Welcome
0:07
In front of me is a Poco X3 Pro, and today I'll go of unboxing along with a quick overview of this phone
0:14
Now this would have been a normal unboxing, but I already did open it up and then decided to spill my little plant all over the table
0:22
So, the plenty decided to take a happy little accident and now it's already cut
0:28
So, rip, first time unboxing, I guess. But anyway, once you open it up, you should see this
0:36
And basically whatever you see right here, I'm seeing for the first time too. So, yeah
0:42
Welcome to the Paco family. Cool. Just a little cardboard, cut out, whatever
0:49
Then we got paperwork stickers. That's actually a... That's nice. some booklet that we don't really care about so eat out of the screen
1:03
We got the casing, that's always nice to see, and it looks like a fairly decent screen protector
1:10
I'm gonna set it to the side for now and let's get rid of that as well
1:16
Obviously you can see the phone right here with some specifications which I'm gonna touch upon after this
1:23
so once I actually get through the box. So then we got another cardboard cutout and we got charger
1:30
Wow, I should give them props. They included a charger. So yeah, a cable, it's type A to type C as you can see right here
1:40
And then the charger, if I remember correctly, is a 33 watt charger
1:47
but I'm going to quickly check just to make sure. So, yep
1:55
Yep, max 33 watts. Hopefully you can barely see it, maybe here
2:00
But yeah, 33 watts charger, so number one, nice that they included a charger
2:04
and number two, even better that they included a decent charger. So yeah, let's set up to the side
2:11
Also, like this, and we need to decide. So here we get the phone itself
2:17
Let's quickly pop it out. That's a nice design. I really like this
2:27
Well, let's power it on. There we go. So, starting off with the screen, which you can already see
2:37
this is a 6.67 inch display with a 1080p by 2400 resolution
2:43
It's nothing really special in terms of the display that is here just an iPS LCD
2:48
it's HDR 10 plus certified so that is actually a nice thing although I'm not exactly sure
2:54
because apparently it has 12, oh not 400, uh 450 knit peak brightness so I don't think
3:01
that really classifies as a HDR 10 plus but yeah so let's go through this
3:13
I'm going to try to skip through most of this just so I can finish it up quickly
3:18
And there we go
3:29
So going further, it's 120 Hertz display, which is really nice. Has an 84.6% screen-to-body ratio that's mediocre, I would say, at the year right now
3:43
395 pixels per inch, just a typical, I would say, for 1080p display
3:48
And also the glass in front is a gorilla glass 6. I believe the best one is Victus, which is the one after it is 6
3:56
So while it's loading up, let's touch upon the cameras at the back. So as you can see, we have a quadruple camera setup
4:03
And this is fairly nicely designed, I'll say, housing right here. It looks kind of neat, just personal opinion here
4:10
But yeah, the main sensor is a 48 megapixel wide. Then we got an 8 megapixel ultra-wide and then we got two trash sensors
4:17
So we got 2 megapixel macro and 2 megapixel depth sensors. So yeah, just kind of forget that those exist and never use them, would be my advice
4:28
Now when it comes on to video quality, it shoots at 4K 30 frames
4:32
If you drop it to 1080p, you can shoot at 30, 60 and slow motion at 120
4:36
Or assuming this is a slow motion, it might be incorrect. I'm going to check it out
4:40
and also 720 p at 960 frames. Now that is most certainly a slow motion
4:46
And oh look at that it's already set up. Let me max out the brightness so as you can see the
4:52
display doesn't get that bright. Not that. So right now by default it looks like it is not at 120
5:06
hertz. Yep, that's most certainly not 120. So let's change it straight away to refresh rate
5:15
60 yep now we go 120 So now everything looks buttery smooth Okay so let go into the cameras right now which once I find the actual camera application I guess this is it
5:32
As you can see, the skin over it is fairly heavy. Like a lot of the icons look a little bit wonky to me
5:42
The things that are still the same as things like Chrome messages, dialer, but then majority
5:48
of the other things, like the settings look really outdated, like straight out of Android 6
5:53
while the camera looks like it's some kind of mix of Google camera lens or whatever and something
6:00
else. But yeah, so the skin here is a little bit over the top. I don't really like it that
6:08
much. But let's see the cameras anyway. So I'm going to get my plant. Hopefully this time I won't
6:13
spill its guts everywhere. And... So this is the normal shot, then we've got a two times zoom, ultra wide
6:33
And let's also get into the portrait because that is the sensor that we'll be using the depth sensor and also probably ruining the shot
6:44
So let's check it out if that is the case. Okay, so let's move that safely to the side
6:59
There we go. So the first shot that you're seeing is the portrait one and let's..
7:05
Oh, that is terrible. So why is the screen making like weird noise
7:12
So that is that is atrocious. I have no words for this
7:16
this is this is atrocious so these are pine or cactus needles which are most
7:25
certainly thicker than a human hair so if you can imagine that this would be your
7:31
head and these needles or your hair that's kind of how you look imagine that is
7:37
the face so anything that is outside of the the whatever you want to call this the
7:42
radius right here just gets completely blurred into oblivion and yeah that that is that is
7:49
unusable I would say so highly discourage you from using portrait mode because it just
7:56
destroys the photo and makes it it just trash there's no other way of calling it
8:02
but we also have a couple other ones and we do actually have
8:06
let's see we can change the focal point so hopefully this can
8:10
fix it hey look at that we actually can fix it so there we go
8:16
That is how it's supposed to look like. So I take it back
8:20
The portrait mode is usable, I guess, if you want to fiddle around with the actual blur amount
8:26
which probably you would want to set it to zero, which also begs to differ why the portrait mode is being used than at all
8:34
But as you can see right now, this is how it's supposed to look like, and this is a okay-looking shot
8:40
I can't complain about this one. So let's go to next one, which we're back into the other
8:46
one I just made another one so let's go next there we go there is the portrait
8:50
one or not portrait what am I saying this is the ultra wide that's what I meant
8:54
to say so it's okay it's a little bit grainy maybe you can see it here maybe
9:03
not it does have a little bit of graininess to it distortion as well which is to
9:11
be expected honestly I don't really expect much from an 8 megapixel ultra wide
9:16
So yeah, let's go to the next one. Whoops. So this is the 48 megapixel normal shot
9:27
And you can see that this is looking... Stop! So I can see that this is looking..
9:35
I would say good. Can't really complain. Don't you dare. Don't you dare
9:39
Don't you dare. There we go. So... Okay, you can already see one little
9:45
can already see one little problem right here the software or the skin works like
9:51
trash I'm losing my patience a little bit here so yeah the skin in here is a
10:03
little bit bad but other than that you can hopefully you can get through the
10:07
photos here without me losing my cool but yeah here the normal 40 megapixel shot the
10:14
white one looks fine I can't complain about it it's detailed especially if you
10:18
look in like just this little pebble and now this pebble is right over
10:23
here I believe this is the one so you can see a lot of detail on it which is
10:27
really nice then we got ooh actually this is the two-time zoom my bad this is
10:34
the normal white shot but the result is basically the same give or take a
10:39
little bit of a blurriness right here that is just my lack of skill
10:44
rather than the camera But yeah it basically the same just zoomed out a little bit So this is the normal one how it will look like and this is the two times zoom which is equivalent of me just capturing a photo cropped in like this
10:58
So, yeah. Now, anyway, both of them look fine, I'll have to say. There is a lot of detail
11:04
But when it comes down to the last sensor, which I left for purpose, let's see if I can quickly find it
11:13
More. So it looks like they're hiding it somewhere because it is garbage
11:24
There we go, macro found it. So obviously this is just going to be the most up-core-end thing you can probably capture
11:35
Now just as a comparison, I will capture also a photo mode without macro
11:43
So I'll just disable it. There we go. So normal shot, I'm going to do two times zoom and I'll move the lens a little bit back
11:54
because it's not macro. Okay, so let's go back to this
12:03
This is not the macro, it's going to be the next shot, but I did capture it just as a comparison
12:08
So there we go. I can see that this is fairly okay
12:12
It's nothing really outstanding in terms of just like a... crapped in macro shots and the brightness of it is also lacking but I guess it is what
12:21
it is but if we move to the macro we can already start seeing that this looks
12:26
this looks disgusting number one the lighting on it is just like I'm not sure
12:34
what is this like some oil painting basically looking photo it looks terrible
12:40
and I have basically no better word to describe it it looks awful
12:45
And just to put it in comparison with a device that has come out over two years ago, I believe
12:50
I'm going to take my Mate 20 Pro and do also a macro shot with a little bit of a better lens
12:59
still outdated at this point of time. And let's see what it can do here
13:07
So this is the actual macro on a decent phone. phone. So number one, it's just like the comparison here. Now obviously when you
13:21
zoom in that close it's losing its quality but then when you consider the fact that this is just a basically a millimeter in size and can crap it or blow
13:31
it up to basically full screen. I kind of start seeing just take sure quality
13:36
that you have here compared to what is called a macro here. Like
13:44
This is just not really comparable. It's basically like a toy compared to an actual device
13:53
So yeah, but other, as to be honest, this phone isn't necessarily a king of photos, so
13:59
I'm not going to trash it too much for it, but I will trash the company for including two useless sensors
14:08
because no, we don't care that you decided to rack up the count, it shouldn't be here
14:16
If it's bad, don't include it. Drop the price. Don't include it. Two cameras are okay
14:20
If they're good. If you try to include for trash cameras, it doesn't make the device better
14:27
So yeah, I just thought I would put that out there if you're thinking that just because it has more little holes here that it looks nicer and will perform better
14:37
No, it doesn't. So yeah. Now at the front, the selfie one, this is the 20 megapixel white sensor and it's
14:47
up 1080 to 30 frames. Now let's quickly see how that will perform
14:51
So apart from me looking like a serial killer that I want to kill someone, yeah, other quality
15:08
The dead stare here. Top notch. Sorry for that. Hopefully you won't have nightmares
15:15
But yeah, the quality is just fine. Can't really complain. Not much smoothing for it, so it's okay
15:23
Now moving to the actual internals of this device, it does come with a Snapdragon 860
15:30
so it's not the newest one, it's kind of like a weird one
15:35
It's not the flagship Snapdragon, but it's also a nice one. but it's also not really a main range, it's not dragon
15:40
So I don't know how to classify it, but it's good. But basically the just of it
15:44
And in terms of the storage that you get here, we have two different versions
15:50
So if you go with the lower storage one, which is 128 gigabytes
15:55
you will have two options of RAM, 6 and 8 gigabytes. And then if you go with the higher spec model
16:01
with the 256 gig storage, you only have the 8 gigabyte RAM model
16:05
Now, in terms of the In terms of the storage and also RAM if you not really planning to play games and you don need I don know every app running in the background just for kicks Then probably 6 gigabytes should be good enough for majority of us out there
16:27
And also the storage should be good as well. So I mean you're not planning to have a server backup on your phone
16:35
So, yeah, 128, I believe should be good enough for a majority of us
16:40
and if you want more storage, which is acceptable, oh, that's probably not the correct word for it
16:47
But yeah, if you want more storage, you can also expend it using an SD card
16:51
So that is a nice touch. So you don't need to go for the 256 and spend more money
16:56
if you don't really need it, if you know what I mean
17:00
So moving out of the storage, or actually, let me just add one more thing
17:06
The storage here for every model is UFS 3.1. meaning that the storage speeds, rewrites are basically equivalent to something like an SSD
17:16
which is really good. There is only, I believe, one better option, which is the MVME, and iPhones come with it
17:24
But let's be honest, this costs about $250, while iPhones cost over a thousand
17:30
So I would call that a good trade-off here. And then moving further to the battery department, it comes with a 5,160-5,000-1-60-5,000
17:40
160 miller hours battery, which I also did mention it has the 32 watt charger
17:48
And what that means for the charging speeds, it's at least what they advertise
17:53
is that in 50 or 30 minutes, you will charge it to 59%, and in 59 minutes you will charge it to 100%
18:02
But honestly, those are really good speeds, I would say. Especially the 60% and 30 minutes, yeah, that's really good
18:10
And lastly, a couple notable mentions here would be things like the inclusion of a headphone jack
18:19
which is right at the bottom next to the Type C port, a fingerprint sensor which is in the power key
18:24
And that's about it, honestly. There's no wireless charging, there's NFC obviously
18:33
And other than that, the phone has a fairly decent specs for the price that it costs
18:38
I can't really complain about it. Now, personally, I would prefer something a little bit more high-end
18:46
I kind of sound a little bit dushy saying that, but what I'm looking for personally is a phone that can capture better photos
18:54
and this will not deliver it. As you can see, there are two useless cameras
18:58
The 48 megapixel does a okay job. I can't really complain about it
19:02
but it just gets outperformed by basically any actual flagship device. This is what you would call a flagship killer
19:11
but without the flagship actual specification, but flagship features. So it cuts on cost in a lot of different departments
19:20
You don't have Amulet display, you don't have wireless charging, you don't have premium built quality
19:25
underfinger display fingerprint sensor, and all that stuff is just kind of missing here
19:31
What you do have is a good processor, really good one, especially for the price
19:36
a decent storage, a fast one on top of that. Really good battery and battery charging speeds
19:44
And that's... Oh, and also the 120 hertz refresh rate. That is also an amazing feature here
19:50
And honestly, for $250, this is an amazing device. It lacks a couple of the premium features that I'll be looking for
19:59
I'd rather pay more and have them rather than pay less and have something that is more budget-oriented
20:05
But yeah, if you're looking for a really good device that has majority of the features that you'd be looking in a flagship for, like the high refresh rate
20:16
of really blazing fast speeds with a processor and decent storage speed along with decent amount of RAM
20:22
Then, yeah, there's, I believe, no better option here. This basically performs as a flagship with the cost of a mid-range device
20:33
So if that is something that you're looking for, then, yeah, there's no point. contenders here. But yeah, lastly just pop the case on and see how that will look like
20:42
That is a hefty little case. There we go. popped it on. So the casing obviously will
20:54
provide a lot of protection. This is a fairly thick one. Most likely if you drop it, it should save
21:00
your device. Also allows you to put it on the screen if that is something that you
21:05
like to do, I personally don't, and it will protect it because it does have
21:09
bezels basically all around. But yeah, at the end of the day, finishing this off
21:14
this is a really good device, I would say most certainly worth the money, if you're
21:19
looking for a mid-range device with basically flagship specs. And yeah, I would
21:24
highly recommend it if that is something that you're looking for. Now that being said, if you found this very helpful, don't forget to hit like, subscribe, and thanks for watching
