Welcome
0:07
I'm from here. The Simpson Galaxy M11 and today I'll show you unboxing along with a brief overview of the device
0:14
So obviously this is the back that comes in, let's pop it open
0:18
Nothing in here as you can see, so straight to the side
0:24
Nothing in here as well, straight to the side. Then we get the phone itself
0:29
itself, so take it out and set it to the side for now
0:35
And then we got the headphones in here, just a typical really crappy looking buds
0:40
Charging cable in here along with a same ejector right at the bottom there
0:44
and a 15 watt charger. So this is probably the more important thing that I should show
0:50
There we go, there's the wattage, 15 watts max. Hopefully it is visible on the camera, although I wouldn't expect much from here
0:58
But yeah, a 15 watt charger, kind of a big brick, considering it's only 15
1:03
I'm pretty sure they make the US ones, at least, because this isn't a US, I believe
1:10
are basically half the size and come with 21 watts most of the time
1:15
Still low, but better than this. So apart from these three accessories in here, there is nothing else in here
1:22
So drop it to the side, and then get the phone in front here
1:25
Now, I already did go to the setup of it. so I don't have to do that right now
1:30
And unlocking it, we are presented with the 6.4 inch 720 by 1560 display
1:36
That is a PLS TFT panel, so no super Amelette display. And as you can see right now, this is maxed out, and it isn't getting very bright
1:49
I would say 81.6% screen to body ratio with a 268 pixels per inch
1:55
as because the resolution is necessarily the greatest. But at least for me, looking at it from about a foot away right now throughout the recording
2:04
it looks fairly sharp. I might not have the 2020 vision, so my opinion right here might not be the best
2:13
but personally, I don't really care that much for super sharp resolutions
2:19
Let's push the boundaries. And at least in this case, from this distance like I'm looking
2:23
It looks sharp, it doesn't look blurry or anything, and yeah, it's basically fine
2:29
What isn't fine is the max brightness of this display, which is just as bright as I was in fifth grade
2:38
So if you take this outside, it's going to be basically turned off display
2:44
I'm pretty sure you won't be able to see anything on that screen in direct sunlight
2:50
Right now, I have just a single spotlight right here. this little thing as you can see right here
2:56
And this thing is blasting this display to the point that it kind of looks washed out and a little bit faded
3:03
And it is right now maxed out. So, yeah, I'm not expecting much from this display, honestly
3:10
And then finishing off with the display, it has a glass, along with a glass protection on it that I have applied
3:18
because it seems like it has no rating of gorilla or anything
3:23
so this probably will be really brittle. But that's the only glass you have on this device
3:29
Rest of the build quality is made straight from plastic. So straight up China
3:36
Now, moving on to the camera that is housed under the, or in the cutout, the display
3:43
It's an 8 megapixel white sensor that shoots at 1080p 30 frames
3:47
And I do have a tiny little prop right here. There we go, that I will use the cameras for
3:51
at least the back ones. The front one, I guess I'm just going to use
3:55
my face and see how that comes out. So yeah, front probably fairly underwhelming display
4:05
not display but camera. Now I'm locking it and moving to the back
4:09
We can clearly see a triple camera setup. So we have a 13 megapixel wide
4:15
5 megapixel ultra wide, and 2 megapixel depth Now I assume the 2 megapixel depth sensor is basically as useful as this well probably review So probably if you cover that two megapixel sensor and take photos it
4:35
most likely will not change anything in terms of quality. Usually I've seen multiple brands
4:42
do this in 2020 were they at least one or two sensors that
4:48
are completely useless to their devices so those are the two megapixel depth which we have one here
4:54
and also one of those is a two megapixel macro which is also complete another garbage in most
4:59
circumstances now here we don't have the macro we just have a useless depth sensor which most likely
5:05
will not make any difference and also as you can see there is a fingerprint sensor right right here that
5:11
tiny little circle so yeah now flipping about over we can now launch the camera maybe
5:18
hopefully the low battery won't be giving us much problem with it
5:23
So let's take it out, move this straight up here and see how that comes out now
5:30
Keep in mind that this is going to be a fairly rough test right here
5:34
Not very... it's going to be a little bit too close probably so the
5:39
whatever is closer to the sensor will probably come on blurry. That super loud sound..
5:47
I can't deal with this, so let me just quickly mute this
5:53
There we go, so I don't actually have to hear the deafening shutter sound
5:58
There we go. So this is just the normal 13 megapixel sensor
6:05
Now let's see what else we got. Looks like we've got nothing else, honestly
6:10
We also have the ultra wide right here. So as you can see it does do this kind of like fish eye where
6:17
the screen on the back you can see that it's kind of like bending basically
6:20
If you can see it... Let's see... so we can clearly see it like the band right over here with the line
6:32
It should be straight but as you can see it's not. Now this isn't very desirable in ultra wide
6:37
And honestly I think this is the first time I see something as drastic as this
6:42
So I just capture it. Now these are... probably gonna be super underwhelming, primarily because of the conditions, that's number one
6:52
and number two, because these sensors are completely not a garbage it looks like
6:57
So clearly there is no, not much detail in here, as you can see
7:05
So this was the ultra wide, I believe. Nope, not the ultra wide. So let's move to the normal one, the 30 megapixel, and this came out even worse
7:14
I'm not sure how that is possible. Now let me quickly try once more
7:19
from a little bit further distance and maybe not a wide angle
7:28
There we go. I think this should come out a little bit better. Okay, yeah, this is way better than the previous shot
7:37
So once my hand stopped twitching, I can actually capture a decent photo here. But clearly you can see this is
7:44
not pushing any boundaries with this sensors right here and these are just for like
7:49
when you're drunk and you need to snap a photo of something funny probably
7:53
you're gonna whip out this phone because you won't be too sad if you lose it while you wasted it so yeah cameras are fairly underwhelming I would have to say and
8:03
most likely with the direct sunlight and HDR functionalities I'm not expecting
8:08
basically anything special here I basically would probably that it's going to fail at capturing anything under light
8:18
Basically when you're capturing with a, for instance, sun behind the subject that you're trying to capture
8:25
I expect that it's just going to look, well, like phone straight at all
8:30
2014. So, yeah. Now we already went from the, for the back photos
8:40
Actually let me do one more thing the depth sensor So I gonna quickly figure out which one has a depth sensor which I believe it the last one I going to quickly cover it up as you can see And let switch it Okay so it looks like the depth sensor is the middle one actually
9:00
You quickly wipe the sensors again and try to figure out how in the world am I going to cover
9:07
that up. Maybe it's the last one. Let me quickly. Oh, nope, it actually looks like it's the first one, this one
9:16
So I'm going to be holding that up, covering it up. And let's see
9:21
Actually, first, again, I'm going to wipe it. So without actually moving this
9:28
let's try to set it as far behind as I can. So
9:34
let me try to make as best photo comparisons like, can so first shot uncovered as you can see my finger right of not covering anything
9:46
I'm gonna cover it up and without actually moving my finger flip it over and
9:55
you can see that I am covering the sensor right here so it closed but whatever so
10:03
this is the covered version let's see it looks all right it's the uncovered
10:09
it looks the same. So like I said, useless sensor. Maybe it's going to be
10:21
using something else but honestly in normal photos there is no difference as you
10:25
can clearly see right here. Now moving to the front one, let's flip it over and
10:30
see my smug here face. You can flip over. There we go. So
10:39
Let me quickly grab this phone and... Ooh, that is bad. So obviously you can..
10:46
I haven't seen such a lag on a phone since a while
10:56
Cheesh, this is... this is terrible. That is some next level terrible photos here
11:09
you can clearly see there is no detail. It's grainy even though it has a light right here
11:16
My face is fairly decently lit up as you can see on the photo and it just..
11:23
That is terrible. So yeah I'm just gonna move out of this one
11:31
Also the processor is not doing this camera any justice by making it look like it's a slideshow
11:37
So yeah I just don't want to look at this one. yeah I just don't want to look at that front selfie ever again so yeah so moving on to
11:45
well the last part which would be the specifications of the device it comes with a
11:49
snapdragon 450 so super budget and also it has two versions of it so you can have a 32
11:57
gigabyte memory with 3 gig bytes of RAM or 64 gig memory with 4 gigabyte RAM now personally
12:05
I would most likely recommend you to go for the 4 gigabyte RAM considering RAM is something that you will not be able to increase while memory let's see
12:14
if we can I believe I did read that there is expendable storage via SD but we better check it
12:21
I know we sure can so we can still expand it past the 64 gigs or 32 but what you
12:30
won't be able to expand as the RAM which with 3 gigabytes of RAM and 2020 this phone
12:37
won't be running very smoothly. So like I said, highly recommend you if you're planning to buy
12:42
this phone to go for the 4 gigabyte RAM instead of the 3. It's going to nivalate some lags
12:49
and just overall like slow performance of this device a little bit past the budget Snapdragon right
12:58
here And the redeeming quality of this device in my opinion is the super hefty chunky 5 mllum power battery right here that comes in it Sadly it going to be charging at fast charging speeds of 15 watts
13:16
So that will be probably half a night of charging before it reaches full from basically dead
13:22
Now I'm just kind of putting that better estimate straight out of thin air
13:27
so don't take me on it. But considering it's 50 watts charging and 15, not 50
13:32
and a 5,000 million power battery, that's a huge battery and fairly slow charging speed of it
13:40
Yeah, like I said, I'm expecting that this is going to take a while to charge this device
13:45
You won't be getting any kind of super VUK out of that one. And another redeeming quality probably of this device would be the price tag
13:53
which comes at $100 and about $40. This is catering to the budget devices, but
14:01
honestly if you're not reliant for instance on the Play Store Huawei made phones that are basically running as good as this one
14:13
with I believe better cameras actually at a cheaper price tag of $100 instead of the 140
14:21
so if you're looking for a super budget device and you're not really there for the Play Store and the Play service
14:31
this is, I guess I would recommend you to check out the Huawei version of it. It also came
14:38
out in 2020. It's just going to be cheaper and lacking some Play Store services or some
14:46
all of them basically. And other than that it would be very similar to this device. Now I'll
14:53
also mention this phone. It doesn't come with NFC so you won't be able to use it to pay for
15:01
for stuff in store. You want to be able to use it as a card, basically
15:05
Which, honestly, in 2020, I am so used to paying with my phone
15:10
that this is a feature that I don't see any phone not having
15:14
The phone that doesn't have an FC, in my opinion, is not worth it almost
15:19
especially when it comes down, comes at $140. If it would have been $100, 100, for instance
15:26
which this price would have been then more justified, then sure, but 140 that 40
15:31
I would rather see an NFC sensor than for instance 5 megapixel or 2 megapixel depth sensor that is completely
15:38
useless so yeah and honestly it seems a little bit overpriced for how it actually functions
15:45
now also finishing it off with some info it does come with one UI so you're getting the
15:53
basically Samsung's one UI which is actually fairly nice I would have to say and also at
16:01
comes on Android 10 so that is also a fairly good positive right here but that's about where it ends so
16:09
finishing it off now completely for the price that it comes in I wouldn't say that it's a worth
16:15
purchasing device I would probably prefer to get either something a little bit more expensive or
16:22
cheaper depending with both of those cases if you go more expensive you're going to get way more
16:27
usability out of that with more features and if you go cheaper you're going to
16:31
basically going to get almost the same kind of power but as an example you're
16:37
going to be lacking the Play Store although I'm pretty sure there was like Apple I think that also made super budget devices at a hundred dollars and that come
16:46
with play services so just if you're if you're okay with some kind of like Chinese
16:50
phones then I highly recommend checking out other brands and their budget
16:56
options and if you're willing to spend a little bit more then also
17:01
so I'll look for something a little bit higher priced. Even Samsung, I believe, in the higher priced phones for like 200 and something
17:09
will be worth, well, will be better spend money rather than on this thing
17:15
So, yeah. So if you found this very helpful, don't forget to hit like, subscribe and thanks for watching
