50
disappears you can also let go of the volume up. Give it a couple seconds and it will boot into recovery mode where we will
1:04
find our safe mode option. Okay there we go. So it's now opened up. So from here
1:13
simply tap on safe mode and this will now initiate a reboot into safe mode. Now
1:19
when it's rebooting I'm gonna quickly describe what this mode is for because
1:22
Huawei, I mean Honor, decided to give you zero insight on that manner. So anyway
1:30
safe mode is used to troubleshoot your device so if you have some kind of
1:34
problems with your phone if it's malfunctioning on a software level as an
1:38
example your apps are crashing or your battery is being consumed too quickly or
1:43
I don't know maybe you're getting some kind of ads on your home screen where
1:48
you shouldn't be getting them you can boot your device into safe mode and see
1:52
if the problem persists. Obviously it should not. And in safe mode only the
1:57
pre-installed applications will function. Anything else that you have installed yourself or basically installed itself maliciously on your device will be
2:07
terminated and will not be able to start up in any kind of way. And we can quickly
2:12
see if we have any of applications that will not start but it looks like
2:16
everything here will run just fine which is a little bit disconcerting. So
2:24
there are some things that I feel like shouldn't run like for instance tips
2:30
email from from Honor. What else we got here? Compass, device clone and stuff like
2:38
that. Those things technically I don't think should be running in here but
2:43
apparently Honor decided to let them be part of like the default apps. But
2:50
anything else that you have installed yourself should not be able to turn on
2:55
And the way you can differentiate the apps that will run and which one will
3:00
not as the apps that are not allowed to run right now will be monochrome. So
3:06
there will be like this semi-transparent grayish color and when you try to
3:09
actually open them up it will just give you a pop-up that this app cannot run in safe mode. So there we go. And once you're done with safe mode to leave it
3:18
all you need to do is hold your power key again but this time around you're gonna select a restart. So click on that. This will initiate a reboot and once the
3:28
device is back up it will be back in a normal mode. And as you can see we are
3:37
now back in normal mode. So if you found this very helpful don't forget to hit
3:42
like, subscribe, and thanks for watching
