Welcome. Infoammy, I have the both Google Pixel 7s, and today I'll go over just a comparison between these two phones
0:12
So, this obviously is the 7 Pro, this one is the 7
0:17
And I'll begin by just mentioning I'm not really going to go over the software side of the phones just because they are identical
0:27
they literally running the same kind of Google version with the same kind of benefits of, well, having stock Android on a pixel
0:37
Obviously, stock Android on a pixel isn't as stock as it is on some other devices
0:42
We do have couple benefits here, like having basically the newest Android
0:47
that always come out. So right now most of the phones are running still Android 12
0:52
These are, I believe, running Android 13 already, right? and it might be just a moment before other phones even like the newest flagships for instance like the fold four will get um android 13 now additionally uh because like i said
1:09
the stock android on pixels is not necessarily the most stock thing it does have a bunch of additional features that you don't actually have on other phones
1:18
and some of those would be things like for instance uh voice comments that you can give your phone at any moment
1:24
you don't need to say something like, hey Google or whatever. It's just, for instance, someone calls you, tell it to pick up
1:29
and it does pick up the phone even though you're far away from the phone. Another thing that is really useful is, for instance, the auto chazem, what I would consider
1:39
It automatically listens to environment, and if it hears a song, it detects that song tells you the artist's name and the name of the song on your lock screen
1:48
which is really nice thing to have. I personally really like this
1:52
So, like I said, a bunch of the things. are on pixel phones that you won't see on any other ones but both of the
2:02
pixels have the same software so both of them have the same features so none of
2:07
them have anything like more over the other the only thing more that you will get
2:12
is in terms of cameras but that is due to hardware and I'll mention the cameras
2:18
a little bit more in-depth later on because they will be what I would consider a
2:22
massive point of the decision you'll be making right here so let's start off with the price tag i'm going to consider
2:32
that both of the phones are at its very lowest price point meaning uh 128 gig storage both of them
2:39
with 8 gigs of ram so in this case they're exactly identical running the same processor same
2:44
storage same ram now this one would come at 599 in this case at the lowest model while the 7 pro
2:54
would come at 899. So you get a hefty $300 price pump
3:00
Now, the question is, do you actually get $300 worth of hardware upgrade
3:05
And I'm not going to stretch this out. I'm going to say it right now. No, you don't
3:09
At least, in my opinion, you do not. Now, to certain people, this might be arguable
3:15
because one of the major things that you get in that $300 price bump is the camera
3:24
So honestly I'm going to actually do it right now. So let's flip it over and see the cameras
3:35
So you can see massive difference right here with addition of this thing right here
3:40
This is a 48 megapixel telephoto lens. Now if you're not versed in what the lenses do
3:48
telephoto is just a kind of like a periscope lens that allows you to zoom in
3:52
really close to something from far away. So, for instance, you might be using just a normal white sensor
3:58
to capture someone at a couple meter distance or a couple feet distance
4:04
And it will look obviously good, normal, as every photo does. But you could be standing, I don't know, 50 meters away
4:11
and capture basically the same exact picture using the telephoto lens and zooming in
4:19
And the photos will look almost identical just because both of them are running at relatively similar pixels
4:25
So the white one is 50, the telephoto is 48, so not much of a difference here
4:31
Now this, the 7, the default 7, does not have the telephoto lens
4:36
Both of the cameras right here, that you can see, are exactly the same
4:40
They're literally identical. So we have a 50 megapixel white sensor and 12 megapixel ultra-wide
4:47
Both of them have the same kind of aperture and stuff like that
4:51
so they are the exact same sensors in both phones. But you lose that telephoto lens
4:58
which allows you to capture, like I said, pictures of object, people, subjects, whatever
5:04
at further distances by still keeping them pretty big and detailed. Obviously, all the phones, even like something like this
5:12
overpriced hunko junk, will have... Let me just quickly open up camera
5:16
So even right here, I do have a zooming option, right? So I can zoom to six times
5:28
No, I don't have a telephoto lens. So this is a, it takes the, just a wide sensor and just zooms it in
5:36
And that's basically all I get. Well, here you don't zoom in on the photo. This photo is already already capturing significantly closer
5:46
close-up so by default it's closer and when it's trying to get even closer to
5:51
something it doesn't zoom in it just varies the difference between the mirrors
5:56
and the lens because the way this is designed the camera itself as the
6:01
sensor is not facing out like these ones are it's actually positioned sideways
6:07
and reflects off of a mirror outwards and it can be moved back and forth to
6:13
to basically change the the zoom level. So you get always a pretty nice clear image
6:23
Now, like I mentioned, this is the only difference in terms of cameras and it's the probably main defining point of these two phones
6:32
that will define if you want to get the pro or the non-pro. I'm not really going to tell you which one to get
6:39
I'm going to just go over the differences and the reasons why I don't
6:43
think the price bump-up is worth but obviously if you planning to use this sensor often
6:51
maybe you just tend to capture photos from far away quite often then obviously for you this
6:58
would be a well worth of an upgrade and that's completely understandable there's there's nothing
7:04
bad with it in both cases I believe these phones are pretty well-priced in general but
7:11
if we consider just these two together and the price difference right here this one is a clear winner
7:17
at least in my opinion obviously if you're planning to use that like i said the camera
7:22
then this one might be better for you it's still well well priced comparing to other flagships
7:29
it still nicely you know below the a thousand dollar mark right here at least for the default one So if you comparing it to other flagships the price is really good
7:41
If you're comparing it between just these two, it's a little bit too high. Or we could argue that this one is just too cheap
7:48
but it's from the same company, so, you know, whatever. Anyway, let's move on
7:55
So I'm going to now touch upon the display. so I did mention before that we have a bigger screen right here
8:02
which is obvious thing that you can see right away but what you might not see is the difference in brightness
8:07
now by default the brightness difference right here would be supposedly is only about 100 minutes
8:17
difference technically by default in just environment like this they both should be as bright just the same brightness
8:27
but if I max out the brightness on both of them, you'll probably see right away that this one seems just a little bit brighter
8:38
Not by much, but it seems brighter, in my opinion. And I don't have any kind of tools to check exactly
8:45
if the actual white background right here is brighter than this background right here
8:52
The reason why I'm kind of circling these areas is because the notifications areas are the brighter points
8:59
This is more kind of like pinkish color. This one, I guess just different ones
9:04
But they have different hues. And if I lower the brightness, you will be able to see this. So you can see now that we do have an outline right here
9:13
So this is purely white. Well, here we have like this pinkish color
9:17
And same goes for notifications right here. So brightness level, I believe it's brighter
9:24
just by default, even though both of them advertised a thousand nits
9:29
they do peak at 1,400 nits, 1,500 nits. So just a 100 nits brightness increase
9:38
And this brightness will only be visible, I don't even think it's going to be visible
9:43
but it's only going to affect when you go outside. This is the peak brightness
9:47
as bright as the device can get, and usually that happens only when you go outside
9:51
for a limited amount of time, when you get it like blasted by just direct sunlight
9:55
the phone just cranks up the brightness so you can actually see the display clearly
10:00
but it sustains that max brightness for a short duration. Afterwards, it just drops it back down
10:05
and you get whatever the reasonable brightness it considers. I am guessing that this is done
10:11
so you don't have burn-ins in your Amulet display, but this is just a guess
10:17
So I could be wrong. But the main factor here is this one technically on paper is brighter
10:24
and physically in terms of the 1,000 brightness it seems also brighter
10:30
when you do it manually so that's that now additional things is the increase in a resolution
10:37
which is probably done because the screen is bigger so this one is running at 1080p resolution
10:42
this has a 1440p resolution now because of this bump up in resolution
10:47
we're looking at different pixels per inch so quite a hefty bump in pixels per inch
10:52
being at 416 right here. So if you take an inch by inch square
10:57
you will have a count of 416 pixels in that area. But the same on this phone would equates to 512 pixels per inch
11:09
So nearly 100 pixels more in a single inch by inch square
11:16
And even though this seems impressive, considering this is a... quite a significant bump up you won't see this almost at all i cannot tell the difference between
11:27
the resolution of these two phones just because the display right here is also smaller and
11:33
1080p resolution right now is basically like the sweet spot you don't need a higher resolution on your
11:38
phone than 1080p this is already a pretty freaking decent resolution for especially a phone
11:46
so like i said not not a defining factor resolution right here uh even
11:52
on the lower end, which is a 1080p, is already pretty good. The only difference in actuality that you will see is probably battery life
12:01
because a higher resolution will require more from the processor, and that will mean that your processor needs to work harder
12:09
and consume more energy to push this screen. And additional difference in the screen is in refresh rate
12:16
So the 7 runs at 90 hertz, while the 7 Pro runs at 120
12:22
Now this is one of those things that Google did deliberately, I'm pretty sure, just because there is no reason for this phone to cost $600 and have a 90 hertz refresh rate
12:35
This should be running at 120, but if you would keep the price like you should and put the screen that you should, then this would make this phone even less enticing
12:46
It's already overpriced over the non-pro version of it, so including 100
12:52
120 hertz refresh rate would just completely make this one a joke
12:57
And it would be even more blatant cash grab that it's already marketed as when you compare it to this one
13:05
Now, you get only a 30 hertz refresh rate, so a bump up
13:13
Not that significant, but some people might still consider this to be a, just kind of a hindrance in a way
13:20
I personally I like to see 120 though I don't know if I would be using it
13:28
just because running the display at 60 gives me better battery life and that's
13:32
what I primarily care about so kind of stupid kind of trade-off
13:38
having a higher refresh rate but having to pay it with your battery so
13:43
like I said it's for some people the 90 will be a good
13:48
middle ground so you can run in the higher refresh rate and still have decent battery life. Or you can also change it to 60
13:54
And in this case, if you plan to run your phone at 60 Hz, then you truly don't care what either phone refresh rates at
14:03
And in this case, it literally just kind of literally blurs the differences
14:08
between these phones and price range. So now that we get the actual display out of the way
14:16
I'm going to touch upon just a couple differences which also have versions to them
14:22
So storage, like I started at the beginning, I'm just talking about the default storages right here
14:28
which is 128. But I will mention that both of these phones have different storages
14:33
and I'm going to also mention the price bumps of them. So the non-pro version, small one
14:42
starts with 128 gig storage at 599, and then you can get double storage, 256
14:49
at 699. For $100, increase of 128 gigs is absolutely effing stupid
14:56
That is way too much for such a minute increase of storage
15:00
256 I would argue should be the default storage right here and probably the only storage in this case for this one And it should be starting at in this case at 5 or maybe 699 and remove the other one I be fine
15:15
But seeing the increase of storage, 128 gigs of storage more for $100 is just an insult
15:25
And just to kind of also clarify this, you can get an SD card
15:30
which you won't be able to use in here for obvious reasons because they want you to spend more
15:34
you could get an SD card of 128 gigs for $25. Now let that sink in
15:42
They're charging you quadriple the price of the same storage that is just baked into here that you cannot upgrade
15:47
and remove the possibility of you to do it yourself by putting a SIM or SD card in here
15:54
If that isn't a middle finger to you, then I don't know what it is. Now at this point, most of the flagships do this
16:01
but it's still a middle finger. from every manufacturer nonetheless. Now, when we go to ProVersion, we have a little bit more options
16:10
So we have the $128 at $300 more, which is $899, 256, which is at $9.89, again, a $100 increase
16:19
which is, again, effing stupid. Where it does start to make sense is when it's doubled again, so from $256 to $512
16:27
So you're getting the 256 gigabyte additional storage for, again, $100. So now it's just double the price of an actual 256 storage
16:40
So, yeah. And that would make the device with 512 gigs of storage at priced at $1,099
16:48
Now, this would probably be the closest price of a flagship comparison with more storage
16:53
So that's a thousand bucks is usually what you get from an actual flagship, for instance, like Samsung
17:00
Though actually that's not even correct anymore considering Samsung now. to go completely bunkers and release the S-20, for instance, two ultras are like, what, $1,200 with base storage
17:13
So, and you can obviously go higher, which again, manufacture, or companies like Samsung just showing you a middle finger even more
17:22
And I was interested in this and I did check, for instance, price inflations and just, you know, comparing the price
17:34
increase and actual prices that we have right now, compared to inflated prices as they should be now
17:44
And the same phone that used to cost, for instance, $300, now it should be coming at like $700
17:51
which would be very adequate for these two phones, being priced correctly for price inflation
17:56
and, for instance, how phones used to cost in like 2003, as an example
18:01
and the crank up end price based on inflation. And $1,800-effing dollars for a phone
18:10
is not even in the same effing ballpark of price inflation. That's just a greedy company
18:19
Even the $1,200 is already a blatant, a blatant just cash grab
18:24
It's literally robbing people. For a phone that comes with ads in their store
18:29
with phone that comes with limited, support with phone that is locked away and it's technically not yours because companies want
18:37
you to rent it. So F Samsung, basically what I'm saying. In terms of Google, I think it's a
18:45
little bit more open but it's still Google and obviously nothing is private here. It's Android
18:49
after all. Now I mentioned the prices and differences. I'm probably starting to get the
18:58
just of the differences right here. So the last thing that I'll mention
19:03
is the battery size and charging speeds. So the 6... Google Pixel 7
19:09
has a charging speed of wire and wireless at 20 watts. They're calling it fast charging
19:18
which is, I think, nowadays, just a marketing gimmick. I understand that
19:25
half a decade ago, or maybe even closer to like a decade ago, 20 watts would have been fast charging
19:32
but nowadays when you have phones from Xiaomi that charge at 120 effing watts
19:36
and then you have this that charges at 20 and both of them are called fast charging
19:43
there is a massive discrepancy in a speed that you charge your phone at
19:47
one can charge your phone to full in a matter of 12 minutes while the other one charges it into 50% in 30 minutes
19:56
so I cannot I cannot claim that this is fast charging this is just outdated
20:04
naming scheme that allows them to just call it fast charging still
20:09
while it's not not anymore not even close now the 20 watt wireless and wired charging
20:17
kind of begs the question why would you need one or the other obviously
20:21
if you can wirelessly charge your phone at the same speed as wired, why is wired so effing gimped
20:31
Usually you have trade-offs. So you can wirelessly charge it relatively okayishly, fast maybe, or more moderately
20:40
While wired would give you this instant juice, basically, allowing you to charge your phone
20:46
quickly and reliably. Here you're charging it both at the same speeds
20:52
Kind of making one useless. If you have a wireless charger, you don't need a freaking port on this
20:56
here because it literally becomes useless and same thing goes for this one so this one
21:02
decides to just increase the the charging speed of both wired and wireless to think
21:08
ding ding ding 23 watts we get whopping 3 watts more for wireless and wired charging
21:16
like are you serious 300 dollars more get you 3 watts charging
21:23
I am baffled by this to be honest So, with that being said, this has a 5,000 million-power battery
21:31
This one has a 4,355 million-power battery. So, 645 watts less. Now, it's hard to recommend this phone if you don't care for the cameras
21:48
Just because paying $300 more for exactly the same phone is just an insult
21:56
So I'm going to now do an easy kind of side by side of what's the difference only
22:08
High resolution, which isn't necessarily the most positive thing, at least in my opinion
22:13
because 1440p you don't get to see, and it consumes more battery. High refresh rate by only 30 watts
22:20
It's an upgrade nonetheless. Additional camera at the back. Most significant upgrade
22:28
This one, like I mentioned at the start, will be the defining factor of which one you pick
22:33
And if you want to capture photos from far away then there is no competition for you This is the way to go Additionally bigger battery life and 3 watt more of wireless and wired charging and just a bigger device slash display and that it Now if we
22:58
just take the usability of this camera the telephoto which allows you to capture photos from
23:04
far away you get massively inflated price of a phone that you don't get to that
23:14
that that that it's that isn't worth it even with this camera I don't think
23:19
price bump of of three hundred dollars is worth just a single camera because I'll
23:26
be completely honest I'm pretty sure it would have been more cost-effective for
23:32
Google if for instance they utilized the same display the same wireless charging
23:37
because now they need to manufacture two different ones and service and repair
23:45
produce two different wireless charging speeds or maybe they're just limited but
23:50
in this case they both cost them the same but in this case anyway we have two
23:56
different kind of specs that are like almost not different any kind of way
24:02
so would have been more cost effective if they included the same one and give you for instance a 23 watts charging right here wired and wireless
24:12
but if they went the cost effective way for themselves this phone would be most significantly worth
24:22
not worth but be a better alternative over this one because at that point the only difference there would have been the size of the screen and the camera and 300 dollars
24:32
for already the differences that they already have is egregious. If we even out some of the things that would have been more cost effective
24:42
and probably more friendly to our environment, then, well, this one just kind of falls off even further from this one
24:52
Now, with that being said, there is one massive thing that I've been kind of just not mentioning
25:02
I've been comparing these phones to each other and the price difference between each other is egregious
25:11
I don't think it's worth it but if for instance pixel didn't make 7
25:17
and you have just the 7 pro with the specs that it has right now
25:24
and let's just take another phone that is a flagship let's even say that this is coming at the same price right
25:34
So this is a phone that costs double, literally double. If we compare these two phones
25:41
now the price here starts to be much, much more competitive. So for a phone that gives you outstanding camera
25:52
because this is pixel, it's one of their main key selling points
25:58
camera quality and photos. You're getting an outstanding phone. photo quality. You get really decent display, high refresh rate, high resolution, charging
26:08
as shit, I'm not going to sugarcoat it. But you get a bunch of the features like under display
26:14
fingerprint sensor, wireless charging, telephoto camera, and obviously, probably one of the better parts
26:21
is a stock Android, which comes with no리ware whatsoever and only includes things that Google
26:30
themselves decided to implement into their phone to make it even better as an Android
26:35
which possibly could show up on other phones for instance like this, later on down the line
26:40
though it's not guaranteed. Then this phone becomes a much different kind of argument right here
26:48
It fits, well, it technically goes below the price of other flagships, even if we take
26:55
something like a Galaxy S-22 Ultra or just even, even, a normal one, and it undercuts the price while arguably performing probably better
27:09
And in this case, this is the clear winner. If we add again our 7, these phones are weirdly priced between each other
27:22
If this one would have been more expensive as an example, then it would be a better argument
27:28
which one might be worth a little bit more or if this one was cheaper but like I said the pro already under Cod's competition and
27:37
this one if not for the camera as a better choice value for money
27:44
so like I'm saying they're just weirdly priced only between each other
27:51
when you remove one of them out of the picture and just consider that only one exists
27:56
and compared to anything other on the market then that phone probably becomes the winner
28:01
If we remove the pro, same thing goes for this one. It's a powerful device at $600, really good camera set up
28:08
really good display, software and all that stuff. Not as good as this one, but if we remove it
28:14
then we only losing probably the typical 120 hertz refresh rate from other phones that would be at this price range
28:21
while you get additions from Google that no other phone has at this price range
28:26
so like i started at the beginning uh there the choice right here will differ from person to person
28:39
because one of the biggest things that makes either phone valuable is the i would probably argue
28:46
the camera and if you get the if you care about the all the telephoto camera right here then you don't
28:53
have a choice this is obviously the clear winner for you If you don't, then this will probably be the clear winner for you
29:01
And if you don't really know if you need it or not, probably again this one
29:05
Because if you tend to take casually photos from time to time, you won't probably utilize the telephoto as much
29:14
And arguably it will be money kind of wasted, the $300 extra dollars for a camera that you barely use
29:21
Might be nice to have it. And obviously at that point it's your decision if
29:26
for you the comfort of having the camera when you might need it and having it is worth that
29:34
extra $300. So with that being said, this was a kind of a long rent and I tried to go as
29:44
in-depth and explain every part of it as I possibly could. So hopefully I explained this
29:51
well enough for everybody to understand. Not sorry. But yeah, hopefully, who forever actually stayed for this long
